We went to the Friday Food Truck event. All the food trucks were great, lots to choose from for dinner. The winery was busy as expected but the lady that handled our tasting seemed very interested in socializing with employees rather than being helpful, preoccupied. While other wineries we have visited were very attentive and helpful. All grapes used to make their wines are from California. I would prefer local vineyard support.

Nice place to just go and enjoy some wine with friends. The staff is always so nice and very helpful. They have music on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer which is always nice to go and enjoy with friends and family. They also do speical events for holidays and have an event room upstairs for party's or what have you. Definitely should stop by to check it out. The wines are always changing too, so you can always expect something new to pop up.

I had a wonderful experience at this winery. They have an impressive selection of dry and sweet wines. And Joy, their tasting room Manager, is very knowledgeable on the nuances of wines. ... a wonderful personality. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this winery.

Thanks to Joy, this was the best wine tasting experience we’ve ever had. Her knowledge of all the wines we tasted was spot on even made a Port drinker out of my wife who normally wouldn’t give you two cents for a glass. Joy’s personality is fantastic and she is a great at what she does. Thank you Joy, we can’t wait to meet up with you again.

Great Place for an Event! Our professional organization met there yesterday and we were very pleased with both the facility and the hospitality. We plan to go back next year and arrive Friday evening to enjoy more of the winery and the Food Truck event. Plenty of nice hotels and restaurants nearby.

They sold out and fired the entire staff. They don't even make the wine there anymore. My original review was five star. Written as(Only thing better than the wine is the staff that Joy has put together here. Had a great experience!) But I won't be back now.

We went for the wine tasting. The place was busy, but Kevin moved from group to group and kept us entertained. We found a wine we did not care for, so he gave us another one to try. We had never done this, but enjoyed ourselves and are planning our next trip to do it again. Hopefully, we can get a group to go.

A great place to hike! Visited the place around 5:30 late in the evening and it was lovely! The weather was lovely and we did the blue trail which was around 3.25 miles and it covered the Lilly pond and one other which where lovely!One should definitely plan a picnic or sorts and the place has great infrastructure for the same as well! Must visit if in the area.Entrance: For people in and around the place it’s $5 and if there is someone not from the nearby county it’s $6. Usually North gate is the place you end up at if you coming from the state highway. Do get a map at the gate for better navigationTrails: As I explored it on foot, we understood that there were three trails for hiking. The longest was around 5 miles (blue trail); followed by red trail around 3.25 miles ans the smallest being green of approx 2 miles There is a great trail for biking as well.

A very beautiful getaway in Indianapolis. I loved seeing eagles, deer, and goldfinches on my weekend runs quite a few years back. For that reason I visit on occasion to get some photos in. Excellent views, plenty of miles to run, and overall a very clean park.

Fabulous morning on the trails. Lots of sceneries, emerald green forest, summer smells and birds voices, a lots of water views . Fun for getting out in nature.

I am surprised I had not been to this park until recently. It seems peace and natural beauty can be found in central Indiana, assuming you do not mind the occasional plane engine or jet noise fading in and out overhead. It is dog friendly, has restrooms readily available, and the cleanliness stands out the most. Unfortunately, this park does not allow bikes on trails. For those who ride MTB, we are stuck with either driving to Brown County Park or using the local Town Run Trail Park for our fix.

I had an incredible experience at Eagle Creek Park! The walkable and runnable trails allowed me to immerse myself in nature while getting some exercise. There were numerous spots for breathtaking views and photography, making it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts and photographers alike. Being surrounded by the beauty of nature at this park is rejuvenating. Get a yearly park pass—it’s worth the investment. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful park and very large too! The trails are nicely maintained and the fresh air and serenity are incredible! There are a great many displays to educate people in wildlife too. A very fun place to visit. I will be back soon!

I love Eagle Creek. What can I say? There are deer, birds, tons of options for trails, great views of the water. There aren't many strenuous hikes but, if you choose carefully, you can find a trail that isn't much-used and you won't pass another person. Great place for dogs on leashes, but be warned that the large deer population means ticks are rampant-- check yourself and your furry friends if you visit!

This park is one of mine and my families' favorite places to hike. 🩷 Next weekend, we're going to traverse onto the lake and maybe do some fishing. The trails are beautiful and ongoing, I could stay out there for hours. It's a perfect place to work on some photography. 📸

A gorgeous place to enjoy some kayaking or paddle boarding! We love all the hikes and all the views. A quite place in a busy city with so much to see. We go there almost weekly and still have so much to explore!

What an absolutely amazing Park. It's always well taken care of the layout of the hiking trails are very nice and the map is amazing we have been to several parks we're hiking is extremely hard because the map is not laid out right and you can get lost easily. Eagle Creek is not one of those parks I highly recommend if you get a chance to come here especially if you're a photographer the wildlife is amazing the bird sanctuary is beautiful.

Very very busy. Make sure you bring a towel if you have kids because the playgrounds were under water.... But to be fair we had some rain a few days priorNice gem in the middle of the city.

Far exceeded my expectations! In town for a conference & had some extra time. Started on the red loop (6 miles). Stopped at the marina & saw they had kayaks to rent, so did that for 2 hours. Saw a ton of birds & turtles. Finished with the rest of the red loop. Marina has a good selection of drinks & snacks. Water faucets scattered throughout the park. Highly recommend!

We're here for the eclipse. A lot of of the restrooms have just been opened up and not fully cleaned yet (they did warn us), but they did set up porto potties that seem clean and functional. It's early season for parks, but everything seems pretty well maintained. Several nice playgrounds, trails, picnic areas. A bit muddy in the areas, but it's spring - that's what parks are like this time of year.

Beautiful park with such a variety of things to do and places to explore. Paved trails or wooded trails, wooded hikes or by the water hikes, and so much more!

This park is one of Indy's best gems. Miles of wooded, dirt paths wind you through pines and other new and old-growth trees. I love that they pepper benches through at beautiful overlooks around the trail that goes around the Ornithology Center. There are miles of marked trails, though they can be a little confusing sometimes. You can always just make your way back to the water. There are also kayak rentals and a launch point. It's a beautiful place.

I visited the park during the 2024 eclipse and had a fantastic experience. All of the staff were so nice and helpful. This park is beautiful and it was fun driving thru the property to see everything that was there. The night before the eclipse, the park manager sent out an email with addresses, important information, and even a video of a staff member driving to the park to make it clear where to go. This was a really nice touch, their effort to go above and beyond made for a really great experience. Thank you!

It’s a good place to take a walk with your puppy. The place is full of different birds. It also has a wonderful fall color.

We are so lucky to have this beautiful park full of great hiking, birds (eagles, owls, pileated woodpeckers….), and spectacular views. Stop by for a picnic or a hike if you are passing through.

We stopped just to see what it was about and ended up having lunch. My daughter had the kids Mac and cheese ($9) and a chocolate milk ($3.50) I LOVED the chocolate milk and her Mac and cheese was phenomenal! Very creamy! My husband and I ordered a burger ($22 each). The fries were disappointing, however the burger was the BEST burger I've ever had! It was delicious! He also had a hot apple cider with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar ($8.50) and loved it too! We did end up grabbing some ice cream from the store to take home. Also stopped by the barn to see some chickens and the cows! It was expensive in the end, but worth it and a very fun side stop. I highly recommend!

Such a lovely day and place. We started with brunch and shared the chicken and waffles with jalapeno butter & two eggs. Took the 1.5 mile farm walk ($3 each). Finished our visit off with some hand scooped ice cream.

The ONLY reason I gave this place a 4 is because I asked the waiter if the fish was farm raised or wild caught. I felt that a restaurant that highlights farm to table should know where their fish came from. The food is always exceptional and fresh and the flavors that combine is always fun to experience. The character of the restaurant alone is worth the trip. It’s gorgeous. I’ll continue to return.

Lovely evening out with the hubby and this was a delightful experience. It's a pretty small restaurant so I'm glad I reserved a table on OpenTable. Rustic atmosphere and nice staff. The food was good. I'm a foodie so I have to say it's nothing that I would particularly rave about, especially for the price point. But like I said it was a good experience and everything was fine.The bread was yummy, but kind of felt like something that should come with the meal rather than having to pay $8 extra for it. The mussels were really tasty. The swordfish was very good, but the accompaniments didn't enhance or really go with the dish at all. My husband's steak was cooked correctly and he enjoyed the char on the outside. All in all a good night, definitely glad to have finally tried this place.

I went there with my 18 month old & 4 year old granddaughters. The farm store was quaint and well stocked. The girls loved petting the cows. We stayed until it was milking time and we were the only people there, so we had an up close and personal time. The farmer was super friendly and answered a ton of questions. We then went to the Dairy Bar and had some ice cream. It was so good! We ended up purchasing 2 chocolate milk bottles and 2 pints of ice cream (strawberry & coffee chocolate chip). We will be definitely be going back.

Took my 8 year old for the first time. She LOVED the dairy bar ice cream, feeding baby cows, and playing in the sand next to the pond. The staff was incredible. Fantastic afternoon.Kids menu is limited but reasonably priced. Adult meals are delicious but a little expensive. Chicken and waffles was good. Lovely place for brunch or a small intimate event. Pretty outdoor spaces and organic food. Definitely worth a visit. We called in for brunch which was fine. Lost a star for cold coffee and potatoes. I had eggs Benedict my husband has chicken and waffles. Great service.

My wife and I are fans of farm to table concepts. This was our first true experience and it was delectable. We went for Saturday brunch. The location is nestled beside the creek and tall trees (if you choose to trail the farm). Chicken and waffles were delicious. And my wife was happy with her mushroom and cheese loaded omelette. Freshness of the food was evident in its taste and later on we had a nice walk along the path around the farm and open grazing fields. It also has a small store where you can buy fresh products.

Shared a Valentine’s Day meal with some dear friends, and we enjoyed the Special menu.Our waiter Chad, was very attentive, went above, and beyond to make sure we had a great evening.

Hands down, the creamery has some of the best brunch, best service, and best atmosphere in town! The staff were both courteous and accommodating- particularly re: food allergies.Additionally all the dairy-based products (from butter, to frosting, to cheese, and ice cream) are made in house- and it shows. This place might be ok as a restaurant, but as an outdoor wedding reception venue there is a lot of room for improvement. I felt very bad for the bride, she was served her food last. There were a lot of flies, which I guess should be expected with a dairy farm, but I feel like the problem could have been solved if they install ceiling fans on the barn porch. There were also wooden beams on either side of the porch which impede serving and guest movement. Speaking of service, I’m not sure if they’re short staffed, but assigning two servers to a wedding party is too few, guests were having to clear empty glasses and dishes from the table. The weird speech from staff about the ingredients before dinner was unnecessary for a wedding. We had thought they had forgotten dessert because it was pretty delayed. The food was ok, the salad needed more dressing and the green beans needed less nutritional yeast or whatever was on them but overall ok, which is why this place gets two stars instead of one, in addition to the lovely scenery. The table setting was nice, but I’m not sure how much was because of the wonderful job by the bride’s sister and not the actual venue. Also, the water in the glass bottles on the table tasted awful, not sure what that was about. I don’t recommend the chocolate martini, it’s just chocolate milk and vodka, not a great combo, and really attracted the flies. This is not a handicap friendly venue either, guests have to walk uphill to the restaurant for restrooms.

We had a blast! Our guides were spectacular, Bill and his wife, whose name I cant remember. They were amazing with my 4 year old son, who had a blast!! This was his first time to zipline. They were so kind and did all they could to make this a wonderful experience! We would love the opportunity to come back!!

An all around excellent experience. The guides and staff are great. 5 and 9 year olds both had a blast. There are 8 total lines in the course with the 3rd and 8th being the longest and fastest. It uses the contours of the land so there are few stairs.

Had an amazing time with the family. Family friendly activity that was enjoyed by our 12 and two 8 year olds. Staff was friendly and made the experience feel safe while still keeping it fun. We will definitely be back. Great outdoor activity to enjoy the natural beauty.

This was so much fun. My first Zipline and it was incredible. Cory and Dylan were awesome. Always felt safe and comfortable. Will do again!

We arrived 4 hours before our appointment due to travel time, and they allowed us to go as soon as we got there. We went as family of 4, ranging from ages 7 yrs-40+. The first run was scary, because you don't know what to expect. My middle child was hesitant, but after a few minutes went for it! He had a great time!! After the fear of the first line, it's fun, exciting, and almost therapeutic. We had a great time and could have done gone on several more runs. Our guides were Krista and Caden. They are very knowledgeable, kind, funny, encouraging, and comfortable. It's a very clean, organized, and professional set up. I HIGHLY recommend this amazing place!

Very relaxing and beautiful here. There is a mill next to the bridge that is still working and you can buy goods there. We visit often. The grounds is kept very nice. Walk across the bridge, sit and watch the water fall down and into creek. It's very peaceful.

This was awesome So many vendors lots of food trucks. Something for everyone. Carpark clean and orderly. Check out Karen's Marque near the carpark as you go in. Sorry only got one picture as we went in lol. So in awe of everything.

Favorite place to go to the covered Bridge Festival. Mostly flat areas, times to come are early around 8am and around 3pm to avoid massive crowds. If you bring baby strollers nice to have the ones with big tires as there are some places with larger rocks to push over. Parking prices are 5 dollars to 10 dollars. Lots to buy and see.

This is the bridge to see if you can only see a few. It's along the black route. It's picturesque and quaint. The rapids beneath the bridge gave me a feeling how old this thing is. The bridge itself is well-maintained while still looking like a covered bridge and the mill across the stream is a stunning addition to photograph.And the landscaping around the bridge area gives it an old time feel.

Visited for Covered Bridge Festival. This is my favorite area to go during the festival. All kinds of foods and crafts. It rained and their are many indoor shopping areas thankfully.The view of the bridge and the trickling water underneath is also beautiful. I had a delicious BBQ bowl and brought home some home decor and a couple beautiful turquoise rings.

Very cool bridge!!!Didn't see much of the town though...it's was the Covered Bridge Festival Week and there were THOUSANDS of people in the streets.

We love taking friends out here to the mill and bridge. It is nice that they try and keep the area open outside of the covered bridge festival.

Small and easy to walk around zoo. Fun for my toddler and stroller friendly. It costs me $6 to get in and $4 for the train. We also paid for 2 feedings for goats. Admission was way less than you’ll ever spend at another zoo!There’s a micro splash pad that doesn’t throw water up too high. We did grab a few cold drinks from the gift shop.All in all we spent 1.5 hour there, less than $20 and had a good time.If you are going with a toddler, I highly recommend a stroller. It’s a good hike from the street parking lot to the entrance.They do have a handicap parking lot behind the entrance.After leaving the zoo you can pop over to the community park. It’s free!

This was a really fun and cheap trip. It was only $2 per person to get in. For .49 you can feed the goats. That was really fun. The goats were way gentler than I imagined. Make sure you get your goat feeding tickets at the entrance. They don't sell them at the Family Farm. It was really fun. There was a good amount of animals and you can tell they are well cared for.

We enjoy this zoo as it is very cheap and a fun quick play day! Adding in the train ride and a paddle boat ride will make the experience even better! Plus a beautiful park and water park all in one area!

Great little zoo! Easy to miss if you don't know its here, but surprisingly bigger than expected. Good variety of animals, and very affordable for families. Best part was the wallaby exhibit where you can walk through the enclosure!

We had a fun time. Very cheap admission, and plenty of different animals to see. The penguins seemed to really enjoy playing with my daughter, who was equally delighted.

Very good landscaping very beautiful flowers. Lots of things to do at the park including a playground that's really nice and a zoo that is really cool, they have been doing construction for a long time but they finally got the ballpark up and running and it looks great. I have came here since I was a young child and now I'm taking my child there so it is a great park to visit!

A nice local town zoo. Has expanded over the years and is a fun visit. Used to be free, but now there's a $2. charge. The train ride is also $2 each. My 5 yr old thinks the butterfly house is pretty cool. There's a water feature at the entrance that is fun. Be careful feeding the goats with little ones, they all come a running!

9/23/23- Great place for kids and to grill. Lots of things to do besides the play area. You can take a walk around the pond and see the fountains. You can take pictures all over the place.Today the Tippecano Latin Festival was held there today with lots of people and sponsor's. Plenty of things to do for kids and adults. It's a yearly event. Lots of fun!We saw a wedding on our way out. I guess you can add that to the list of things to do. Great time!

It's not a large zoo, but it's nice. It's very clean. It's 2 dollars a person to get in, goat feed and train are extra, but worth the few extra bucks. Our only disappointment was not being able to see the penguins because of the air quality. We will definitely be making several trips to this little gem!!!

The zoo area does not have many attractions, but the enclosures are nice. It also has a really nice play area with age themed jungle gyms and play areas. It has many gazebos for picnicking, and I do believe I also saw small grills built in. Also a live band stage.

I loved this little zoo! There aren't many animals but the ones they have aren't the same ones you see at typical zoos! Definitely worth the price and the hour drive we took to get there!

Been taking my daughter there for her entire life. A great little zoo with a petting zoo with goats, a Llama, & Shetland pony (a little horse?). The cooler morning has the prairie dogs put about with their babies, the baby goats are always adorable, and the penguin exhibit is nicely done.

Went on a overcast Autumn Wednesday. It was a beautiful, peaceful day for some one on one time with the little. LOTS of new animals and stuff to do!Also, a new restaurant/pub on Scott Street! We had lunch there before the Zoo and it was phenomenal! Reasonably priced, absolutely delicious food, very kind waitress, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend a day trip! It's all in one spot! Food, Zoo, Playground, and ice-cream! All at reasonable prices! 😊

It was the first time visiting for my four year old daughter and I and I'll tell you what she was in awe as much as I.We didn't cover the whole property but in six hours we seen so much beautiful landscape and exotic sandstone carving.They have a public swimming pool also so after all the hiking and splashing around its a perfect place to end the day.We drove 3 hours total there and back and I would do it again in a heart beat.

I absolutely LOVE how Indiana parks organize their maps & trails. They’re numbered & marked level of difficulty. They also maintain their trails better than where I’m from. (Illinois) Lots of different things to see at this park from giant boulders moved by glaciers to beautiful waterfalls, interesting ways to get around like ladders & really old stone stairs built into the side of the hills, great views, cool bridges, canyons they have it all! The lodge is just alright but worth it if you want to stay IN the park. I might try camping next time. Super cool & worth a visit for sure. Nice to have at least one full day to hike but I still have so much to see yet! Been twice & still plan on checking it out again.

Great time for sure. We just stayed one night at the campground but did a lot. We rode bikes around the campground and then down to the state park. We had to ride along the highway about one mile to get to the state park but it wasn't too bad with traffic when we went. We saw the horse stable and had to go for a ride. It was a nice ride through the woods. After that we started biking again and saw the snake out on the road from the house stable.

The hiking is absolutely beautiful! Most of the trails are nicely shaded. There are quite a few rugged hikes, for those who are adventurous. If it's a hot day, I highly recommend doing a floating trip or kayaking with Sugar Valley Canoe Trips. We also took advantage of the Olympic size pool. There were a lot of families with their dogs at the campgrounds. There was also a playground for the kids. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers were nice as well.

Turkey Run was absolutely gorgeous. We went early in the morning on a Friday and nearly had the park to ourselves. The kids did a great job hiking and were absolutely awestruck. Great day trip location. We had a cabin booked but a storm knocked out the power and we had to cancel our reservation. Will visit again.

We loved the park. We hiked down #6 and just got lost in the trail system from there. The suspension bridge is pretty impressive. We made a reservation for lunch early in the day, and I am so glad we did. After that hike, I was happy to sit down to a warm meal. They had some pretty good fried chicken and these little key lime pie cups that were delicious.

My parents haven't been here since 1986 and felt it was time to go back. Very nice park. Gets real dark at night, so make sure to bring a form of light with you. Rockville is about 15 to 20 minutes from the park if you decide to hit the town or need supplies. Wildlife can be seen and heard in the campgrounds, so bring you food in after you are done or a raccoon will eat it.

The best park in Indiana, my eyes for this beautiful gem of a forest in Marshall. I love the trails, the geysers, the rugged landscape and the tough and not so tough hikes. I have enjoyed the scenic beauty of each of natures creation and so enjoy hiking endlessly for hours mesmerized by Turkey run’s beauty. Ample parking, kids area, camping spots, an inn for campers and sufficient provisions for campers as well as hikers. There’s a $7 fee at the entrance and allows access to the entire park. You are given a good map and pamphlet which includes all details to the park. Lovely tourist spot!

We stayed overnight on a weekday, and it was not busy. The cabin was cozy and near the main lodge. The restaurant and pool were very nice. The trails are well maintained. There are a variety of trails offered from easy, moderate, and experienced. The creek was very low and easy to walk across. Trail 3 is the one to go on!

Always the best hiking for us! We stayed at a pet friendly cabin at the Turkey Rum Inn. It’s a fun place to go! The cabin is pretty small but great for sleeping. Heated swimming pool and Inn restaurant were nice! Lots of trails to accommodate anyone!

I first came here over 40 years ago and couldn't wait to go back. I finally made the trek and brought my two children. It was magical to watch them bond on the trails and help each other as they explored the natural beauty of this park. Trail 3 was their absolute favorite! They enjoyed hiking through streams, mud, ladders, and were glad that they dressed accordingly. They want to come back and would not making the nearly 4-hour drive to do so.CAUTION: Some of the trails are not for those with questionable health or limited mobility. There are LOTS of stairs, ladders, tight spaces, water obstacles, etc. to make it potentially difficult to say the least. Do not hesitate to speak with park staff about any concerns and take their advice. They are here to help you.

Turkey run state park is just breath taking! We arrived late on a Friday evening with our camper. Woke up Saturday morning to an absolute beautiful day. Hit the trails (trail 3 was one of our favorites) all day and came back to the campground at the state park and had a great cookout. The campground is clean (if you're pulling a camper be aware some lots are not the most level). All in all this trip gets 👍👍

This was our second visit to Turkey Run. We hiked trail 3 which is one of the more rugged trails. We had to go through streams, small gorges, and up and down tall ladders. A thunderstorm passed through in the middle of our hike but the rain was refreshing. Lots of mud when it's been raining so prepare for that! The temperature was around 95 degrees that day but it is so much cooler through the trails. Such a beautiful place!!

Very beautiful state park. Well maintained. Very nice inn on property. Great hiking trails with awesome scenery.When we were there in early September the crowds unbelievable. Hundreds of people everywhere. I would recommend going on a weekday instead of a weekend.

Great views, we lucked into the perfect weather. Nice ravines to traverse through. With a suspension bridge over the river. Some of the trail is under reconstruction making the route a bit difficult.

Beautiful state park! Went during labour day weekend and it was pretty crowded but we still had fun. We parked by the nature center and crossed over the suspension bridge which was so fun for the kids. There are parts of the hike that are on the adventurous side. Also, it’s a muddy trail so plan accordingly. Trails are mostly shady. Highly recommended.

My wife and I booked a room for the weekend at the Inn. A wonderful experience! We were greeted by a very gracious young woman behind the reception desk, her name was Rain. We booked ahead by one year which is suggested if you’re stay is on a weekend, and scored a redecorated room. The trails are absolutely awesome. Some of the most beautiful scenery, with views of sandstone clifs with trees growing right out of the moss. Highly recommend you wear appropriate shoes. Leave those white gym shoes at home, waterproof is best. And if the trail rugged expect to be crossing streams. Its hard to find anyone not having a great day here. And again the staff is tremendously welcoming and gracious. We have never camped here but there are spots for tents and even some for motor homes.

One of Indiana best state parks. Great hiking trails, a nature center with good programming, a beautiful inn, and camping available. One of our favorite summer activities is tubing Sugar Creek through Turkey Run. Visited recently for spring woodland flowers.

Is a beautiful place to hike! And the such a gem to find in the middle of Indiana! Couldn’t get to every trail the other day, but hit a majority of the middle sections. Make sure to grab a map if you aren’t from the area! I think the ladders section was probably our favorite area.

Live in Illinois and love Starve Rock. Turkey Run State Park was excellent. Love the options for giving. Excellant well groomed trails. 1000' elevation change makes hiking a real workout. Will be returning.

What a beautiful and magnificent place! We went there today. The weather was so good. Omg, this State Park is so beautiful. There are lots of fall colors visible there right now. We really enjoyed hiking there. This is the best hiking trail zone we have experienced so far. I would recommend exploring trail 3. The whole trail 3 hiking is a special experience. Notable things to visit Rocky Hollow, Punch Bowl, Falls Canyon, etc. Most of the trails are so good and these will be unique experiences from one another. A beautiful place. If you ever get the chance to visit Indiana, this place is a must visit.

This is by far my favorite State Park in Indiana. We stayed at the INN and had multiple days to explore all the trials. The trails are very interactive. Climbing ladders, getting a little wet, and hiking up little waterfalls might happen. Most trials have stairs. Lots and lots of stairs.

Turkey Run State Park was an incredible experience!! We visited during the fall so all the leaves were changing and the views were beautiful. We hiked trail #3 which included the suspension bridge, climbing ladders, walking on ledges, Rocky Hollow, and the punch bowl. We were surrounded by such cool nature the entire time. So many mushrooms! 10/10!

A University should want their students to succeed and set them up for success with proper housing. Purdue exhibits terrible treatment of students. No planning whatsoever for the students major area of study when placing the students in housing so they can be placed in the part of campus closest to their classes. For example they place many engineering students furthest away from their classes. No concern whatsoever for students. It does not take a lot of effort to place students in housing close to where their classes will be for the most part.Purdue over enrolls for the financial gain and then puts three and four students in rooms designed for two.Horrible crowding!Prospective students beware!!! We were lied to during campus tour and told housing issues had been resolved. Far from it!Much too expensive for out of state students to be treated so badly by the Purdue Administration. There are many fine universities that treat their students like human beings, Purdue not being one of them.

If you are a transfer applicant, please don't apply for math or anything else that is related to the department of mathematics and statistics. I have heard a lot of cases where they refused many good background transfer students who applied math. They give some vague reasons, like space limitations or unsatisfaction with prerequisite courses. They don't show any information about their limited-space programs like other universities do. And they never ask for your course syllabus before denying your application. And the academic advisor at this university I contact is kind of pretentious; she seems to leave me with the impression that Purdue is the best university in the US. I need to try my best to get admitted at all costs, no matter what major I choose, though I have shown my preferences and interests.

Beautiful campus during the summer. Visited the Neil Armstrong statue and the surrounding areas - recommended for first-time visitors. Both of old gate and new gate were beautiful. We saw people taking wedding pictures in front of the gate. The lawn was also maintained well with many flowers. Enjoy the vibes on campus!

Beautiful, large campus! It was a perfect activity for us to do on our visit to Lafayette. We visited the outdoor amphitheater--loved the artwork and architecture all over campus. I also appreciated the respect given to well-known STEM innovators.

I love this place for the most part. My only complaint is they don't have much choice for girls jeans. That was the reason I went to the outlet mall and this store specifically. They had one rack for girls and like 7 for boys.

This is a nice store to have at the mall, huge space with plenty of selection. I buy my jeans and khakis here. They have an online store also if whatever you need isn't available in your size in-store. Employees are helpful, but generally you have to track them down to ask for help. Doesn't seem like they go out of their way to help you. Except for Keli! She is awesome and needs a raise.

While shopping at V.F.I went to check out and realized my credit card was missing. Awesome library! Been here several times, they've got a decent book collection, a VERY nice cafe inside with very nice staff, and a good section upstairs with tables, chairs, and outlets, if you want to come here to do some work or study :)

I am a member of the Champaign Public Library. I don't owe a late fee, wasn't causing trouble, wasn't being loud, had my stuff in a corner out of the way. Looking for resources for a place to stay and cool from the heat and the manager guy walked up to me and said we can't accommodate you and you have too much luggage with you and made me leave. I thought Champaign was better than this.

I have never lived in a town with such a dynamic library! There are writers programs, and programs to help people who want to start businesses, and they are building expanded facilities in the basem*nt for doing sound recordings...oh, yeah, and they have books. I've seen libraries that want to do away with books. Which seems dumb to me. They have a great collection of videos, too.My favorite part, though, is walking into the building. The lobby is an art gallery with a new installation of art every season. It never fails to make me smile when I walk in!

Not sure how you could have a bad experience here! This library has always been great. Very knowledgable and friendly staff, ton of options, great movie selections, and best place to study. Definitely a gem of our town!

As a student, the staff are very rude. Sometimes when I’m inside the restroom a lady will come up and tell me to hurry up, just because im looking in the mirror. Other times when im looking at the 2$ book collection I get told to move and not stand there. The staff are very rude, and immature twords children. I dont know what made them mad but they arent the nicest twords children/teens. I get some are rude but a lot of us are nice and just want a place to study.

This place is low key awesome. Super bright and welcoming. Great place to take kids to read and play. Lots of great books. There are computers and iPads for play along with lots of toys.

This library is a work of art. It has everything. Wheelchair accessibility, it’s bright and airy, two sets of bathrooms on each floor, the staff is fantastic, I have never had a problem getting anything I wanted or needed from the collection. They even have a dedicated play area for the kids, even quiet places set away for kids to independently play or read and comfortable chairs spaced out for anyone to relax and read. They have meeting rooms, computers and tablets for use, and quiet rooms.

This is an amazing library! It’s enormous, the staff is friendly, and they have a coffee shop. They’ll have just about anything you need.

Fantastic library, I feel like you can always find something exciting here. The children's area has a really lovely play space, with lots of cool, interactive art and toys for a variety of ages. There are comfy chairs with chargers for the guardians, and all gender restrooms with changing tables. The adult sections are well stocked, and the librarians have always been friendly and eager to help. The cafe is tiny but mighty, and has a good selection, including both snacks and sandwiches. There's lots here to discover - this is an award winning library for a reason, and there's a wealth of programs and resources to tap into, both in person and online. This is also a LGBT+ safe space. I remember the library as a magical place as a kid (let's be honest, even as an adult) and I look forward to showing my kids that.

Beautiful!!! We went in the fall, so we did not see the gardens in bloom, but the park is beautiful in Fall colors!This was our first time visiting and will not be our last. Walking paths around the gardens and mansion are kept up well. We did some hiking through the trails, very well maintained, and easy to navigate.The cafe was great. There are lots of options and reasonably priced. We got the pulled pork nachos special and Allerton Tea.

Outstanding experience. This was my first visit and I look forward to when the new Visitor Center opens. So excited to see the gardens in the fall and over the holidays.

Allerton Park has been a speacial place for me since my first visit in 1990. I was in high school then and my friends and I would come here to hike the trails. Since then I have made numerous visits and now that I have kids of my own I love bringing them here to enjoy this park as much as I did when I was their age. Wonderful place to spend the day and bring a picnic basket.

My parents got married here 40 years ago. It's a beautiful park!There are clean restrooms available. and a wonderful dog- friendly picnic area.

Absolutely beautiful gardens and a great learning experience. I recently took a group of scouts that needed to identify trees and various plants. With well maintained beds and clearly marked plants this was made easy. We also enjoyed a 3 mile hike. The trails are wide, well tended, and for the most part equally acceptable for all. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back for hikes.

Gorgeous in the summer. The smells of different types of flowers all over made for a great experience. We saw a rabbit hiding among the bulb flowers. Kids enjoyed wandering in the hedges, looking at flowers and statues. It's a lot of walking though, so come prepared with water, good shoes, and maybe snacks.

I photograph weddings all over Illinois and Allerton Mansion is always one of my favorites. A gorgeous mansion combined with acres of beautiful photo opportunities make for a beautifully unique, one-of-a-kind wedding venue. Highly recommend.

We visited on December 1st to see the amazing Allerton Glow Festival. Certainly this was a great experience. Throughout December there will be lots of lighting here. It's very fascinating to observe this place with night lighting. I would recommend exploring Allerton Glow this month.

We visited Allerton to see the Christmas light display. It was spectacular and because we got there at sunset the crowds were not bad. By the time we left the parking lots were about full and traffic was backed up at the entry

From the summer concert series and Irish Fest to the Holiday GLOW, we enjoy this park for all kinds of fun family activities. It's also a beautiful place for senior class or engagement pictures, weddings, and even camping outings.

What a great place to unwind, relax, and enjoy nature. We took the whole family. Everyone had a wonderful time. Grandparents and grandchildren had plenty of fun walking the trails and exploring together. Nice little Café on the premise. We even enjoyed live music the first night there.

Very interesting place. It reminds me of an old college or monastery. When it gets dark they have everything lit up with colorful lights. A very calm and peaceful place. I recommend going closer to dark!

I actually had my wedding here. The ceremony was at the Fu-Dog Garden. We were married in the Shrine of the Golden Buddha. It's such a beautiful garden lined with Chinese statues. The garden is surrounded by trees. It was a perfect venue for our wedding and we couldn't have picked a better day for it. The whole grounds are amazing. It has several other gardens, a gorgeous mansion, and a hedge maze. And it's tucked away right off I-72. You would never know the grounds are there until you're driving on the road leading to it. It's a wonderful spot in the middle of central Illinois. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Boo at the zoo was so fun! Nice treats for kids of all ages! The haunted train ride was spooky but not too frightening for a 2 year old! Not a lot of animals could be seen since it was so dark, but it was fun just the same! The workers really outdid themselves with all the pumpkins and lights and decorations!

This is a fantastic little zoo. It's the perfect place to take the kids for a short outing. The staff are super friendly and we got to see some great things. I'd happily go again!

A nice, small zoo conveniently located in Decatur near the lake. The people who work in the zoo are super friendly and knowledgeable. They are always answering guest questions and helping to educate. The zoo is the perfect size to take toddlers for a fun day. There's a playground, carousel, train, concession stand, plenty of benches and tables, a gift shop and a petting zoo. I wish there was a way to know what wasn't available to be seen before going in. We missed the bird, reptile house and sloth this trip.

We like to come when it's free on Thursdays and pay for the train and carousel rides and food. The children love the playground before and after visiting the zoo.

Great little zoo. Low cost, friendly employees, petting zoo with the cutest goats and furry hog. They have warm weather penguins, train rides, carosel and cheap snacks at the snack shop. They take cash and cards. My favorite zoo in central Illinois!

Great place for young kids. I've had a membership for 2 years now and it's so worth it. My son loves visiting and the staff is so great about answering any questions he has.

Located in downtown Pontiac, the Route 66 Association is part of a network of free museums that offers visitors something to explore.The Route 66 focuses on the Illinois portion of the road, and shows memorabilia depicting the towns from Chicago to Saint Louis. It was interesting to learn how many people earned their livelihood from the Route.You can walk through quickly, or spend some time admiring the objects on display. I spent about 45 minutes in the Route 66 Museum. The volunteers are wonderful. I have to give a shout-out to Rose who was positively charming.This is a must-see if you are into automobile history, the history of Illinois, or popular culture from the 50's and 60's. Be sure to walk around the back and take a photo with the gigantic Route 66 mural on the side of the building.

An interesting place that is a must visit when passing through this town. A nice woman gave my children Route 66 badges, they were happy. But the War Museum, located in this building on the second or third floor, made a great impression on me. For reasons unknown to me, this museum is not very popular in Google maps, but it is there and you should pay attention to this place. You won't find anything like it for thousands of miles!

This was a very neat experience. Between the Route 66 museum and the War museum, there was so much to see! The staff/volunteers were so nice and had a lot of information to share. I really like how the war museum includes their hometown people who have served or are currently serving.

Great 66 stop! This museum was very interesting, the staff friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. Gift shop was very nice and reasonably priced. Don't forget to check out the murals on the back of the building and around the block.

On my way to Oak Brook, I stopped in Pontiac City because I've always wanted to view the Route 66 Museum and Hall of Fame. It brought back a lot of memories and allowed me to visualize the golden days of Mother Road. I also appreciate viewing the military uniform collection at the war museum. A must visit site. Come to Pontiac, Illinois, if you want to learn about Old Route 66, is my strongest recommendation. After my visit, I also create two YouTube videos to share with my friend. Have Fun!

A nice little museum for Pontiac Motors that just happens to be in a town called Pontiac. It's not an overly large museum. But it has a nice collection of cars and other memorabilia from Pontiac's past.

If you happened to be in the neighborhood of this little museum, you must enter it. There is no admission, you could leave a donation if you want, and there are old authentic Pontiacs. We saw some license plates and they were reasonably priced $ 10 each. Just walk through and enjoy the beauty of these cars.

How fun was it to go to a Pontiac musuem (did you know Pontiac made buggy? Me Neither!) in Pontiac, Illinois. It had great looking cars and was easy to walk and enjoy. Plan on 30 minutes to an hour here.

I have been there in August 2022 and it was a good museum and it talks about the history of the Pontiac and it shows the different kinds of Pontiacs and there was at the time.

Downtown Pontiac IL is located on old Route 66. There are several museums and restaurants that are very tourist friendly.

The Pontiac Oakland museum is an absobut treasure. My friend and I got a private tour from the owner Tim. The joy Tim expressed showing some of the most important vehicles was priceless. I feel so lucky to have met both Tim and Penny.

Really amazing for a small town! Become a member if you're local! They have otters, snow leopards, wolves, axolotl, snow leopards, red pandas, sakis, alligators, and many other animals. When my daughter was younger, she loved feeding goats an playing in their area, there's a carousel, budgie feeding is fun, the rainforest part is amazing, and they are adding more areas! In the summer they offer free educational programs, we sat through many of those when my daughter was younger, the bring real animals, and kids can touch/pet them, and learn about them in an interactive manner. The gift shop is decent, concessions area is open till 4 and is OK. The playground outside and the splash pad are amazing! So if you're thinking about visiting, this could be a whole day thing, only that you'd need to pack lunch, not many restaurants close by. We still love to visit, my daughter now loves all those things, we're still members, and the zoo provides a really nice are to walk around with small kids and family. Staff are friendly and always ready to answer questions. We attended a birthday party at their community room, so all in all a great resource for families in the area.

Stopped here while on a family road trip, passing through. It was the perfect pit stop for my toddler to enjoy and burn off some energy. Zoo is on the smaller side but that was exactly what we needed with not a lot of time to spare. We spent about an hour to tour the entire zoo. They had an area under construction, so more animals/exhibits in the future. We would definitely come back if we’re in the area in the future.

Visiting from Chicago area for the weekend. Had no idea that Bloomington Normal had an AZA accredited zoo; Was very pleasantly surprised that they did. $6.50 admission plus a small donation was well worth the time we had. Our favorite animals were the flamingos (right when you walk in) and the wallabies in the Wallaby Walkabout. Throughout the zoo I was excited by just how close they let you get to some of the animals. When compared to some of the larger zoos, Miller Park has a smaller selection of animals, but what they did have were well presented in nice enclosures that you could get close to. After this visit I might prefer smaller accredited zoos such as this to the larger ones. But regardless, this is a great zoo absolutely worth visiting next time you're in the area or passing through and want a fun 1-2 hour experience! We'll be back soon!

We are SO GLAD we stopped by here. We had some other plans in Bloomington and coming to this wonderful zoo was a great way to spend the morning. The animals seemed healthy and happy and there were some areas where the animals were able to roam freely (Australian section and birds in the tropical section). We will be back and are looking forward to the new exhibit (I think South American animals?) under construction. It was a small and intimate zoo but it was extremely high quality.Did I mention RED PANDAS?

A small zoo with genuinely happy and pleasant staff. Nice opportunities to get up close with the animals and interact at times. There's a petting zoo where you can feed the goats. There is a Carousel and simulated hurricane experience inside the zoo. There is also a very large playground right next to the zoo. It shares the same parking lot. Miller Park zoo is definitely worth going to and experiencing. We will be back. My children's ages ranged from 1 to 11. Everyone had fun: even the adults.

went to the zoo with a couple of friends and their kid it was really neat to see some animals you wouldn't see at a bigger zoo only thing i wish is that the bird enclosures hadn't been closed due to the bird flu going on in the county but i understand that it was for the safety of the animals was fun to learn about the otters as they trained and fed them

Beautifully well maintained zoo. While in the Wallabe enclosure we got to see one jump one end to the other! All the Kookaburras laughed at same time & Pink co*ckatoo said Hi & giggled. The large tortoises walked a bit. The red panda beautiful. The Sumatran Tiger we watched for a half an hour so majestic. So many endangered species to see here. We will be back!!!

A very nice little zoo with a lot to see really up close and personal. Took us about 90 minutes to see it all but we didn't do the petting zoo portion. There's also a big playground right outside in the same parking lot. If you're driving by on the interstate and need a fun pit stop, this is perfect.

Our first time visiting was in Father’s Day 2023.A great time for all of us. 8 people in total. Gram & Gramp, 2 adult sons with their loved ones and 2 babies. Age range 62 - newborn. Fun for everyone. A great way for families to spend time enjoying zoo and celebrating the Dads.

VERY IMPRESSED with the Miller Park Zoo. Admission tickets were I think $7 or $8 bucks. Wife and myself both had a zoo date for under $20. The animals and zoo scenery were above expectations coming from a smaller zoo. I come from chicago where brookfield zoo tickets are like $50. The turtle exhibit was so fun to watch. The walking paths were very well kept and gets very close to the animals.Check out this little gemHighly recommendCheers!

5 star Zoo, the only "issue" I had was they wouldn't allow me to bare chest box the gorilla. The staff politely led me to the gift shop where they told me I could buy a stuffy and fight it at home. Will definitely return later this summer.

My son's favorite zoo of all time and he has been to zoos from coast to coast and everywhere in-between. He loved the rare tiger, the real tree in the snow leopard exhibit, the anteater, and the axolata.

I had such a good time here! I think this zoo is the perfect size, everything is super close together so you don't have to walk forever to get to a specific section.For a zoo on the smaller side, I didn't expect it to have such cool animals, but there were red pandas, flamingos, otters, a tiger, and so many others! You can get super close to some of the animals because the fences are right where they hang out in their areas. We got to pet a goat (it might have been a different animal, I'm not sure) because it came right up to the fence at the petting zoo.I'd say we waited between 3 and 5 minutes, only because there were a few families in front of us, but it took less than a minute when it was our turn.Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely recommend going there if you are passing through or just looking for something to do for an hour or two.

Not a real wagon, but more of a large yard decoration. If you a near by it is worth stopping to see it, but I would not drive out of your way. My 3 year old really like it, but older kids will not be impressed.

This is a nice little excursion on a road trip. It is only a few miles off the main road, and you can continue to pick up the highway at the next exit. It is well preserved and clean with plenty of parking. Fun to see things like this and break up the trip and walk around for a minute with really losing a lot of time. Well worth the few minutes it took.

Kinda cool looking wagon. Interesting why this was built. Nice little side trip to see it.

The World's Largest Railsplitter Covered Wagon is a landmark right off of Interstate 55. It is a neat attraction, and you only need 5-10 minutes to make a quick stop and snap a few photos.If you like roadside attractions be sure to take some time and see this. If you need a bathroom, the American Legion next door is open to the public and has bathrooms available.

It's lost it's cover but it's still huge. You can't climb on it. Technically they call it the world's largest rails platter. I think they should add some ox in front of it so Abe can get moving lol.

If you an extra 10 minutes, it’s a fun way to stretch your legs because it’s not too far off the highway. It needs some upkeep and yard work. Fun for the kids to see.

Most flock to Springfield, IL for Lincoln. This roadside attraction featuring President Lincoln on a wagon is not too far from Springfield. The near by watermelon christening site is worth to visit too.

This is such a neat place to visit if you’re in Lincoln. If you’re traveling Route 66 this is a must see spot. This is the World’s Largest Rail splitter Wagon. Great photo spot. #bucketlist

Cool Roadside attraction along Route 66 in Lincoln Illinois, plenty of parking nearby with a information kiosk in front. Definitely a sight to see if you are in the area.

We stopped to visit the Covered Wagon in the beginning of May, 2023. Unfortunately the wagon has been damaged by high winds. As such the attraction is under construction to repair the damage. You can still see it and take pictures. But it is taped off to keep folks at a distance.At this point, the wagon is on jacks and is missing its left rear wheel. Although Abe is still piloting the wagon. He says hi.

This covered wagon in Lincoln, Illinois, is the largest covered wagon in the world and is located near historic Route 66. The 24 foot tall statue of Abe Lincoln reading a law book is quite impressive to say the least.

So the state it was in when we visited is not a representation of what it actually looks like. The low score is from my initial visit. Looking into it for this blog post, I would rather like to see it in it’s former glory as it looks really cool!Okay, so with all that in mind, my friends and I left Springfield after a day of exploring. On the way home, we saw the sign for this covered wagon. I asked everyone if they wanted to stop and check it out. They didn’t care… so 10 minutes later, we find ourselves looking at the wagon… or the damaged wagon. As stated above, it seemed to have received some storm damage and was in the process of being restored, so it was in really bad shape.But we had some fun taking goofy photos in front of it. It was muddy out, so we couldn’t explore around the area too much. I have visited Lincoln, IL a few times since this photo was taken, so next time I am down there, I hope to have new/better photos of the wagon. It really does look cool from seeing other people’s online photos.Plus, it’s a nod to Illinois and the USA’s history since it has Abraham Lincoln on it.The link to the website provided below is not to the Wagon’s actual website… because it does not have one. Nice smaller zoo. My fiance was very happy with the three giraffes. It was very quiet with not many people, but it was Monday afternoon. This was actually a plus for us since it seemed more intimate without a bunch of people.

Terribly disappointed. The whole reason I went there was to see a naked mole rat which was featured on the website.( the only other zoo with naked mole rat is Bronx).There is major construction there, you can see like 3 animals in total.But weather was nice and walking through the zoo was nice, hence 2 stars.

Overall experience is awesome. Tickets are little pricey but still we can visit this one. The setup is quite nice, particularly the wooden bridge which gives access to giraffe viewpoint are wonderful. Lion viewpoint is quite adventurous, the lion is indeed roaring and rocking here.

Im not a fan of zoos but this one seemed clean and well taken care of. Amazing what they can do right in the middle of your neighborhood!

It's a small zoo but the kids enjoyed themselves. They do not have a carousel or train like some other zoos but my kids didn't notice. Can get through the zoo in about an hour, 2 max. Most animals were active when we were there in mid March with temps in 50s. Only animals that were still not in exhibits due to cold were the alligator and tortoise as expected.

Very nice and well kept zoo right in Peoria. All of the exhibits were easy to see in 1 day and there were employees who were able to talk about the animals. Do not sleep on this zoo if you have never been!

This zoo needs some TLC. We enjoyed it, but it's not as nice as it was when I went in 2008.I love being able to get close to a giraffe. I wish we could have been able to feed it ourselves. I didn't think it was quite worth $5 just to stand closer to it. The Walk About was probably my favorite part. I didn't read the sign and had a big surprise when there was a Wallaby right inside the gate just sitting there 😳😂I thought the exercise trail/QR codes were really cool!

The best small town zoo around. We drove down from the Quad Cities and it was absolutely worth it! We will definitely be coming back again and again. The design is great they definitely took line of sight into consideration because you actually get to see the animals. The Australia walk about is so cool! Being so close to the animals free roaming around is awesome. Feeding the Giraffe is the best! The amount of shade going through the zoo is great! You aren't baking in the sun the whole time you're there, you're actually in the shade most of the time. Their food and drink options are great and they don't cost an arm and a leg like other places. The gift shop is large and has a great selection, again it is very reasonably priced. Just all around a fantastic zoo.The one "bad" thing I do want to say is the walking paths are a little beat up. It was a little difficult pushing a stroller and walking you do have to watch out for potholes and large cracks. There are also some steep inclines that older and disabled might find difficult.

Africa part of the zoo is good, the rest of the areas are not at all appealing. There is large snake I was surprised with the size of the snake it’s huge. The lion doesn’t have enough room I feel like and over all it’s ok one time thing. The cafeteria hardly has any items on the menu, even those that are on menu weren’t offered as their machine broke.

Not very many animals. It was an OK zoo. Was it work 12.50? Not really in my opinion. But we did go at the end of March. 🤷‍♂️

Okay, so I mostly went here for my boys, ages 3 and 6 years, but ended up entertaining not only myself, but my 10 and 8 year old girls. We got to climb into actual Caterpillar machinery, learn about engines and saw a few of their best marketing campaigns. We enjoyed ourselves.

this place has a cool exhibit, lots of interesting history displayed, and very knowledgeable and kind staff. Norbert, one of the retired CAT employees, was very knowledge in the field and was more than willing to go the extra steps to help us learn about the history of CAT and how it became the company it is today. if we ever were in town again, we would 100% come back and plan of recommending this place to others!

A great place to visit if you’re interested in the history of Caterpillar. There are many things too see but the only thing that will catch your eyes is the big mining truck. There are some pretty cool simulators which you can sit on and try using the different controls. The employees working here are retired Cat employees. I was assisted by Skip and Rose. Had a great conversation with both of them. Very kind , sweet and knowledgeable. Thank you.

It's great fun for boys ages 1 to 62! This was a fun cousin memory. Kids under 12 are free, and adults are only $7, so it is a very cost-effective family activity.

If you like to know about Caterpillar history it is a good place to visit. The tour starts with a video about the global footprints and the services the company is doing. When you go downstairs you can witness the 100 year old long history and the company's evolution.They showcased every possible product they produce and there are some simulators in which you can sit and operate, and you can feel the machine operation. There are some CAT merchandise available for sale upstairs.

Not only was this place awesome to see, but every single person that worked there was absolutely amazing! They even took the time to teach my young kids how to maneuver the simulation machines and the few vehicles that they could get in. Would definitely recommend going!!

Very well done and cool museum. After reading some reviews, thought it would be smaller than what it was, but thought it was overall a well done history of the company. Getting to see some equipment on display was fun and then the simulators were cool as well.

Lots of fun for the whole family! There are simulators to try, Cats to hop on and sit in, a seven room engineering museum type thing- and all of the employees are really nice too.

Truly enjoyed watching the bulky tractors and engines. Good place to visit with your family. The staff were so kind. But the clothes at the store were quite expensive.

We saw a sign for this place on the highway and visited it on a whim. Street parking is available, which you can pay for easily by phone. It is 7 USD for adults and free for the kids. You enter the cargo area of their mining truck to watch a short video, then take the stairs to the display area. Very clever way to display and get people to appreciate the truck's size. The kids enjoyed the simulator, which lets you practice several pieces of equipment. Much better quality than those simulators you find in other places. I guess these were developed for actual training.

It is very cool to see the history of how it started from a small to large truck. The simulation is very great. There is a cinema in a big truck. This museum is worth your time.Only one negative - there don't have to access to offer such subtitles (closed captioning). I hope they can provide them for deaf or people who are in need of it.

You start the experience watching a movie in the back of a large mining truck. Then you continue on a self-guided tour of the history of CAT. Kids can climb into various CAT machines. There are interactive experiences to drive CAT bulldozers and excavators. We spent about an hour there.

I have swing by at the visitor center aiming to learn more about CAT history and legacy, in special regarding the entrepreneurship across the decades.As supplier it was a honor.

We went right when it opened on a Thursday morning so it wasn't crowded at all . All of the workers are very knowledgeable and very friendly. Everyone knows that the park has a one way drive around most of the park and yet there is still goofs think that it isn't. There is even signage stating that after the parking area by the dog park. Had to remind someone and got an I know reply and yet why was he trying to the wrong way? Also was honked at for not letting go before me even though I had the right away

We took our grandkids to Eagle Point Park, we wanted to take them to see the castle, and have them go up inside. We then took them to the playground where they had a wonderful time!

It was rainy out... a friend wanted to take me to show me the view, which was gorgeous. Apparently a lot if events held there - I can see why! Didn't get to see any of the rest of the park, but a nice stop - especially since he went out of the way to show me the view here!

Absolutely beautiful park. The views are amazing. Great play grounds for kids. Picnic areas for family's. A dog park. A beautiful castle that over looks the river. Definitely a must see. Weather your from the area or just passing threw. You have to come check this park out.

From our first visit in 2017 to finding the most beautiful setting for our wedding, we love this place.

This is a very old city park. The park is very well maintain and the views over the Mississippi are fantastic, looking out over the lake formed by Lock and Dam 13. There is a overlook tower, that kids love that is built of stone with stone steps going up. There is a stone bridge built over a deep ravine. My grandsons used to love playing on the bridge. The park has a newly remodeled lodge with a large outdoor patio, where they can have weddings. The lodge has a kitchen and nice bathrooms, perfect for family get to gathers, with a beautiful view of the river. Also there are 2 nice playgrounds, and an additional roofed area for picnics. Great place for family reunions.

Great place to take the kids. Just be careful with your adventurous toddlers, I forgot how tall and narrow the stairs were.

Kids loved the little castle and the playground. They also loved the water feature. Beautiful overlook of the Mississippi River by the castle too.

It is a beautiful, soothing place. Green and peaceful. Today’s temperature is almost 95 degrees, which is a little exhausting for us to hang around. Will explore again. Great place.

Pretty cool area. Castle was my favorite part. I drove about an hour to check it out and it was a bit underwhelming for the length of travel.

The park is so lovely. Came to see take my dog to the dog park, which is nice and well kept. The trails outside the dog park are also great to explore. The park as a whole is clean and quiet and you get great views of the Mississippi.

The dog park is one of the nicest in the country. We're lucky to have this resource.

Love this park! One of the first places my family and I visited before moving to Clinton. Fun year-round. Great hiking trails, scenic views, playgrounds, Christmas light displays, Frisbee golf, dog park, the awesome stone lookout tower!

Nice fenced dog park area, $3 entry, $1 each additional dog. Playground for the kids and good parking. There is a "castle" feature to see if you continue down the park road. Nice old fort or lookout, they were putting up decorative winter lights when I visited.

This is super cool and I wish I knew about it earlier! Just beautiful ❤️

Riverboat Twilight - Mississippi River Cruise! Some pictures of my 2 day cruse on the Mississippi from Le Claire Iowa to Dubuque Iowa. Great people, good food and wonderful memories! I loved the entertainment! As we traveled up the river the tree colors were just beautiful. I learned so much about the Mississippi and life on the river! If you have ever thought about taking this trip I highly recommend you go! 😊👍👍👍

Loved the 2 day cruise. The food is amazing and plentiful. If you go hungry, it's your own fault. The Captain is very knowledgeable of sites along the river.

This is a great trip! The boat is beautiful, the food is delicious, the captain is very knowledgeable about the river, and the staff works very hard and is friendly. Scenery is exceptional. Eagles, pelicans, and gulls are plentiful. I love how the captain points out all the interesting things, wildlife, tows, and history of the river. It is a great place to relax and ride.I have taken this trip 2 times now and also the 1 day trip in the fall. I recommend highly.

Very relaxing cruise with wonderful staff! They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. Food is excellent and they will make accommodations for dietary needs if you communicate that ahead of time! We did a full day trip and it was enjoyable. It was a very hot day but if you sit on the shaded side of the boat, it is quite pleasant. Boat is air conditioned if you get too hot. Definitely see lots of eagles and even pelicans on the cruise. We will be back!

We took the Saturday morning cruise up to Guttenburg and back. The captain gave a lot of cool information about the history along the river. We saw about 30 bald eagles. The inside was air conditioned if you got hot. Nice light breakfast and then a mid morning snack. The brisket for lunch wasn't so hot, but the desserts were yummiest. We stopped in Guttenberg and strolled the quaint town and had ice cream at Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream. All in all it was a very relaxing and beautiful ride on the river.

Very relaxing enjoyable trip up and down the Mississippi. The captain was very informative. Saw lots of eagles. The food was very good. Always something to snack on. Entertainment was good. Spent the night in Dubuque and that was smooth. As advertised luggage was in the room waiting when we got there.Plenty of seating on 3 decks to enjoy the outside. I would definitely recommend this trip.

We had a lot of fun. We were on the 1 1/2 hour ride that started at 1:30 PMI am fairly new to the area and I quickly fell in love with the river so this cruise was very exciting to me.We sat on the top deck in rocking chairs, just relaxing and chatting with the other passengers. We all decided we wanted a drink and we all got a Mississippi Mudd Slide, it was amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves!

I'm a quad city native i've been on this boat several times. It's a very fun and family oriented. I wish I would do longer cruises on this ship. They also accommodate having a service dog, and I really appreciate that. Definitely Encourage reservations. Tickets sell quickly.

The last two days have been wonderful. This company really does a great job of showing their customers a good time. If you've never been on a cruise and a little nervous, give them a try. You'll be sold.

Took the day trip from Dubuque to Guttenberg and it was a great day. The food served was phenomenal. Beautiful ship and a nice way to see and learn some things about the river. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing boat ride! Mom always wanted to see the Mississippi River so we made the roadtrip to Iowa from burbs of Chicago (such an easy little road trip!). A 90 minute 3 decker boat ride was $20.00 per person- smooth wonderful ride & plenty for chairs! Drinks on the top deck! The Captain was very informative & a wealth of information. So glad we made the trip, mom's grin & happy relaxed face said it all! Thank you to all who take care of all of us visitors!!

This is a must. Book in advance and enjoy a two day trip. We had the best weather, the crew was amazing. We played a trivia game and there was live music. There was so much food I was stuffed like a turkey by the second day

The Riverboat Cruise was something that I'd wanted to do for years I would say over 5 years and I was glad I was able to do this 90 minute cruise it was a little over $20 a person it was about an hour going up the river going to Princeton Iowa and then it was about 30 minutes going down the river with the current. I really enjoyed this it was Scenic it was interestingI think this would be something anyone who wants to experience more of the Mississippi River but doesn't want to spend the day or a day and a half and hundreds of dollars doing this would be a good way to get your toe in the water :-) It was safe staff was friendly I'm really glad I went and would highly recommend

Really relaxing and informative cruise on the Twilight.Captain Kevin would point out wildlife (Bald Eagles, Pelicans, Coots, and many more) using the ships P.A. along with pointing out information about the barges we passed, and the train bridges, and the locks.We took the 2 day cruise that starts in Le Claire, Iowa and goes north to Dubuque, Iowa.The staff assigns a table to you as you board the Twilight which is yours for the duration of the cruise. They fed us a continental breakfast, snack, a plated lunch, another snack, and a plated dinner on the first day. The food was pretty good!We stayed overnight at a hotel in Dubuque and had Breakfast at Tony Roma's. Then back on board we had a snack, plated lunch, another snack, and a plated dinner.All the crew is friendly and very helpful. There is a well stocked small bar on the 3rd deck with many different beers. And they have souvenir glasses you can buy for your mixed drinks or wine.The gift shop is open like an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. There was magnets, key chains, light jackets, t-shirts, blankets, and other fun things branded with Riverboat Twilight embroidery.Make sure to up on the 4th level to the pilot house, and look at the big wooden steering wheel.Totally recommend the Riverboat Twilight as a relaxing 2 days.

Great place to visit if you're a fan of American Pickers, it's very clean and neat because they still film new episodes there. I like their t-shirts & stickers, staff was very polite and evenly told me about Franks recovery progress.I will be back soon,LaClaire is a beautiful little town on the Mississippi River.

Hubs was wishing more of the big items were for sale, but all in all it was a fun excursion! Loved the Nashville shop and so glad we finally made it to Le Claire!

It's a cool stop if you're a Pickers fan. Expect it to be set up more like a mini museum and gift shop. We'd already been to the Nashville location and knew what to expect. There's something extra special about coming to the original location in LeClaire. Some employees were just stocking merchandise, but a few were very knowledgeable and could answer questions about some unique items.

The store is literally 5-10 minutes off the interstate and very easily accessible. This is a TELEVISION SHOW location! There are souvenirs for the show and some items they’ve picked that are for sale. If you are looking to pick through lots of rusty gold go do what Mike & Frank do… this is more of an homage to the show which I enjoyed immensely with my 7 year old daughter.

It was neat to see many of the items that they have picked on the shows! The larger facility was not open to the public when I went due to shooting part of the show but the smaller shop was so quaint. The staff were super helpful and friendly!

If you like hilly hiking trails, this is a good place to go. Just be aware that the trails are narrow, and there is a lot of poison ivy by the trails. It's a good idea to wear long pants for the hikes.There are plenty of nice picnic areas and shelters in the park. The overlooks to the river are amazing. The camp ground is not crowded and pleasant to stay. A busy railway is close by, if you are not a deep sleeper, bring a few good ear plugs.

Some of the trails are a little bit overgrown, so I would recommend longer pants if you don't like that. There are a couple of restroom areas and are well maintained. Lots of cool views especially in the fall time! I would also recommend going through all of the trails in one day, it's quite the little day hike!

Went up there with group of close friends and family. Was Packed at one of the popular sites bc they had a group of young climbers, so we drove down a little farther to the Face of Doom. We setup three ropes and spent the day. Wasn't packed at all back there, two small groups of two people came and used our ropes. Here's a picture of one of the climbs. It would of gotten 5 stars but since 3/4s of the park is closed the remaining climbs have been polished making it not as much fun as it used to be 10 years ago or so. But still had one of the best days of the year for sure.

Mississippi Palisades State Park is a great place for family camping. Campsites are spacious and the access to the Missouri river is easy. Nearby, Savannah, offers supplies and restaurants, and other small towns nearby are fun to visit. Maquoketa caves are terrific and it’s only a stones throw to visit lovely Galena. There are some lovely overlooks to hike to I understand but we did not make it to them.

It was a gorgeous stop! The point of my trip up there was to get in some hikes/walks... see the leaves changing (I was a little early, so not a ton of changes yet)... and get some great views.... My friend did not disappoint by bringing me here. Many asked if he was taking me to this park - so glad he did because it was beautiful! Once I can get my knees fixed and I can hike even further, I want to go back as I was limited to one path before pain kicked in. But even with bad knees, the trails aren't that bad at all - it killed me nit to go on more. Can't wait to go back! A great place to visit!!

We spent a wonderful weekend in April 2002 at the state park with BSA. The park was in good condition and the bathrooms were nice and clean. The ground was wet but it’s that time of year. I will definitely be back

We were staying in the area and drove out to see the sights. It didn’t take long to drive between the various lookouts and there were short walks to the various platforms. Almost all of them had benches to sit on and soak in the sights. It wasn’t crowded when we went - in fact, we saw a couple groups leaving and one person sitting at a table, but we were otherwise alone in the woods - save a furry friend we found on the way out… 🕷🕸The northern platforms are accessible by slopes, the southern ones had more stairs. They were all well-maintained.

Really enjoy visiting this park. I have been visiting this park for the past 30 years and it always has great views, good trails, and we always seem to meet great people out here! The spring wildflowers are a treat on the Sentinel trail.

Absolutely breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Amazing how the railroad tracks run right along the edge. Lots of little over looks on the ledges to look out, trails, camping. Nice bathroom facilities. Amazing wildlife and nature. Trails and trails. Gorgeous and peaceful. Tons of grilling and picnic areas and also plenty of parking.

This park is great for camping. Lot of camping sites available. There are few point where you can drive for awesome view. Few hiking trails are also available. The route to this park is also beautiful.

Trails are rugged and offer a good hike and some good views. However, it is quite clear the State of Illinois doesn't take care of the park or the trails. Hiking paths not updated or taken care of.Grass paths overgrown and tree trunks laying the middle of the trail. I will not be going back anytime soon. Would have given it one star except for the views.

Just a 2.5 hour road trip out west towards Iowa from Chicago. The weather was cool from the rain passing through. Luckily the trails were mostly dry. This park is well-known for the lookout points over the Mississippi River on the Sentinel Trail and the Sunset Trail. The Sunset Trail is easier and the lookout point is accessible by car. Most of the hiking trails were well-maintained, but there were a few overgrown sections, especially the Prairie View Trail (short loop). I recommend you skip it and go straight to the Pine Trail which leads down to the Twin Sisters (rock formation). Overall, beautiful natural park. I would love to go back and camp out here to watch the sunset over the Mississippi River.

Beautiful quiet place. The closest thing to Tennessee mountains you will see in illinois. Steps to the view pictured aren't bad, but it is not handicap accessible.It's worth the drive.

My camping experience at Mississippi Palisades State Park was absolutely wonderful! The natural beauty of the park is truly breathtaking, with stunning views of the Mississippi River and unique rock formations. The campgrounds were well-maintained and had all the necessary amenities.The hiking trails offered a variety of scenic routes, and I had a fantastic time exploring the diverse landscapes. Whether it was hiking along the riverbanks or climbing to higher vantage points for panoramic views, there was always something captivating to see.The park staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and any inquiries a breeze.

Lookouts beautiful, after reading other reviews about the bugs I was worried but it was not that bad at all. Ranger Very nice, we camped in a tent,.went fishing, and hiking. The bathrooms could use some updating but flush toilets and hot showers. It is dog friendly

This was a really nice experience. Floor upon floor of exhibits. On our visit we saw the amazing Women in Sports over the years exhibit. The clothing worn for each sport was highlighted and displayed. It was fascinating. Stop in the gift shop on your way out! Friendly staff and there are activities for kids and a place where they can do art projects.

Last year I went to the Figge for the first time for our Art Educators of Iowa concert and I was absolutely flabbergasted about why I’d never been before. First, the were excellent hosts for our conference but I really want to compliment the curators. When I had visited there was a very diverse showcase of artists, and they were also honoring Dia de los Muertos. The space is large enough to spend an afternoon looking and learning about the artwork. I would recommend looking for any events that they host in the gallery as well; we participated in a sound bath meditation that was really special.

As artists ourselves we were pleasantly surprised at the artworks on exhibit! Excellent * we enjoyed it very much! An added bonus - it was a free entry for seniors and they also had entertainment by the UNI dancers which was very nice!

Terrific museum. We were fortunate to visit on a day with free entry for the entire family! Helpful staff, great collection of 19th and 20th century American and European art. Bonus points for easy parking.

Love this place!! Great for the kids! They have awesome permanent galleries that are awesome to look at every visit and they have awesome temporary exhibits. We went to the women and sports through history which was fascinating, we went to the wizard of oz exhibit which was to die for as an avid collector of all things oz! They also did a Buddhist relic tour once that was soo moving! Great space for hosting private events and they also show films from time to time that are fascinating!

I love that the Figge Art Museum has worked on inclusivity and representation in their curation of art. They also offer multiple free entry opportunities so everyone has opportunity immerse themselves in the art.

We went to our annual family reunion, and this museum was a great pass time in the area. Very interesting mix of art and perspectives. Extra kudos for the “Anne Lindberg: think like the river with poet Ginny Threefoot” installation.

One day activity for those who live in Quad cities, the Museum displays arts created by students of different school districts in the nearby areas. They also displayed fashion in the US, back in the 1800s.

What a treasure for Davenport, IA! I highly recommend visiting this beautiful museum if you appreciate fine art. I can tell that it’s run by true enthusiasts & lovers of the art world. Such a unique place! Great gift shop too!

This is a wonderful small town museum with a varied collection stretching from European masters to Haitian multimedia. The Ansel Adams collection and the Grant Wood exhibits are not to be missed. Wonderful location on the shore of the Mississippi and there is a nice coffee bar and terrace. Overall a star and we give it four clams ( five stars on the millennial rating) on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.

Oh Figgee Art Museum was a Blast from the PastI just happen to go the weekend of Halloween and they had Day of the Dead displays a fortune teller a wet bar a lounge like a little museum and they had a photo place you can put a hat or funky glasses. I did bothe. Drinks excellent. They also have their own gift shop. Parking Great it's the building to the right of Figgee. I believe that is North Very clean place easy access I'm mobility and had plenty of room to push my walker w/ me

The Figge is such a great resource for the community! There’s so much to see and learn about here - whether you’re really into art or not. The Life and Art of Charles M. Schultz was fascinating, and the works by local art teachers in #Beyond the Classroom was inspiring! There’s something for everyone here! I’d highly recommend a visit!

This place is really nice between the rooms and casino. I believe her name was Connie at player services but she was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. All staff greeted me and were very nice. Highly recommend this place even if its just for the hotel. The casino however does seem to have high payouts compared to most casinos.

Buffet was sad for a price 30.00 meal. Prime rib overcook, Soup was disgusting coagulated half cooked prefab mess . The chicken was overcooked, the serve staff(not wait staff) was overstressed and undermanned- It was ridiculous. I felt sorry for them. Half of the food items offered were empty or dried out and often mislabeled. I was a waiter at one time so I can give them a break but come on Bally's get your act together. One thing positive to say they finally added so low sugar desert options which should have been present from the get go considering they clientele often were older and likely more often than not have dietary concerns including diabetes. This is why they got a two star and not a one.

First they sent us to a room that the key didn't work. Maintenance came up and got us into the room. Ten minutes later they called saying they put us in the wrong room. Moved us to an identical room on another floor. Said they reserved the room to someone else the following day. It was identical room on a different floor. Then climate control only put out cold air. Wall paper was peeling off. Handle on restroom door was ready to fall off. Shower was great. Priced to high

We ate buffet and played slots. Not overly impressed with anything or any staff. Waitress in buffet was the only one friendly. No valet, old people need that, cold or hot! Parking has always been awful there. The 2 minute competition games were very unorganized to a stranger and the 2 girls running it tried to ignore me asking where and what to do. They were busy talking together and laughing. People in line were more helpful. Sorry to complain as I love to have fun!

Went here for anniversary. Was really not impressed. The buffet closed at 5 on Sunday. The sports bar was nice for a quick bite. Our waitress was awesome, wish I could remember her name. Slots were very tight

I didn't have too good of an experience. In the time I spent there I did not see very any people "winning". I understand its gambling but out of everyone there during the time I was most casinos would of shown some significant wins. But I didn't see a single hand pay or even heard about anyone getting g a big win. Now that doesn't mean it didn't happen but it explained why there wasn't as many people ther. For the amount I played I should of had more than 1 win over $20. Needless to say I will go "across" town to another casino before I come back here.

We were very impressed with this casino. The rooms were clean and very good-sized. All the staff were very friendly and helpful 🙂 The food was very good. Friday fish fry was very good, cod done to a tea. The salmon was some of the best I have tasted 😋 The casino is smoke-free, and we were able to play the slots. The slots allowed us to play and get some bonus. We were all happy we stayed here. Definitely will be back.

I love their buffet. The brunch buffet is amazing. Everything from bacon and eggs to prime rib and all the side dishes. We were there for Mother's Day and the place was very busy, but the staff kept up with everything from serving food to clearing tables. I'm not into gambling, however my wife is and she is very happy with Bally's. We recommend this business.

First time there I thought it would be a little loud since it has a major casino in it as well but was surprised how quiet it was in the rooms,does have room for truck parking but could have a number to call front desk for truck drivers to call and and maybe send a valet golf cart driver to pick the driver up, it is a bit of a walk for truck drivers. I'm a travel nurse and was thoroughly enjoying going to Bally's quad cities every 2 weeks when I had some down time. I was receiving some great deals/offers via email and snail mail making it possible for me to afford to stay a couple days and play. Then in June the offers stopped... so I stopped going. Guess they can thank the marketing department for ending my visits.Regarding my stay. Most of the staff made it fun. Housekeeping always accommodating, hotel reservations staff was patient with my room requests and always accommodating as well and always did their best to allow early check in when I had been up all night working, drove all the way from Janesville WI and would show up straight from work still in my scrubs.The room was clean most of the time. My last visit I stayed in a room that had trash on the floor under the chaise lounge and personal items left in the night stand. The bathroom door of heavy wood would not slide easily on the tracks.The buffet was a huge disappointment with long waits when only a few people were actually eating, tables weren't getting cleared and customers were having to wait even though staff was observed standing around talking. Once seated I observed the buffet wasn't getting restocked and when they did and food was spilt in the process the staff just left it there rather than cleaning up the spill.

I think their buffet needs to be open later than 8pm on the weekends, and their crab the extra fee is outrageous when you dont get much for the price. The food was all pretty much put away so there was not much to eat, and the employees were boxing up their own meals to take home while the customers were still trying to get food. If you are going to close that early and have no food- please inform the customers that there is no real selectionPaying $80+ for 2 people to have the experience we did. Not greatWe wanted a different place to eat and it obvious is a place to comeTo during the day or early evening not around 7-7:30pm and have almost all food put away

I am only giving a three star review for one reason. The sheets on the bed were like sleeping been two pieces of card board. Other than the stiff sheets all was well.

They changed the whole name and vibe of the place. Then when I went to get a players card they said I had one, from back when it was Jumors when I was 21. Seems stupid to have a "new casino" but old card.I got married and my name changed and that was an entire issue.

Had a great time at the casino. Did not stay here or visit the buffet. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. The players club ladies were awesome. We only used the free soda machines but the co*cktail servers seemed always around. Very clean casino. We will definitely visit again.

Had a great time at this casino yesterday! I left about $400 ahead, and enjoyed sitting down for a meal at their buffet before leaving for the day.My only complaint was the patron who, upon seeing that I wasn’t using a card, wouldn’t stop pestering me about playing on his. I didn’t, and eventually just moved to another machine. Not exactly something I can hold against the casino itself, but still very annoying!

1st time visiting. Membership included various promotions and a bag 🎒. Staff was friendly, and the room was clean and spacious. Won at the casino. That is always a plus. Sorry I did not get pictures of our Buffet Dinner. Whole fried catfish on Fridays!

Always a great treat being in the smoke free facility and I believe there honeymoon suite is top tier while keeping it quaint with the energy driving up more promotions, gifts, good dining and golf balls out back.

Always a good experience here. Great when you win! Sat and invested $500 max bets on this machine. Finally walked away and came back an hour later and won $800.

I’ve been skiing there for years and it never disappoints. Stayed there with wife and kids. Convenience at your fingertips from neat rooms to delicious drinks and meals at the in-house restaurant. They offer great rental equipment and tune for your personal gear. Variety of ski/snowboarding lessons are also available to those who are interested. At night enjoyed a nice hot tub and sauna while kids splash in the pool.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed the time together. The views were spectacular. We witnessed a sun set that took our breath away. I felt very fortunate to have experienced it with the Love of my life. Thank Jehovah God for his creations all majestic and perfect!

We visited to go on the Alpine Slide and ski lift back up, as well as lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant has fairly limited options, but the cheeseburger pizza we ordered was very good. Beautiful view from the restaurant, which looks nice as well. The slide was very fun, wish it was longer! The ski lift ride back up was just as enjoyable as the slide. It was a gorgeous day and super peaceful.

Excellent views and "mountain top" ski destinations. (Aka midwestern hills).Honestly, though, the town of Galena and this spot situated East of the Mississippi River has views to spare.MIGHT be a low-key "secret" destination, but let it be no secret that the West-facing slopes are proper runs in winter.

Great hills, friendly trainers. The boot renter people could have been a little more helpful. I ended up having to stop due to pain in my feet, which didn't fit well in the rental boots, so I cannot comment on the ski hills very well. I did get refunded everything since I barely used them, and was reassured that I was not the first to quit due to pain. My mother who is a better skier than I had a great time. There is also on site food, which is a little expensive, and not a very large menu, but it sufficed as an after ski snack.

This hotel is high quality and is great for kids! The pool goes up to nine feet deep and they have an Alpine Slide and Zip Line. They have a restaurant and bar as well as a breakfast buffet in the morning. This resort is the perfect vacation spot for you and your loved ones!

Beautiful location with beautiful views, about 20 minutes away from downtown Galena. The resort however, is in serious need of updating, although the bed was very comfortable. Tiny bathroom with very little place to set toothbrush and other personals. Small room with old carpet and decor.The in-hotel restaurant served very decent food and the staff was very pleasant.

DO NOT GO HERE. Worst experience of my life. Only 2 families using the lift, not busy at all and employee managed to not listen to instruction to stop the lift to allow parents to safely enter and exist the seats. Employee did not listen even after repeating myself 3 times to stop lift. Caused my mom to fall and fracture 2 bones which requires surgery. Ruined my entire vacation. MANAGEMENT and employees need to be overhauled to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.This happened with only 12 people in the park. Cant imagine how dysfunctional and hazardous this place would be if it was busy. Save your money vacation and peace of mind.

My mom and I stayed 4 days in Aug. Yes it's old, yes it needs renovations. Mom is disabled-the staff and guests were so helpful and friendly! The scenery is top notch. The rooms are silent at night. Not crowded, pool to myself most the time. Took the boat ride- so educational-make your kids leave the smartphone behind. Please get just one door that's push button for handicap.

We spent a portion of a day at the resort. Mini-golf, alpine slide, zip line, chair lift. . . there was something for everyone in the family. It was a weekday in August, and there were no lines, no waits. The views of the Mississippi River were great, and we had a very nice lunch too. We talked about staying there in the future.

I don't know much about the place, we just stopped by to check out the views and have a look at the facilities. Everything seemed nice, fairly modern. The dining area is great - large comfortable area with great views.

We made a family get away with five adults and two children.We had a room with a view of the Mississippi River.Nice a quiet just what we needed.We enjoyed a soak in the hot tub and pool.We even took advantage of washing and drying our suits after our last swim.

My daughter had lots of fun skiing, but the lack of handicap accessibility in the hotel and main lodge was disappointing. The one available "handicap" bathroom is NOT handicap accessible without leaving your wheelchair in the main bathroom and somehow miraculously getting to the toilet.That being said, the staff were fabulous and kind. I was limited to the main floor restaurant, because every other area had stairs but no elevator access

Good place to take kids to learn. Ski school instructors seemed organized, patient and positive. Several runs with a good variety for all levels. Terrain park looked cool, we didn't try it as our kids were beginners.

I’ve been coming here every February for many years. It’s a good facility, the skiing is definitely fun and the staff are exceptional. However, the rooms could use a little updating and for God’s sake clean the windows!! The view out of the back of the lodge is quite beautiful, but it’s obscured with the film and spots on EVERY window. Consider dusting once in awhile, too. Just saying.

Gorgeous summer get away! Staff is super friendly, food is good and the slopes/grounds in the summer are breathtaking. Sunrises in the front are worth getting up for and a drink and dinner on their deck for a sunset over the Mississippi - wow - you will love it. Get a room with river view to enjoy all day. Really cool tented wedding venue too if you are looking for a unique experience.

This is a very dated resort. There were a lot of little things that could be improved to make it a much better experience. The front desk staff need to be more attentive when it's a busy time for check in or outs. For the price, they could easily provide pastries or bagels for breakfast and still have a sit-down breakfast menu in the restaurant. The towel bar in the bathroom was loose and falling out. Hallways smelled.The room was clean, but it would have been nice to have a regular small table and chairs instead of a plastic chair. The sink faucet turned the wrong wayThe pool was nice, but the sauna didn't work. Also, they may want to periodically check on guests. There were people vaping , with glass beer bottles and one guy didn't want to swim but opened the outside door and then everyone was cold.The cleaning staff was awesome as was the waitress in the restaurant.All in all it was good but needs improvement.

I’m gonna start with the two front desk lady’s were very nice. But with that being said the room was disgusting!!!! It was my bfs and I 1 year anniversary so we booked a jacuzzi suite. As soon as I walked into room it was a no go. Hair all over bed, hair and water in jacuzzi, and the couch was stained and looked so gross I wouldn’t even set my bags on it. Also mold in window area. We decided we didn’t even want to stay in hotel at all anymore because of how gross, the staff was very understanding and refunded us (still waiting for refund although.) skiing was very fun but for how extremely overpriced everything is you would expect the room to be extremely better.

It was only ever my second time skiing/boarding and it was a great experience. They charge 5 bucks to change from boarding to skiing and vice versa which is more than fair. The slopes were great but the weather was too warm this season so the snow got a little slushy. Looking forward to coming back next season.

We have always LOVED Chestnut.This last weekend we went when it was a little bit warmer, usually they keep the snow very well maintained and groomed. We got there around 6pm and it was a little bit slushier than we were expected even with the warm temps. Given that it was rode on all day, we understood. However, as we kept going down the mountain it continued to get less enjoyable with each ride. We ended up being there for about an hour total. This morning I called and talked to Maria (hopefully that's spelled correct) and she was sooooooo kind and understanding. She explained to us that they don't do refunds and agreed to send us a gift card to use another day. Maria I hope you see this, you are the freaking best THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Chestnut continues to exceed my expectations every time we go.

Snow Hill and restaurant was absolutely amazing but walk into the lodge/hotel and things go downhill quickly! Extremely rude staff with attitudes no one smiled everyone was mean mugging the customers. I called to ask about the WI-FI and the front desk lady gave me an ear full. At 11am they’re calling me saying we need to be out of the room by 12 or they’re charging us. The cleaning ladies made so much noise cleaning all morning it literally sounded like a herd of elephants running up and down the halls and in the rooms. Save your money and stay up the road at a Best Western.

Visited on opening day, and I must say, the staff did an incredible job handling the number of people in the restaurant/tavern during the lunch rush.My wife and I stopped just for a quick bite and a couple of drinks, and were seated immediately and tended to well.

We didn't stay at the Chestnut Mountain Resort but we wanted to do something fun while we were at Galena and after doing some research online, we've decided to stop by for a while and ended up playing for hours!Weather was perfect for some miniature golf for $5 a person and we spent about a couple hours laughing and enjoying the nice day. Then we walked around the resort and took some pictures. At last we did the Alpine Slide for $15 a person and took the little ski lift back enjoying the view. It was a great experience and we all had a fantastic day!

Fantastic place. We went about 2 hours before close. Not a lot of people in there but enough to have fun. We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by Lexy. We perused the menu and I ordered a smoked old fashioned. My wife didn’t know what to have and Lexy suggested a co*cktail that she liked. Both drinks were amazing. It was definitely the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. I then wanted to try their gin, and Lexy suggested 50 shades of your mom. Lexy wins again. Smelled EXACTLY like a lemon shake-up. Tasted so good I limited myself to one because I think I could have tried to drink 30 of them. The .5 oz flights of spirits are great for sampling without committing to one you may not like (but they’re all great so that won’t happen) We had an awesome time chatting at the bar with Lexy and I absolutely would come back here again!

We enjoyed the tour of the distillery with Richard. He is knowledgeable and approachable. The bar keep were friendly and offered suggestions. The seating area was comfortable but the majority of the tables are too high for an individual using a wheelchair; everything else was accessible.

This is my second time at Blaum Bros. The staff is always friendly and there is just a good vibe there. They added a lot of new games and decor. Wish I lived closer because this would be my go-to place!

Stopped in here with a group of friends on my wife's birthday weekend. To say the least this place didn't disappoint. Delicious drinks served by both knowledgeable and attentive bartenders for an affordable price. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and quick to answer any question we may had. Our battender explained the drinks in question and offered advice in regards wo which ones we'd probably like based on our normal drinking habits. We all tried several different drinks and even came up with a few of our own. My absolute favorite though was one that was made with their very own Hellfyre Vodka and blood orange... We all had such a good time and we're already planning a return trip in the near future.

It's really nice, comfortable seating in an upscale vibe establishment. The drinks were a decent pour. Try it!

Gary was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed the tour. We had a couple drinks and they were good. My husband enjoyed watching them smoke his old fashioned drink. The bartenders are knowledgeable and gave me good recommendations.

Blaum Bros. has amazing beverages. Each one I tried was very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the Hellfyre vodka- it wasn’t one I would have tried if I had been given it on the tour and I ended up loving it. Dennis the tour guide was great! He was informative and friendly. I appreciate that kids are welcome. Mark the cat was a hit on the tour. The signature drinks at the bar were delicious. The facility is clean and very nice.

We went to Galena for a quick weekend getaway and signed up for a tour at Blaum Bros. Fun atmosphere and very cool bar area! Gary, our tour guide was so friendly and made it so much fun! Very fascinating process to see! And we had some really good drinks! Highly recommend stopping here if ever in Galena!

We went to the location on Main Street in Galena. The place has a great atmosphere. We got You Too, Brutas drink and it was like an orange dreamscicle. We also got to see someone get a smoked Old Fashioned which was fun! Would be interested to go to the other location for a tour and tasting

Fantastic co*cktails and a tour to boot! The tour guide is incredibly knowledgeable about spirits, and history of spirits which added a nice touch to our experience. Samples at the end!We enjoyed a couple rounds from the co*cktail menu, and nothing disappointed. Highly recommend just about everything in the menu. One in our party stated it was the "best damn chocolate martini she's ever had ".Ya'll, the bourbon and the hellfire vodka are worth the visit!

Wow what a place! I had never been to a distillery before so I’m glad my husband suggested a tour of this gem while visiting Galena. All of the staff were extremely friendly and kind and helpful. Our tour guide was great and gave information and a very fun way. I had zero idea going in how any booze was distilled and when I left I understood the process of the things that they distilled!Needless to say the things that we tasted at the end are not my cup of tea so I cannot say whether or not their alcohol is great from a personal standpoint, but so many of the people were commenting how excellent things were and my husband told me his drinks were smooth and flavorful. I love the story of how the distillery came to be. I definitely think that you should check this place out if you are ever in the area!

The tour is free but donations are recommended. Tours run about every 10 to 15 mins. You wait on the porch for a guide to get you. You can take all the photos you want. About 90 percent of the items in the home are original to the Grant family. Plenty of parking.When you are done here head downtown to see an amazing Main street that looks like a movie set from the old days and then head to the Grant/Galena museum. There is a charge as it is separate from the Grant home but very much worth visiting.

Our tour guide was awesome, very informative, was a nice step back in time. So glad Galena appreciates it's history and preserves it so well, and teaches the generations of now the glorious history of then. Thank you for having us and educating us on your rich history! All of Galena was a pleasant experience, Grant House was our favorite stop of all. Check it out and see for yourself! You won't regret it, just kind the back stairs of the Grant House, I feel for whoever had to frequent those stairs they're a dandy.

It's so rare that a historic home still has the original furnishings, but that's what you find in the Grant Home. Yes, the General sat in those chairs. Yes, the family gathered at that table. It makes history so real.Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Katherine, displayed a real passion for the home, the Grant family, and their history. I highly recommend this stop on your next visit to Galena.

If you're a history buff. This is a must see. There's a lot of great history here. All of the tour guides are great. You can tell that they're really passionate about the history of this home. It's just a really nice place to visit. Make sure to bring cash, because they have some cool things you can purchase.

Great history this house is in the middle of a neighborhood that you would never expect that a US president lived there. Guide was very knowledgeable and learned a great deal. Need less than 30 minutes to see the entire thing. Great way to stretch your legs out on a ling trip. You don't need to buy a ticket but a $5 donation is suggested money goes towards the up keep.

This was a place that I had seen mentioned for years but had never visited. I am glad that I waited as they have added air conditioning to the property! The entry cost is by donation and the suggested amount is $5 for adults and $3 for children. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about everything Grant! I learned so much more about our 18th president during this visit. It is truly amazing how people were able to operate without the amenities that we enjoy today and I truly respect the Grant's even more for foregoing slaves!

I had an absolutely awesome time here the other day while there was all the snow blowing in. The tour guide was beyond informative and had just the amount of dry historian humor I always look for and can appreciate. It was a pleasure being able to tour the Grant home, and I recommend it to anyone visiting Galena to stop by and look at everything in the house. I especially loved being able to see it all decked out for Christmas.

Learned so much from this tour, which was partially guided and partially self-guided. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgable!The home was relatively small, but ornate, and featured over 90% original items. The grounds are lovely and also offer a great view of the historic downtown.The house is up on a hill so walking/going up a few flights of steps may be needed.

A cool (as in, both interesting and air conditioned!) visit on a hot summer day. The tour is informative but doesn't overload you with too much information. It's a well maintained and carefully preserved historical gem of the area. There are steep stairs, so be aware if you have mobility issues. Free entry but remember to donate!

The pride and joy of Galena, Illinois! This location is definitely worth a visit. I’d recommend taking the tour of the home. The tour takes you around the inside of the entire house and you can see important items/rooms of the ex-president. The tour guides are incredible at their job and invite curiosity. Afterwards, you can walk around the grounds and see other artifacts and buildings.

Excellent stop while in Galena. The history told by the tour guides is great and only takes about 15 minutes. Our kids loved it too seeing all the antique furniture and way houses were furnished back then. Grant was a fascinating person and anyone who likes history should make this a stop. Runs completely on donations.

A very interesting historical stop. The Grant Home grounds have several buildings to see, including a general store that you can peek inside. The Grant Home has a beautiful view. Our tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable and patient with questions from children. He shared so much information. The house is fascinating. The grounds are clean and in good repair.

Nice place located right next to our hotel. Kinda familiar games with a few of our favorites nesteled in-between some oldies. The bartenders were both friendly and attentive and the drinks were reasonably priced. No big payouts.... however, we played for a long time and didn't lose much either. In the end we came out a little ahead which is more than most can say. We'll return the next time we come through Dubuque and try again.

The concerts they manage to get to the area are somewhat unbelievable. The QShowroom is an absolutely great venue. I think they only sell 600 tickets, you are up close and personal to the stage from pretty much anyplace in the room. Good food reasonably priced. My only complaint is the restaurant should stay open later so you could eat there after the shows.

Positive: Outdoors concert area is great, and you can bring your own chairs so you don’t have to stand the entire time. It was confusing for a first timer but once we figured out how to get our drink tickets we were having a good time!Negative: It’s a casino with carpet floors, so it smells like cigarettes. You can’t bring your kids to have lunch with grandma at the casino even if they’re accompanied by their parents. It’s the only casino I’ve left without making money- so seems unlucky to me!

I called in advance to check if they had over night truck parking. They said yes as long as they weren’t having an event that night. One of the quietest places I have stayed. Truck parking is on the back side. If you are going to the casino it is a little walk but I did see a shuttle drive around. I would call to verify that because I’m not 100%.

Blares music into the parking lot all night for the benefit of ten cars. Despite this attempt to make sure that no one in the hotel next door is able to sleep the place still looks like the physical embodiment of major depression. Do not recommend.

I would have given five stars, but most of the restaurants were closed. The casino is broken into different sections. It would be nice to separate smokers and non smokers. There's a free drink station with soda, coffee, and tea which was nice. Very clean. Machines aren't too bad hitting payouts. Attached to the Hilton Garden Inn. Nice place.

Lost money at Diamond Jo Casino so we decided to come here. Boy, are we glad we did! The slots were much looser and fun to play. Hats off to the casino for not taking the shortsighted vision that many other casinos do to recoup their losses from Covid. This is the smarter play to have slot machines that actually pay out occasionally because it keeps people gambling rather than becoming dismayed, and quit. The layout of the casino is spacious. We didn’t interact with the staff a lot, but they seemed friendly. The whole area was clean. They had a pretty good variety of slot machines; we didn’t play any table games. This is our new favorite casino when we’re in the area.

I have never met such nice people ! My husband was lucky enough to get a hand pay and they waited on him in good time! I love the girls who wait on us for drinks, and the best part, I lost my husband, and they very graciously helped me find him. You are so lucky to have employees like you have!

For the last several years .The machines seam not to pay out like they did years ago..it's hard to get into the bonus. And when you do. You get very little winnings.. it was alot better when I first started coming . When it was greyhound park casino ... I love the triple diamonds. When you used coins. Now it just takes your money. Fun place went there on the last snow storm day. Had the most fun I have ever had at a casino sat with a friend for two hours and turned 20 Into 250.11/2023 update, went today and omg place is completely everything is upstairs and construction has start, tonight no friend joining me but turned a 20 in to 1200

First thing you will notice is the smell, stinks of smoke they could to better with the ventilation. Machines are very tight no payouts. Don’t expect to have fun, you will be cut off from drinking if you cheer at the craps table.

The best part of this casino is the bar by the slots. $4 drinks and you get more than most bars would give you. They have a good selection of machines to choose from, I really liked that they had tons of pennie slots. Although this is a smoking casino, most are, it did not smell horribly of smoke, which I appreciated. The service was friendly and fast and the building and grounds were modern, young and clean. I did not eat at the restaurant as it was close and is most of the time due to Covid. There is a hotel attached which looked nice, there is a restaurant attached to that which looked yummy. I will say that the casino is really small and wish there was more “stuff” to do or more restaurants to choose from. They do have a theater as well.

One of the better value casinos I've been to in a long time. They have pretty low limits, cheap drinks, and a friendly staff. Only wished they had a few more tables open when it gets busier

Great place to see a concert. Very small, intimate venue that is easy access. We stayed at the attached Hilton so never having to go outside is a big plus!

It’s a casino. Either your winning or your not. Very nice. I guess I went at a better time because it wasn’t all that busy. I prefer less noisy casinos so it was good for me. I’ll be back.

Pretty nice venue, beer tent lines are a bit long, at least early in the evening. Not nearly enough parking, but luckily, they don’t tag you for parking in a “improper“ kind of parking place… and no you’ll need to be patient if you stay till the end of the show as there’s pretty much only one way out!

This is not a venue I would ever recommend for seeing a show. Zero traffic management, people jumping curbs and parking all over the lawn and places that weren't even parking. Security was a bunch of local elderly folk in t shirts and also be forewarned you will be standing out on a blacktop parking lot fenced off for show. Upside Jelly Roll and crew put on an amazing performance!

All gambling has been .moved upstairs. Anyone with a walker or wheelchair may have difficulty using the ramp. The machines were extremely tight. Have never won here! We will never return. Diamond Jo is far better!!!!!!

There is a decent variety of slots. I find it a tad tight for my liking, and comps are on the low end. I look forward to when they're done with the remodeling.

Had a good night at the casino. It's going for an update. Building is going thru a make over, looks to continue into 2025. Tables and slots. Food was good, service was a little slow, but it was ok to sit for a bit.

We visited the Q for NFL Wild Card weekend. Extremely upset Saturday night to learn that they didn’t have Peaco*ck network for game and had to watch it in room on laptop. For a casino who is big on advertising their great Sportsbook, and are willing to take all your betting money but not shell out $6.99 to watch a game was very disappointing. The casino is condensed due to renovation which made the smoke that much worse than normal.

The casino is a three star casino inside looks wise. The slots are as tight as can be at any casino. The game selection is limited. The promotions are laughably small. But the dealers are decent. All in all not a good place to go more than once

Great perk: free coffee and soft drinks! Not all casinos have that. Also, very engaging and helpful staff. Shout out to the Craps dealers teaching me how to play!

Looks nice but super smokey. Left my clothes smelling and eyes burning. Hopefully with the remodel they add some air filtration. Would keep me there longer.

One of the best parks along the Mississippi. One great feature is the park keeps the bluff clear of brush and trees so the views a superb.

We had a great time walking around all the different areas at Eagle point Park and Dubuque Iowa. You have a great view of the river and there are a lot of nice walking trails. Definitely worth the $1 that you have to spend to get into the park!

We spent the whole day here. There's so many different spots to get out of the car an to explore. So many different parks the views are just amazing. Lots of spots you could rent and have parties there. We enjoyed the fish pond.

Magnificent park with mature trees. The view to the Mississippi river is terrific! I will be back to explore more.

Beautiful park with something for everybody. Playgrounds, picnic areas, koi pond, trails, scenic overlooks...and the list goes on.

This is a fantastic museum but give yourself plenty of time to check it out.The collection is incredibly varied and surprises are everywhere. My only complaint is that some areas of the museum are so packed tight it's hard to see a lot of the motorcycles. Seeing an awesome vintage bicycle collection was an unexpected surprise. It really helped tie together how much two wheeled transportation has changed in more than a century.Altogether an overwhelming collection with some serious history that deserves more than a quick walk through.

What an awesome museum! Definitely, worth our 2 hr drive here. Very educational, and a ton of vintage items from our childhood. Love it! The employee on duty was absolutely amazing. So fun with a great personality! Highly recommend going! Bucketlist goals! ✅

Neat little museum if you love motorcycles and their history. Not as extensive as Wheels through time, but still a cool place. Unfortunately they will be shutting their doors September 5th, so I rode out on a Thursday just to walk through. Took me about 45 minutes. Glad I went.

I visited in 2022 & thought I left a review, but apparently not. This place is well worth the admission, if you're into motorcycles. There are a ton of cool bikes here and different areas of the museum. All the bikes I saw, had info about the bike.Don't go thinking all the bikes are "pristine/redone", because they are not. Some are on loan/donated and are used bikes, that would probably start up and take you down the road. Some are a blast from the past, whether for speed or a technical wonder for it's time.The museum is set up nicely and was clean when I was there. I do wish they had more room in order to see some bikes better, since some areas are pretty packed.I recently saw that they will be closing this year, and what a shame. I hope I can make it there again, before that day comes. I live a few hours away & well worth the drive.

Come while you still can, as this place sadly closes permanently in the first week of SeptemberIt's a great museum. This was an awesome motorcycle museum, had visited with my brother years ago, so sad to see them closing, all the bikes, memorabilia gone to the highest bidder, but good to walk thru it again

I've passed this place literally hundreds of times each time saying, "I should stop here" much to may sadness I hear they are closing this year. So, I finally stopped. Wish I had gone earlier and more often it's such a treasure and it's so close for me. I feel shame. Anyway, it was fantastic. It lived up to it's "hype".
