Stadium

Fun & Games

The new and modern stadium of the Minnesota Twins offers an amazing fan experience with a guided tour that takes you to parts of the stadium that are rarely seen by regular visitors.

Beautiful baseball stadium tucked away in downtown Minneapolis. The staff is always friendly and the views are always scenic. True baseball fans will appreciate being able to catch both starting pitchers warm up simultaneously. Lots of little restaurants and bars to catch some good food and drinks at. The state fair mini donuts, walleye and cheese curds are a must. The stadium also features a lot of standing room areas to catch the game from. Also, the team store is magnificent. They have anything a Twins fan could want or someone just looking for a souvenir. Plenty of parking around the stadium. If you're traveling from the south you can take the Metro Transit blue line from Mall of America for just $2 a ride. Its about a 40-minute ride but it beats driving downtown. Not sure if it's a good nighttime option, due to unsavory characters along the route that may board the train.

Kaleb Huffman — Google review

Visited this stadium for red sox vs twins game. It’s a huge stadium and very close to downtown so easily accessible by walk. Definitely recommend wearing tons of sunblock if you plan to visit it in summer as it can get very hot. Fortunately we had access to club 360 so we were able to get much needed respite there.

Kirti Parekh — Google review

Going to watch the Twins play here is a lot of fun!Upsides: The whole place is clean, employees are super nice, they care a lot about recycling which is great and it's a very nice stadium in general! Just about every single seat is an amazing seat as well, there is not really a bad spot to watch the game. Parking is super easy to find. Downsides: Only downside is that merchandise/food is expensive but it is also expected to be a lot.

Anna — Google review

Field was really nice and had plenty of restaurants and lots of beer options even for the craft beer lover. The stadium was in excellent condition and had a great family feeling. My only complaint at all was the seats are narrow. I'm 180lbs and I'm not sure any adults can sit back with their shoulders square without touching both neighbors beside you. You have to pull your shoulders forward or almost sit sideways. It's really bizarre.

Neil Natic — Google review

Well I'm glad I got off early because playoff games are early, like 3:30!, however I got to go experience the Twins win their first playoff game in 19 years! Its a real fan friendly ballpark with little games for your kids, and a lot of concessions. Not a bad seat in the house! Plus I love it when their closer comes out! You gotta check it out!

Christopher P — Google review

I've been out to Target Field numerous times over the last few years for multiple Twins games, and I absolutely love it!! Heading out to the ballpark is one of my favorite things to do on a summer day/night, and the experience is always fantastic. Target Field is a gorgeous venue with fantastic skyline views and an awesome backdrop. The food is great and the atmosphere can't be beat. I would highly recommend a trip to Target Field to anyone, baseball fan, or not.. you will absolutely enjoy yourself!

Logan Harrington — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful ball fields, in my opinion. Great seating everywhere throughout this park. Lots of different foods that are always changing. This park has restaurants, stores and even play areas for kids and adults. Lots to see and do if you take the time to really walk around. Go Twins!

Ben Merrill — Google review

We sat in the Delta 360 skybox area and the memorabilia in the indoor area added a lot of history and was interesting to browse. The games offer a LOT of food options. I think anyone could find food from a vendor as some accommodate dietary restrictions. Parking was easy in the ramp next to the field and was pretty cheap! Fun atmosphere and worth a visit even if not a Twins fan.

Natalie Koffarnus — Google review

We had a great time at the bowl game against the Yankees. The staff were very nice and helpful. The view from the Delta sky360 Club seats was great. It was nice to get back inside the lounge to eat food and use restrooms. It was especially nice on a cold night to get inside for some heat. The atmosphere was like a event and that was great entertainment for the kids.

Bas Barath — Google review

Target Field is a baseball stadium where there isn't a bad seat in the place. First base side is where you want to be during day games, but if you are lucky enough to get a beautiful Minnesota evening then you will not be disappointed. No vendors take cash so be prepared for that.

Ezra Campbell — Google review

Beautiful ballpark, it has a lot of places to sit or stand and get drinks. Good amount of bars and great places to eat. I suggest getting the fried cheese curds and the burger sliders from Red cow. Very juicy and flavorful, in a nice bite size package.

Kevin Drost — Google review

I love watching Twins games at Target Field! The stadium is beautiful, well kept, and clean. There are tons of food options (although expensive as expected at this type of venue.) Parking is super easy in Ramp A or Ramp B. I also attended a concert at this venue recently. The sound was great. The seating arrangement was great. I would definitely attend concerts here in the future.

Lacy Daigle — Google review

My favorite MLB stadium for baseball. A definite must-see if you’re traveling and you’re looking to create a fun summer memory. I might be biased but the Guest Services employees are always friendly and helpful! I have always been a MN Twins Fan and will always be one. Thanks for the memories!

Lisa Carmichael — Google review

Went to see the Twins play the Mariners and had a blast. This was my first MLB game, and it was a great stadium to experience a game. It seems like no matter where you are in the park, you have a great view of the field. It is a beautiful field, and if I lived closer, I would definitely buy season tickets.

Darren Johnson — Google review

Awesome stadium. Finally made it here for a Twins game. Now I can appreciate why this stadium is called out as one of the best in MLB. Easy access, great concessions, amazing views of the Minneapolis skyline. Plenty of guest services team members to help with navigation of the grounds.

Ray Davey — Google review

It was our first Twins game ever and boy, what an experience! The stadium was amazing and so easy to navigate. We had great seats above the right field wall and concessions were close by. We were surrounded by families having a great time and everyone was relaxed. The stadium staff were so friendly and pleasant and helpful. The entire atmosphere was great. We will definately go back!

Ryan Vanden Hoek — Google review

This place is electric! Magical even! I love bringing my friends and family here. What better place to get together and share an experience you will remember forever?!?! I am a die-hard Twins fan, but it's about way more than just the game! It's the whole experience. The atmosphere, the people, the food, the lights, all of it! Pure gold. As the great James Earl Jones said, "The memories will be so thick, you'll have to brush them away!" Bring your loved ones. You won't regret it. *Hot tip* Go on a Tuesday if you can. The hot dogs are all $1, and the pop is $2! Cheap food and drinks and a game! Awesome!!!

Roy Solis — Google review

The concourse actually feels a little like a Target. A little sterile, but that's not bad. Good views from all over. Even the worst seats aren't bad. The bleacher area is close to the action. Prices inside are average for an MLB ballpark. The views from within are mediocre, but the park itself is pretty. Hood screens with a good amount of info for statheads. A cool digital banner feature visible from the concourse is pretty unique. They did a really good job overall and the transit planning is second to none.

Ricardo Ramos — Google review

A very fan-friendly experience awaits you at Target Field. I’ve sat in many different sections, and there are great sight lines everywhere. The concourses are wide, offer a great variety of food and beverage options, and are always open to the field, so you never feel too separated from the action. (Very little protection from the elements, so come dressed appropriately for the weather.) There are other diversions as well, including a miniature golf course for the kids. The food is all dreadfully expensive, of course. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the restroom situation which feels inadequate and are not fully handicap accessible. (I had to hold the door open for a gent in a wheelchair today.) it’s well staffed, and the employees are generally friendly and helpful. Overall, still a five star experience and a great place to see a baseball game.

mzee75 — Google review

This is exactly what you expect a ballpark to me. Lots of food and beverage stands, great seating, a beautiful field and plenty of pregame entertainment. One of the friendliest crowds and the scoreboard screens were spectacular. Easy public transit in and out. It’s hard to think of much we didn’t like. A really good ballpark with reasonably priced seating and very helpful personnel. We give it 4.5 clams on the coveted Five quahog rating scale.

Quahog — Google review

Beautiful ballpark! Went two days in a row with six people (four kids). Both days were fun. Kids played bags behind right field where we came in. We sat row 1 in left field on day one. $1 hot dogs on Tuesdays!!!! Day two, I had front row seats in section 307. I didn't know the 300 section was closed in April. We got vouchers to sit in section 101 and paid for upper deck seats. Super awesome!! Great venue and experience!! Go Dodgers!!

Sean Roll — Google review

Target Field was a beautiful stadium!! Great views from pretty much anywhere in the ballpark!! The stadium made it interactive for the fans and it was fun!! That was my first time attending a game at Target Field!! But yea Go Cards 😜

chris boudreau — Google review

Twins Opening game. Big and beautiful. No smoking inside and no re-entry if you leave. Lots of seating. Food/ Drinks and souvenirs are over priced but that's what you should expect. Parking is not ideal, many parking ramps out there and decent walk to the field.I recommend if your not the type of person that needs to get up a lot, to buy seat ticket on the end of the seats where there isn't an entrance so you don't have to get up all the time for people going in and out. There is decent variety of food and drinks. I recommend getting the free refillable pop drinks if you feel you will get many drinks it's worth it since drinks are pricey.

Leah H — Google review

We had a great time. The family concessions stands have cheaper priced foods: $3.99 hot dogs, $1.99 sodas (plus tax), etc.Friendly staff all over the place, including the parking ramp. The light shows for the Twins relievers are a nice touch. The mascot race was fun, the music was banging, and the TWINS won! I definitely recommend it, even if you're not familiar with baseball.

Mitch Arett — Google review

Had a great time at the game. Was able to find a few gluten free options. We did run into a little difficulty when asking about the accessible seating. One person completely disregarded us. We were able to find another person to help us out!

Bethany Schwerr — Google review

Play ball! Traveled from San Diego to watch the Twins vs the Dodgers. T.C., you guys have an awesome park with great food and beer. I can't wait to attend another game here. My respect!

Park

Sights & Landmarks

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a popular tourist attraction with amazing sculptures by famous artists. It's located next to the Walker Art Center and Loring Park, and is open 365 days a year.

It's so fun to walk around and see such interesting works of art. Although museums are unique experiences of their own, being in and around large artwork is just a whole new way to appreciate the art world. I had to do a project on the piece Untitled by Jim Hodges - which is the sculpture made up of 4 boulders that have been faced with colored steel inlays. It blew my mind reading the background of the piece and how it ended up in the walker, so I highly recommend looking into it if you visit!

Amaya Nordos — Google review

Awesome sculpture garden. Stay a while - Listen to the church bell in the distance. The park was clean and everyone was very friendly. If the food truck owners raise their prices of bottled water...it was completely my fault. $1.60 is entirely too inexpensive for a tourist area. I said to charge $3-4 and thanked them for such affordable bottles. You may get lucky and find an art festival in the neighboring park on a Saturday. A must visit while in town.

Katie Sillex — Google review

It's a great place to go for a walk and admire the sculptures. I'm not that into art, but it was worth going here. Kids were making their own sculptures ⛄️ ☃️(snowmen), which is modern, compared to the sculptures made by artists in the last century. People were friendly in the park. It's better to go in summer.

ILAKIYA — Google review

This sculpture garden is not only pretty but fun with some of the quirky art. There are level, paved walks that lead you around to each piece of art and its description. There is a paid car park conveniently next to it. If you find yourself in town, take an hour to check it out.

Britt D. — Google review

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden offers a splendid fusion of art and nature, making it a must-visit destination for both art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. This expansive outdoor gallery, beautifully situated near downtown Minneapolis, features an impressive array of sculptures by renowned artists, spread across a well-manicured landscape that invites leisurely strolls and contemplative pauses.A highlight of the garden is the iconic "Spoonbridge and Cherry" sculpture, which serves as a whimsical centerpiece and a perfect backdrop for photos. The garden’s layout encourages exploration, with each turn presenting a new piece of art elegantly integrated with the natural surroundings.Accessibility is excellent, with clear paths and informative plaques that provide insights into each artwork. Visiting in different seasons offers unique perspectives of the art pieces amidst changing colors and atmospheres, with the lush greens of summer and the striking snow contrasts in winter being particularly memorable. For anyone visiting Minneapolis, a stop at the Sculpture Garden is highly recommended for a peaceful break from the urban rush, offering a serene and inspiring experience that celebrates the harmonious blend of art and the environment.

Akshaya Bhagavathula — Google review

I love this place during the warm season! The cherry is, of course, iconic and a Minneapolis staple! This is a fun place for family, friends, individuals, residents, and tourists alike. There's something for everyone to enjoy. Go check out the interior of The Walker as well! The sculpture garden is free to the public.

Felix Phoenix — Google review

Fun to walk through and see the art. It was cold so we were not able to hang out too long. Creative and incredible artwork. The bridge was especially impressive.

Jon Webb — Google review

This sculpture garden is really beautiful. It's a great place for families. friends, dates and singles. And it's free! But I urge you to make a donation. There are so many displays of amazing art. If you go online to their website, they have information about each art piece and some fun games. The weather was perfect on the day I visited so I was able to leisurely stroll the garden and take some awesome pictures. They do have a Cafe but I had eaten breakfast right before I went.

Vanessa Mallard — Google review

ABSOLUTELY love bringing my littles here. So much positive energy is in this place. One of our top choices close to home, they choose it almost every time for our evening walk. For all ages. Just brings such positive vibes to all. Lost to look at, & lots to read. Beautiful views. Friendly people. If you ever need a family photo done. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance from others! They are so friendly, and willing to help you and yours.Just a great neighbor, lots to do and lots to look at🙃I hope you choose to go there and have a great experience like we do!

Jessica Howlett — Google review

What a unique experience in the heart of the city. From abstract sculptures to poetry, the sculpture garden offers a beautiful walking tour through a quaint city park. Great stop for short visits!

Very cool place! I love the art and the park itself! love taking people there!I recently visited the Sculpture Garden in the Twin Cities and was truly impressed by the artworks and atmosphere. The diverse collection showcased a perfect blend of creativity and skill, making it a delightful experience. The well-maintained surroundings added to the overall charm, creating a wonderful escape within the city. I highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking a blend of art and nature.

Pámela Boveda Aguirre — Google review

If you're looking to do something different in Minneapolis, then consider city sightseeing. The sculpture garden park is strategically carved out of an area that is surrounded by buildings and residential structures that any local or visitor would gravitate to on any given day.It features sculptures from sculptors from around the world. Check it out!

Eman Groove — Google review

What a nice garden to walk around with lots of incredible sculptures in it. This is located right in front of Walker Art Center. There is a bridge that connects this Garden and Loring Park.I loved every single sculptures I saw here but due to about 10 inches snow I couldn't completely enjoy my visit. I highly recommend to wear winter boots during winter time.I took lots of nice photos here. Definitely, beautiful photo spot in Minneapolis which was very easy to access from my hotel in downtown of Minneapolis.

AMY MUNNS — Google review

Large modern sculpture park with a mix of small, large, good, and lame pieces. The cherry on the spoon is worth the trip all by itself. Adequate parking available.

Joe Arozarena — Google review

Such a cool place! One of my favorite experiences that I had on my 4 day trip to Minneapolis. It had even more art than I had imagined, and was a great precursor to visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art. One of the best all around, family friendly places I've been to in all of my travels. Would totally come back on another visit to Minneapolis!

Emily Crombez — Google review

Worth a visit while in Minneapolis. I was surprised at how many sculptures were in the area and that it was completely free to visit. We paid for parking since we weren’t familiar with the area but it sounds like there is free street parking in the area as well. There is something for all ages. The iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry was our favorite! 🍒

Bri Hooker — Google review

Super cool sculptures! Our favorite one was the Spoonbridge and Cherry !land the blue rooster 🐓Not sure if you can just sit anywhere around the sculptures to picnic but there is a designated seating area by the parking lot for that that also provides shade. There’s also a bridge that connects that Sculpture Garden with another stunning park and pond on the other side of the road. It’s very clean, visitors are respectful of each other

Izamar Angulo — Google review

Super cool. Definitely want to see it in the spring or summer time. Needs more art though. The Cherry spoon is definitely the highlight. Would love to see blocks on the trail way of different art to walk along to the next big sculpture. Beautiful place to take your Dog on a walk and the area is very well kept up. Got to see a rare Black squirrel too! There is also a cool bridge to cross over the highway and continues to yet another beautiful park.

J Kusel — Google review

How can you not adore the Sculpture Garden?! Besides being free, it is a fantastic place to enjoy art...right on the edge of downtown. The grounds are well-cared for and bloom with flora and fauna in warmer months. The sculptures are also well-maintained and allow you to get right up to them for the best viewing. You can't beat the cityscape views from the garden either. The Minneapolis downtown is literally right next door. Also next door is the Walker Art Center, making a double-stop almost a must-do. Not too far of a walk away is also the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The garden is open year-round. Due to location, there is no free parking but, the pay lot at the Walker is reasonably priced, especially if you're hitting more than one location while in the area. This is a gem in our city and we will always be back and brag it up!

Starlette Skye — Google review

The garden was redesigned and refreshed in the mid 2010s. If you haven't visited since then, I recommend going. The new portion on the hill next to the Walker has a zigzagging path, a grove of chalk maples, and offers some nice views of the park and the Minneapolis skyline beyond. A day off school and beautiful fall weather made for a memorable outing for our family.

Daniel Friberg — Google review

This was a really cool free walk around when we were visiting Minneapolis recently. On a nice day bring a picnic. I would wait a few weeks as the plants were somewhat dormant still.

Nicole Sellers — Google review

We got to check it out later in the day, and it was really pretty and the moon was popping out! I really enjoyed walking around and learning about the different sculptures. Parking wasn’t hard to find, and there was people there, but not too many where it was crowded or hard to walk around and see the sculptures.

Ann Hajostek — Google review

Beautiful garden, gentle walking paths, art pieces were spaced nicely to allow photos. Obviously a popular spot on a day with nice weather but not so crowded as to interrupt personal enjoyment of the space. Bathrooms and food trucks available. It was $6 to park in a parking garage. Take your time and enjoy the variety of art pieces.

Specialty Museums

The Mill City Museum is a fascinating history museum located in the ruins of an old flour mill on the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. It tells the story of Minneapolis from its beginnings as a small settlement on the banks of the river to its present status as one of America's most thriving and culturally vibrant cities. The museum contains a wide range of exhibits on its industrious past, including artifacts and artworks from that era.

Wonderful museum and staff. I have been twice now and the tours were both a little different and my mother enjoyed it a lot. The flour tower elevator tour to start is a step back in time. Then going up to the 8th & 9th floor for a better view of the ruins and the Mississippi is breathtaking. Beautiful in the winter, and outstanding in the summer, when you can go out on the observation deck. Don't forget to walk around the museum after and read all the interesting facts and artifacts all over.

Rachel Ferrara — Google review

This museum was very informative and hands-on! I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits, the elevator mill show, and the staff were friendly do a great job! The elevator show was shared with a school class that was obnoxious but still enjoyed the show. The water table lab was so fun for the kids. The "baking" lab was neat, and we got to make flour. They also had a sample of a baked short bread. How fun to learn more about Minneapolis and the flour milling industry. I highly recommend this museum for families. The tickets are reasonably priced.

Linda M. — Google review

A beautiful museum. My favorite part was the “flour tower” elevator ride that not only showed off the timeline of the museum, but also simulated some of the big movements and disasters. It ends with a great view of the city from the observation deck. The ruins are picturesque, as well.

Little Bunny lover — Google review

This is a wonderful museum that allows you an opportunity to look into the past of the mighty milling industry that once was of Minneapolis. If you are strapped for time, it is easy to get through everything in a couple of hours or you can take your time. The highlight of the tour is definitely the Flour Tower and the top observation deck.

Andy Nizzi — Google review

I moved to Minneapolis from Boston 2 months ago. Having lived in New England the last two years, Minneapolis and the Midwest is a big change for me. Tbh, I didn’t like it at all. But the visit to this museum completely changed my opinion, especially after a conversation with Fred (one among the many amazing docents). The entire museum is a quick cover (2-3 hours), but extremely informative on the birth, history, people of Minnesota (mostly Minneapolis) in a humorous, fun, and empathetic manner. Extremely worth it!Don’t miss: Elevator ride, water bar, the 20 minute movie.Fun fact from Fred: New Lowell was one of the city names considered before Minneapolis was chosen, to acknowledge the help of the textile industry of Lowell, Massachusetts in setting up the water channels in the Mississippi for generating power to run the mills.

Pavan Kumar — Google review

Very fun interactive museum. Some great history to learn, but will definitely be going back at a quieter time to look more fully as the Friday we went there was a couple busloads of school children.

Jana Lein — Google review

This is a children-centered small museum with fantastic views of the river from the observation deck on the 9th floor. There are many displays with good explanations. There is a children's water play table where they can dam up rivers to run turbines. It also had a nice outdoor space to eat.

Alan Dennis, Baron of Cowie — Google review

Super cool space to learn more about something we all have, flour! My kids loved the interactive exhibits. The water lab was a special favorite. Make sure to go up to the very top!! Incredible place!

Jannean Dixon, M.Ed. — Google review

I've always loved this place! I started bringing my daughter when she was 3 years old, now she's 19 and still had fun. I'm allegedly an adult, but I still had fun playing in the water tables. Definitely recommend it. The views from the observation deck are with the price of admission, make it a day trip across the bridge and take time to check out the ruins.

Mindy Ondich — Google review

This was a FASCINATING and extraordinary museum! I kept wanting to know more about how the machines worked, feel what the working conditions were like, etc. This was a “quick” museum (3 hours max) with lots for kids. The views of the mill, stone arch bridge, city… breathtaking! Definitely a must see. Also the eatery inside was outstanding. A few exhibits were too elaborate to be educational, like the giant water table “for kids” of all ages. Some smaller more hands-on all-ages things to see, taste, touch, and smell would have been great. Bins where you could touch and feel the grains run through your fingers, sample what they tasted like, etc. lots of great information to read on the plaques that I hope can be brought to other input experiences, too. I think this museum will improve greatly over time. Please visit and support them today! Note: I visited on a weekday, but between Christmas and New Year’s Day. There was a lot of space, but I can’t guess what a “typical” day would have been like in terms of crowd levels.

Laura D. Schneider — Google review

Great museum. Friendly staff. For a little extra fun, park on the other side of the river and walk across the Stone Arch Bridge (about a half mile each way).

Russell Milles — Google review

This is a great museum. It's really well laid out with a lot of information and some interactive exhibits for kids. Definitely worth the visit, especially for the low ticket price. I learned a lot about the history of Minneapolis and the mills.

Joe M. — Google review

This place was very interesting. I learned so much about the history of Minneapolis in addition to milling. I had children with me from ages 2-9 and they were all engaged by tour and many of the displays. They loved the room with all the water tables were you could dam up water or guide logs down the river or rebuild the buildings on the banks Minneapolis. We happened to be there when they did a demo of the explosion that happened there in the late 1800s and my kids thought that was neat. I loved the view from top of the mill. Definitely glad I came here and would recommend it to anyone especially if live in Minnesota. However one of my kids commented how you didn't get to see any flour being milled.... which it would be cool if they had one of the old machines running or just something small that was milling wheat to flour to give kids an idea how that process looks. There are old machines that are on display and there are some cranks you can turn to move gears on some displays but no actual flour being made.

Gayle Satterfield — Google review

Definitely worth the $12 admission to the museum portion! It’s much more than just a regular museum. Very interactive with a storytelling freight elevator tour with views from the top of the building. Very knowledgeable workers who don’t bore. Everything they said was interesting and all of the regular museum displays hold your interest. Wonderful gift shop as well!

Olivia VanDehey — Google review

Mill City museum really exceeded my expectations. The museum was filled with fascinating information in video and exhibit turn which is pretty expected, however there is a really cool introduction movie and the elevator show was fantastic. Also the view at the top of the museum is exceptional. Highly recommended.

What a fun, educational adventure!Low cost entry fee. Lots of fun history to look at. I loved the flour tower elevator ride and getting to go to the observation deck. What a beautiful view of the city!

KJ Goldstein — Google review

This is a must visit museum if you are visiting from out of town. It walks you through the overall history of Minneapolis, why it was essential to be built next to to St Anthony falls, and how the city grew and faded with the Mississippi River. The museum is so well put together bringing both milling and water harnessing to the core, intermixed with history and the development of the city. You'll absolutely love the Flour Tower exhibit. Won't spoil it for you.If you have kids, highly recommend spending a solid 2 hours or more at this brilliant museum. Also given its strategic location next to the river, it is awesome to combo it with the river-side walk.

Wook Chung — Google review

We were up for a weekend in March & went to the Sat am farmers market. They had something for everyone. Very cool neat place! Would go back & explore when it's warmer.

Amy Mueggenberg — Google review

Great local museum with fun activities for kids and adults. Be sure to save time for the flour tower to hear about the history of the space and see the views of the city!

Nathan Bilancio — Google review

Great experience and very educational. Learned a great deal about the mill and its history. As well as about the greater Minneapolis area. See the movie!! Plays ever 30 min or so.

Mike Ignace — Google review

The reviews don't lie, this was such a fun and unique museum and I'm so glad we made time to visit! Do **not** under any circ*mstances miss the short movie about the city - it was SO good and funny, and my husband and I were literally laughing out loud multiple times during the video and we immediately pulled up and listened to more from Kevin Kling on our drive home. Don't skip the elevator ride/tour, that was informative and our guide was great -an older gentleman who was a local to the area. We went on a Saturday and watched a pie demonstration, went up to see the great view across the river, and learned a lot about the lumber industry and deforestation of the land, in addition to the flour milling history! Well worth the visit!

Kailey Parks — Google review

The tour is self guided and the building itself is something to behold. We are in our mid-50's and were there without children, but I was really surprised to see so many interactive rooms for the families and young people there. There was even a big group of boy scouts- and their enthusiasm was contagious.

Deanna Wierima — Google review

Do the Flour Tour!! A fun, creative way to tell the history of the building and area. Good for all ages. And the view from the observation deck is beautiful. Also take the time to walk around the river as well.

Excellent exhibit and shows! Highly recommended for all ages! We came on New Year’s Eve and learned so much about the culture and history of Minneapolis! The elevator show is the best! We truly enjoyed it!For travelers, the museum has three large lockers, and each could fit two (2) carry-on luggage’s. We checked in our luggages while visiting the museum and also the bridge near by.Best museum In Minneapolis!

The Minneapolis Institute of Art is an expansive and impressive art museum that covers 5,000 years of world history in its vast collection. Spanning a wide range of styles and disciplines, the MIA is home to some of the most iconic pieces in American and international art. With exhibitions constantly rotating and a vast traveling collection, the MIA is a must-see for anyone interested in fine arts.

Amazing Museum. Love the interactive rooms and the variety of art pieces from around the world. They’re amazing about Covid-19 precautions and so be sure to bring your vaccination card or proof of vaccination and be kind to those who are working their asking for them. Food/Cafe is up and running there. Staff that work there were amazing and helpful. And IT IS OPEN UNTIL 9PM. Can we all just appreciate that? 9 PM!! Good job MIA.

Incredible, huge, three-story, free art museum with ongoing exhibits as well as various rotating and traveling special exhibits that have a fee (however, those exhibits usually offer free days as well). I have spent many hours over many days over many years and yet I STILL haven't seen everything even in the ongoing exhibits. You should make a reservation for tickets for special events but usually you can walk-in and still get a ticket, even for those. They have a fun, free Family Day event the second weekend of every month with fun activities and a take-home tote. You can also get a free or paid membership (different levels have different benefits). Definitely donate if you can as well, to help support the museum. There is a gift shop as well as a couple restaurants on site. They offer a free coat check and self-service lockers, which is great for winter when you don't want to lug your coat around. The museum is located on the bus route and there is free on-street and some paid parking lots available. Sometimes they offer free shuttles as well. The museum is accessible with ramps and elevators and offer free wheelchairs for use (which was so helpful when I was there while on crutches). We love the fun, family-friendly Rock the Cradle event they host with the Children's Theatre Company in March and the beautiful Art in Bloom event in the spring.

Samara Bilyeu-Anderson — Google review

An incredible experience, and FREE!? My only regret is only leaving myself an hour to explore. There's two floors of beautiful art. You could spend a whole day immersed, easily.

Rebecca Lynn Stewart — Google review

One of the greatest museums in Minnesota. The admission is free, you pay only if you want to go to the special exhibitions (that change from time to time). Special attention o the historical exhibitions from Asia, Pacific Islands and Africa. Plan ahead to start the for at least 4 hours to see most of the things. The restrooms have changing stations. Some times it is difficult to find parking spots close to the main building

Igor Prata — Google review

It’s been years since I’ve been to the art museum. And having worked and lived abroad in China for more than 10 years, I was curious to revisit the Chinese collection in the Asia exhibition hall. My goodness! I spent half a day and didn’t even get see everything. Need not to mention the other halls in the entire museum. 3 floors worth of pieces from all over the world. You will find something that will excite you. Seriously, I could spend days here. Anyway, admission is free but a donation is highly recommended. There is paid parking next door but if you come early, there’s free street parking. Without a doubt, I shall have to visit again!

Meng X — Google review

Blessing that this museum is free entry (except for special exhibitions) and delivers a high quality experience nonetheless. Some really cool exhibits across European, Asian, African and American art that can take up multiple days to fully explore. Worth a visit while you’re in Minneapolis!

Rovik Robert — Google review

I have always loved the MIA since I was a small child. It's a place for all-ages. It has new galleries pretty frequently. There is a nice sensory-friendly area on the first floor for young children and families. It's a bit more quiet and less brightly lit. There are plenty of seats, bathrooms, and fun things to touch and / or play with; i.e., a chessboard, books, and the wall is textured. My favorite part of the whole trip was visiting the area of photographs entitled: The last safe abortion. The importance of Roe V Wade is highlighted in this piece, which recognizes and honors abortion work in this large photographic body of work from the Midwest. The visual storytelling of this piece shows people answering phones, holding training sessions, scheduling appointments, and handling logistics.Another fun exhibit is The Staff Art Show. I enjoyed the diverse variety of artwork in its different forms in this area. From everything to a mirror, to zines, and objects that the artist's children have discarded, there is something for everyone. The newest exhibit is In Our Hands Native Photography 1890 to now. The exhibit is visually attractive, and worth exploring. It was a bit crowded, because it's newer, but it was enjoyable.

Felix Phoenix — Google review

What a gem in the heart of Minneapolis. This art institute is great for families. There is plenty of room and art for everyone. They even display local children’s artwork. They offer a family center just for kids and a cafe with goodies! Plus, it’s FREE!! Check our calendar for kids events.

Absolutely insanely amazing... Literally filled with wonders. The Mia is huge and has an INCREDIBLE amount of wonderful art. I was there 3 hours and didn't even get through one floor. I think I spent two hours just in the Asia exhibits and I didn't even see everything in there. Time flies by when there's so much to get immersed in. I think it would take me days to truly appreciate all of the art.If you like to sketch, definitely bring your materials! I had a blast :DAnd Mia is completely free!!! (Although everyone should make a donation to this wonderful place). I would put this at the top of the to-do list when in the Twin Cities. Hopefully I'm back in Minneapolis soon so I can designate a few full days to the Mia:)The facilities were very clean and there is plenty of room to social distance even with a good amount of people visiting (I was there on a Wednesday 11am-2pm). Lovely staff as well and they do have a self-service coat check with lockers. As of 4/27/22, masks are optional although many guests still masking when I was there:)Very accessible by bus too!

Stella Chen — Google review

Spent a day at MIA and was very impressed by the beautiful art on display. Works by many masters are on display as well as regional artists. Too much to see for a one day visit. Will definitely be back to finish our exploration. We went on a Saturday and we never felt rushed or crowded. Entry was free, but we did pay to see the Latin America exhibition.

Eric Guelcher — Google review

Even if there were a reasonable entry fee I'd have given this museum five stars. The fact that it was free was icing on the cake.Lots of exhibits from various periods and geographies made for an excellent family friendly cultural experience.

Zac Clark — Google review

I've been to quite a few art museums, and I think this one is the most underrated one. Solid collection all the way around, including really good Native American art and Japanese art collections. It's also free, so anyone can enjoy it. If you're bored in the Twin Cities, this is one of the best places to visit to curb that boredom.

Miles Schiffer — Google review

We visited the "In Our Hands" exhibit and it was so lovely. Thrilled to have been able to take in this stunning collection of Native art. The curation was top notch and gave us a wonderful spectrum of media, stories, and emotions. Grateful to have been able to spend time amongst these pieces!

T G — Google review

I have lived in a Minneapolis suburb for a lot of my life but have never visited. I was driving right past on a weekday after a meeting had ended sooner than expected, there was a parking spot right in front, and so I decided to take a quick tour.Beautiful museum with a number of really interesting pieces. Easily worth a visit and worth more than the little time I afforded it.

Khalid Kader — Google review

This is honestly one of my most fav places to go to when I just need that feeling of reconnecting to the past. I feel more in one with our past history than I do today, so a lot like nature. I feel this has become an escape for me with my daughter. Just be very careful not to TOUCH anything. I was admiring the wood to one of the openings to an entrance and was tempted to lightly graze my fingers across it, and I did get redirected, but I understood. Highly recommend for kids and adults.

Layla minjares — Google review

What I love about this free museum is it never seems busy, just because there is so much to explore and people spread out. There's so much more there than just typical paintings on the wall. You have Period Rooms start up to immerse you into the culture and settings that created those pieces. There is furniture and important functional and artistic designs to lamps and kitchen gadgets even. The arrangement by region is wonderful and let's you step through worlds. Definitely a spot to both come with others or alone.

Bexs Nelson — Google review

MIA is a beautiful museum that is free to the public. It has a parking ramp for easy parking ($7 for the first two hours and an additional $1/hr after the initial two hrs) if you don't want the hassle of finding street parking. The building is shared with Children's Theater, which is a great place to catch a show if you have young ones. MIA has multiple floors to explore (stairs and elevators to choose from) with multiple restrooms (that are clean) on each floor for convenience. They also have a little cafe with tables and a little shop on the first floor. In my opinion, this museum is far superior in content than The Walker.

A P — Google review

Such a great collection! What a welcoming place for tourists, the community and world. Experiencing the building's architecture is worth a visit alone. The admission was free! How fortunate we are to have not only these works to enjoy, but that they're incorporated into the preservation of historic architecture. It's so accessible and easily located.

Nancy Harms — Google review

Amazing art and cultural exhibits. Take a walk through history but make sure you have plenty of time. It has a way of mesmerizing you while the hours just disappear.

Jeremy Robinson — Google review

Amazing place and so much amazing art to see. If anyone plans on going make it an all day trip. My family and I were there 3 hours and didn't get to see everything cause we ran out of time. From what I understand it's free to enter, but have to pay for special events, it's worth it. We went to see the Chinese Ritual Bronzes.

April Adams — Google review

Amazing museum with tons space to wander. Art from all over the world and through the centuries. Got lost a few times and had to back track a bit. They are open till 9 some nights which is unusual for a museum and I wholeheartedly approve. Go wander and have fun!! Best of all it’s free!

Keven Skiles — Google review

This was a neat museum and a nice way to spend a few hours, especially that it was free. The galleries are well put together with enough information about the pieces to learn about them. The hidden office of the museum curator that disappeared was super wild.

Tim Golen — Google review

Amazing experience, a large museum with a amazing array of art! There’s something for everyone, but art lovers will especially enjoy it. Another plus is that it’s completely free, only fee you might have to pay is for parking.

Alex Stolzman — Google review

I enjoyed visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) and free admission makes my experience even better. The exhibits and artwork were interesting to look at and there was so much stuff to see. The prairie school-themed exhibit was especially my favorite out of all exhibits. But all exhibits were great.

Travis Truong — Google review

Really enjoyed visiting this MIA. It was a mix of an art museum and historical museum. Very unique the way they displayed various statues, sculptures, artifacts, & mediums of artwork. I liked the themed rooms from different regions. There is a cute cafe inside of the building as well. FREE admission as well!!! We went on a Saturday when there were no special exhibits being showcased, which is the only time there would be an entrance fee. Family friendly place. There’s even a children’s section in it. I would highly recommend coming here if you’re new to Minneapolis and looking for a staple spot to come visit!

Alena B — Google review

MIA is such an amazing museum. There is SO much to look at. My favorite artist is Georgia O’Keeffe and one thing on my tiny bucket list was to see a real Georgia O’Keeffe painting in person, and I discovered from their website that they had 1 on display. Well, they, in fact, have 3!!! I was so excited. I think they may have 4, but my son took me, and we found 3 on the 3rd floor. There is SO much to see, and it took us like 2 hours to just look around the 3rd floor, so we determined that we would do 1 floor at a time in order to see everything on each floor and take it all in. There is on street parking or there is a little pay parking lot across the street which is what we did. It is free admission to look at the general displays. If there is a special exhibit, then there would be an admission cost.

Kim Claggett — Google review

Amazing I enjoy it a lot. You will love it if you are an art enthusiast. Closest museum I’ve been to compared to the louvre in Paris. Definitely a must if you are staying in Boston.

90milestomiami — Google review

An absolutely amazing art museum and a must see of Minneapolis. I visited on a Sunday morning which had significantly less crowds than I was expecting. Entry was quick and easy, the entrance was for free (which I’m not sure if it’s a recurring thing). It was very easy to navigate around the museum due to the signage and provided maps. I especially like that there is a list of must sees on the back of the map for those who only have a short amount of time to visit like I did. The layout is easy to navigate and separated in distinct periods that makes sense, nothing detracts from the pieces themselves, and it's overall an amazing experience. I can't wait to revisit with plenty of time to thoroughly explore all the exhibits.

Parks

The Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis's most-visited park is a beautiful 53-foot waterfall that tumbles over rocks and logs. The falls was previously known as Brown's Falls and it was immortalized by the 1855 poem The Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

After visiting my first time. I had to bring my other better half son. On a cold -7 night. Parking wasn't an issue at 9pm and free of course this time of year. We made our way to the high falls then we made our way to the 2nd bridge. Not a sole in the park. I'll be back in the summer months. A great frozen in time high falls. Enjoy your window to the World behind the falls everyone!

Mike K. — Google review

A nice park and a nice waterfall. If you go down the steep steps by the side of the falls you can walk over an old stone bridge and walk along side the river... Very pleasant. Car Parking by meter in the Park Lot was $1.50 for 1 Hour.

Martin Roberts — Google review

Love going here especially when the waterfall is flowing strong in the spring. The trails to it and around it are always fun to go on. I hope they repair the stairs going down to it on that one side soon.

alvin wong — Google review

Such a lovely park just a few miles from the center of Minneapolis. There’s good parking for a small fee. You take a short walk and are rewarded with a beautiful waterfall.

Jen Wheelock — Google review

Beautiful park with lots to see, especially the waterfalls. You will find many amenities at the area, like a restaurant and craft beers, as well as public restrooms and water fill stations. If you are going to see the falls, be prepared for a little hike down, but it will be definitely worth it.Getting here with a public transport was a bit of a chore, but nothing too complicated if you have some time to spare.

Sam Rauhalammi — Google review

Nice place to walk, hike or to just relaxHuge lawns with plenty of seatingThe hiking trail is along the creek, so fairly pleasant if you don’t mind the slight smell

Suhas Parimi — Google review

Really beautiful, the whole area of park, falls is just so gorgeous,i can only imagine how amazing this place is in summer and winter when the fall freezes. Definitely a must go see!

Elizabeth Abdelkereem — Google review

I’ve been coming to this falls for over a decade season after season and never gets old. A beautiful Falls / park in the heart of twincities metro with different view in different seasons.Must visit in fall if you want to see vibrant fall colors. It is a beautiful long trail for a beautiful walk or a jog, family and friends get together for hanging out and outdoor grilling.

Sreenivas B R — Google review

Nice easy way to see a waterfall in an urban area. Trails and bikes to rent. Could use more convenient public restrooms. Parking is by meter at 2.25/hr. No trespassing areas may need better barriers if the baracaided areas are indeed dangerous

GRAMS — Google review

Last waterfall we have seen in the state of Minnesota. It was nice. It will probably be a lot bigger in the springtime with the water flow. Be prepared to pay for parking. Not that much. But there's no free parking.

Jeanette Jangula — Google review

Love the family and pet friendly park. Lots of places to sit and take a break. Some steep stairs and the trails are muddy but worth walking and seeing a bit of history. Great place to enjoy a picnic with family. The Falls was very nice. Street parking and other parking are all pay at meter. The place was surprisingly clean. Come visit and enjoy the outdoors and trails.

Sylvia Sainz — Google review

Great park within the city for all year round activities.

Ian N. — Google review

Really nice park area but the falls we’re in disrepair. Nice trails and a little creek that many were dipping their toes in.

Sabrina K — Google review

Beautiful park with nice scenic trails. If you’re just stopping to see the falls, I would say probably about 30 mins should be sufficient, but it’s beautiful so you might want to enjoy the view a bit longer. There’s pay parking right by the top of the falls. Close by, there’s a stair/trail leading to the bottom of the falls. I visited Memorial Weekend 2023, plenty of beautiful views, parking, and mosquitoes 🦟.

Luke Chang — Google review

Parking close by is reasonable. Pretty. Good stairs. Trails at the bottom to walk on too. One side's stairs were closed but it wasn't far to the other side. Do it. It's worth it.

Timothy Olson — Google review

The waterfall was gorgeous, however.....the park is not maintained very well and there was a lot of graffiti on the surrounding structures. I'm not from here and I was surprised to see something so pretty treated like a sewer runoff....sad, people were smoking weed and drinking everywhere, not a place I'd bring my family back to, clean it up Minnesota, take pride in what you have.

Daryl Brinegar — Google review

Always love coming here. It's my favorite place in the city. Never been to the bottom in the Winter until today. It's definitely different than being down there in warmer weather.

Phitsamay Chiankhamphet — Google review

Its so convenient to get to on the blue line, its a beautiful park in the fall and the natural waterfall is blissful to see. Cant believe this park exists in the middle of a major city! Great place to spread some of my grandfathers ashes.

Bronson Allen — Google review

I couldn’t believe this place was even real, it looked like straight out of a movie. We just stopped real quick to take a look at the waterfalls but you can rent a bike, rest or take a walk while being rewarded by a beautiful view. Parking is not bad at all, it was around $2/hour. I loved visiting during fall but I bet it would look just as beautiful during the summer!

Jenn Left — Google review

Maybe because it's fall, but definitely would love to see this place in the spring and summer. Also hopefully with a bit of TLC to some of the areas. All in all what a wonderful visit.

J Kusel — Google review

I went to see the waterfall. For being in the city I was shocked by how clean it was. No vandalism. The nature aspect of the park is actually very nice. The trail was gorgeous and there's not a lot you have to do to get to the waterfall. The waterfall is super pretty and I went really early on a weekday so I had no problem parking and I only saw a few people.

Katie A — Google review

This place is absolutely gorgeous any time of the year! I love coming here with my family, and any time we have an out of state visitor, we are sure to bring them here to see the beauty of Minnehaha.

Beatrice Alvarado — Google review

Had a great walk near the waterfall. Although up close the water looked a tad bit dirty? Two of the stairs were closed and we could see graffiti on the wall so I'm not sure what happened there lol. But generally a very pretty area

Shopping mall

Shopping

The Mall of America is a huge shopping center with many stores including restaurants and an amusem*nt park. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

Absolutely worth it! Don't be fooled that because it's a mall you'll have to spend money everywhere you go. But if you are treating this as a destination you should come with the idea of doing some experiences and enjoying your time even if you're not a shopper! If you have a family there's basically an amusem*nt park in the very Middle where you can buy a pass to do all the rides and it's well worth it because the weather is always great indoors!

PJ Dunn — Google review

This place is pretty incredible. We are not from the area but have come to visit a couple of times and there’s always something to do for everyone. Nickelodeon Universe can be fun for the whole family. If you have multiple days you will be here, that is pretty much a whole day. We went on a Monday and lines were short until about 11:30 and then the crowds picked up. There are plenty of store options and food options here. Definitely recommend as there is something for everyone.

Maura L — Google review

I love the Mall of America. It's a fun place to explore a huge number of stores, have something to eat or take in a movie. There is something for everyone to do even an indoor amusem*nt park. And don't forget the LEGO store.

Joe Haupt — Google review

Nickelodeon Universe is an amazing park for EVERYONE. The park alone is worth visiting the mall. There's also a huge food court. It's just all around pure fun and excitement and something for everyone. It's impressive how many rides they can fit into such a small space, the theming is vibrant and so inviting. There's also the Lego store and the Crayola store, also incredible! Highly recommended Mall of America and especially Nickelodeon Universe!

Abe Ortiz — Google review

The Mall of America 🇺🇸 is the greatest shopping mall I've ever been to! It has everything you could ever want to buy or eat there, and the selections are varied and absolutely wonderful! You can't do everything in one day at the mall, so do plan on spending more time there. It's a fascinating place to visit, and I can guarantee that you'll have a fun time!

Joe Kupris — Google review

Over the years I have seen many an exhibit and store come through the wall of the Mall of America. This truly is a sight.Even if you're not one for shopping, it's great to see all that's in store here. There's plenty of parking and for a mall that is extremely large, it's actually well designed. There are very few times where you will feel as if it's crowded. As a tourist attraction, it's on my must visit list.

Gwendolyn R Houston-Jack — Google review

I used to live in Minnesota as a child and I love coming to this mall on the weekends. It's a 30min drive from my city, Minneapolis. It's one of the biggest mall in the U.S. hence the name. It has endless stores and it also has rides like an amusem*nt park. If you ever in the area, you have to check out this mall.

Ann La — Google review

The mall continues to be full of great stores, some that have closed in other areas. The amusem*nt park in the middle looked like lots of fun, although we didn't use it. The food court has lots of options and there are also several full restaurants throughout the mall. Some coworkers and I were in Minneapolis for a work conference and had an enjoyable evening exploring the mall.

Julie Barbosa — Google review

This mall is huge and have many stores also a place for the kids. A lot of walking I will say, parking is simple and free. The food options are great, they also have vegan options. This place is not crowded which is a plus. This is a place for kids and adults so give it a try.

Tom Williams — Google review

It was a bucket list item to come here. I don't like to shop but there was plenty else to do. I really loved all of the various culinary options available. The mall was pretty clean. Bathrooms readily available though the signs could be better. There weren't any raucous youths running about while we were there. The amusem*nt park looked cool. Attached hotels are also very convenient. If you don't shop/ride rollercoasters you could just come here to eat or people watch like we did.

Melinda Bianchi — Google review

Large mall. Lots of stores and food options. Very nice in appearance. The theme park in the middle is fun. Lots of activities - nerf and laser course, mini golf, amusem*nt park rides, 5D movies, illusion room, axe throwing. It will cost you a lot to do all these things, plan on spending $. Average $20-30 per person/activity. They have unlimited ride wrist bands. Parking garage is big and 7ft clearance.

Jessica Martin — Google review

Your one stop for shopping, dining and having fun. I went early so it wasn't too packed. I walked around for 2 hours on 3 levels just to experience the largest mall in America. I like that they have kiosks all throughout to help you find what your looking for. Wear some comfortable clothing and good walking shoes.

Pamela B — Google review

Over 600 stores, a great food court (entire floor), movie theater on the top floor, and an amusem*nt park in the center of it all. On average, it takes two days to really see and do everything, so pace yourself. Definitely worth the trip!!

David Sanford — Google review

First time visit. Had a blast. Lots of food options, stores, and a small theme park. Can easily spend at least a day here. Good location next to the airport and has hotels attached. Semi truck parking available but only during operation hrs.

Patrick Walthers — Google review

It was an amazing experience! Crowded due to the long weekend but definitely worthy to visit. Interesting shops and good quality food even just in the food court!! They even have accessible lockers for shoppers!

Visited this mall on March 30, 2024.I have heard so much about this mall before coming here but my experience left me little disappointed when it’s come to shopping. There are many stores here but same store are everywhere else as well. There is no uniqueness in shopping experience. If you consider other activities like Nickelodeon Universe (kind of fun activity park for kids and young ones) Sea life, LegoAdventure park etc then it’s totally worth it.This place is ideal for family with small kids. Here under one roof kids can play, eat and have lots of fun.Bathrooms were not in good clean condition. If you are coming from another state or from Canada for shopping only then there is no need at all. Spending in US $ will cost you more.Three stars

Abdul Sami — Google review

Living so close to the mall...we visit here very regularly. Sometimes it's a quick stop...for either a particular item...or...a meal. Other times...we can easily spend the day here...shopping...going on rides...seeing a film...just browsing. It's been interesting to see it adapt...and...change over the years. Obviously...there is an insane amount of variety to be found...everything from clothing...to dining...to top-notch entertainment choices...and...then some. There really is something for everyone. Also...the fact that Minnesota doesn't charge tax on clothing...or...shoes...is a huge draw for people. There is plenty of free parking all around the mall. You can always find a spot...no matter how crowded it is. There is also a newly-remodeled transit hub with both city bus...and...light rail service onsite. Many local hotels also provide shuttles to...and...from both the mall...and...the airport. Several hotels are within walking distance to the mall...with two being directly attached. The mall is a place that we will always come to because...it's in our backyard...and...we love it.

Amazing mall, second time here and I love it. Super clean, great parking, amazing stores, tons of things to do , you will need a week to enjoy everything here. Bring good walking shoes and come early! Being the largest mall of America the parking lot gets packed! I was fortunate to arrive early on a Friday morning (around 1015) and parking was great, but when departing the parking lot was completely full! there are 3 plus levels in this mall and an amusem*nt park inside! I recommend making room for two days at this mall to experience all it has to offer! This includes all the commons stores you will find at other malls, local shops, and activity stores.

David Ortega — Google review

This place is amazing. There’s so much to do here you can check out all the stores they have and see if you can find any good deals or there’s always the amusem*nt park. There’s tons of fun activities to do here. I really like The Amazing Mirror Maze and the 5D Extreme Attraction. I highly recommend checking out as many of the events and attractions as possible and they have so many different kinds of food to choose from while you spend your day at the mall. This place is a dream on earth. Definitely can’t recommend checking it out enough.

This is not a quick stop visit.Plan on spending at least a day, if not 2, in order to see the whole mall. There are sports stores, antique stores, department stores, unique stores, and a fabulous food court. My husband and I.Walked over seventeen thousand steps in about four hours. They have family activities at the Nickelodeon, Sea World, and Lego land, just to name a few. The food court offers a worldwide varietyOf tastes. The mall is a magical place around the holidays with all its decor and musical concerts. We always look forward to spending the day here

In the world of retail, food and entertainment, MOA has got it all. It's only 10 minutes from the MSP airport and surrounded by plenty of hotels that offer free shuttles. A Lyft or Uber is also very convenient, even during the colder winter months. This place has tons of stores to choose from to get anythingyou could need, and even multiple locations of some. The movie theater is nice, and the Nickelodeon theme park in the middle is amazing. It offers a ton of neat rides for all ages. The mall is set up like a 4 leaf clover with 4 levels, but most stores are located on the first 3 floors, with the 3rd floor being packed with different food options. It took us 2 full days to actively walk around and enjoy the whole place. We traveled from Tampa and made a weekend out of it. The only downside is having to carry your jacket and purchases the whole time. They do have lockers you can rent, but they can be pricey. Every time we looked the longest line to get into a store was for Legos! Overall, it's an awesome, safe place with tons of security everywhere you look. Definitely recommend a trip to check it out.

I have been coming to the Mall of America since it opened. It’s definitely worth seeing. It does get busy during the holidays but is a fun experience. The amusem*nt park is even fun to walk through if you have time. It’s safe and clean and the employees are friendly. I haven’t had any bad experiences—and I’ve been here many many times

Lisa Carmichael — Google review

I always saw this on the Travel channel when I was a kid, dreaming of being able to come here. Visiting for the first time as an adult, crazy to see how large this mall is as well as the variety of food, shops and entertainment there. At the end of the day it is just a mall so as an adult it was ok but the kid in me would have been super excited to see it live. Very good place to take a family, lots of entertainment things to do and see.

Josh Baltazar — Google review

Amazing place. Has a very diverse collection of shops and boutiques. The Lego land in side is astonishing. Great place to bring your kids. They have a full on amusem*nt park I side the mall at it's center. Has the best food court I've ever been in. And that includes places I've been to In Vegas. The price rages from a couple bucks. To a couple thousand bucks. They also put on live bands performances. If your coming to M.O.A. for the first time. Plan ahead and get there early if you want to see the whole mall. It could possibly take a week. If your a browser and take you time In each store.

Matt Palmer — Google review

Clean, easy parking on east ramp, really fun to walk around, lots of places we don’t see in our home town. The legos were impressive. The theme park was especially fun. I like the option to pay per ride using points. We even saw a jazz band play in the atrium.

E. H. — Google review

I’ve always wanted to visit the mall and finally did. I wasn’t disappointed but maybe more so expected more. The coolest part was the theme park area with the rest of the mall just a supersized version of a mall in any bigger city, sure there are special stores and TONS of normal stores but nothing really stood out to me. That being said I think it is a must visit to cross off one’s bucket list if nearby. I drove around 9 hours, because it’s always been on my bucket list, and can say it probably wasn’t worth the drive but there are other things to do in the area and that makes it worthwhile overall.

Brandon Jackson — Google review

This place is the full standard for malls. I think they set the bar really high. I'm my opinion, having seen so many shopping malls falling into bankruptcy, they need to look at their playbook. This place was packed, and not just the amusem*nt park. Yes. An amusem*nt park in the mall. I said it. I love how every few hundred feet they have an electronic map with directions. Brilliant! I have been to so many malls in my years. This lives up to the hype. Did I mention an aquarium? The list is way too long, folks. If you're in Minneapolis MN and you have a few hours to kill. Here you go. You won't see it all, though.

Smc — Google review

As a European, I have never seen anything this big in my life ;).But it is so much fun.You can spend there literally the whole day.Fun for kids, aquarium, Illusion museum, shops for adults, food corner with almost everything you can ask for.It was definitely an experience:)

Hannah — Google review

3 1/2 floors of amazing stores! A diverse mixture of goods and services. Clean clean clean! Draws a large cross section of cultures and ages! Family friendly. FREE parking.

Dennis Bloom (Bloomy) — Google review

This mall is huge and super fun to see. I spent a few hours here by myself since I was in town for work. I took the metro from downtown straight there. So easy. They had a lot of sorts and I can't speak to the theme park since I didn't go but I'm sure it's great.

Cari Morales — Google review

I missed visiting a mall like this one. I came from Birmingham and there is nothing compared with this mall. The variety of restaurants, stores, attractions, and that Nickelodeon park are amazing! (Except for the Crayola adventure) It is that kind of place where if you don't have any plans but want to hang out, you will feel you made something in your day, from walking, eating something yummy, enjoy the park or another attraction, going shopping, drinking with your friends... This mall has something for everyone

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

A 485-acre preserve exhibiting local & global animals from Russian grizzly bears to butterflies.

The Minnesota Zoo is a wonderful place to visit, whether or not you're into animals. A vast collection of animals from all over the world keeps every trip interesting. The Tropics Trail and Grizzly Coast both immerse you in a different world than what we are used to, in opposite climates. There's plenty to learn and lots to do. Also a great place for little ones! Just make sure they know how to respect the animals.👍

Wesley Friberg — Google review

Very nice zoo. The animals appear well cared for. Lots of places for children to play. Decent options for lunch or a snack. Some nice touches, like the Llama trail, where you can walk around with the animals. My favorite was probably the Tropics trail with a number of beautiful birds. Can't wait to go back later in July when the tiger cubs are old enough for their debut!

Kimberlyn Bauhs — Google review

We have a membership and love taking our toddler. Every time we visit it's a new experience. Our favorite things are the bird show, the llama trek where you get to walk with the llamas and pet them, the farm where you can feed the animals, and the play area with splash pad. Our toddler also loves the bee hive play area. Get the membership and go early in the membership only time frame if you want less people. The membership will also make you feel better about a shorter trip if the kids get restless and you need to head home before seeing everything.

Jasmine Maki — Google review

It was kinda expensive; $51.90 for two people & parking. I would have hoped there would have been more to see for those prices. Also, the constant ask to "round up and donate more" when you already paid quite a bit for entry is annoying. The signage in the park isn't that great either, and they did away with paper maps (understandable), but better signage would be nice! We did enjoy the nature walk but would have liked to see more animals!

Lindsay Walton — Google review

This zoo is super unique and I appreciate how they preserved much of the existing forest and landscape. It was a fantastic walking path. Tickets are $21.95 for adults, but my 1 year old niece was free. They have a food court as well. I don’t know if they have maps, but we definitely needed one because it is easy to get turned around. This zoo is a lot of walking and there are somewhat hilly walkways, but they have elevators to go from the walkway down to the zoo.

Terra Scranton — Google review

Absolutely gorgeous! It seems to be under construction and updates right now, but still lots of animals! Not many food kiosks/stalls open at the moment. Enough that it wasn't too bad though. We even got to see a newly born bison!!

Mx. Rylee — Google review

Minnesota Zoo is a wonderful experience for adults and youngsters. We enjoyed the scenic walk by the lakes and all the wildlife along with the exotic animals from around the world. It was fun to see the baby animals especially the prairie dogs, goats, chicks and little bison.A carousel ride costs only $2 per person. You do need to purchase it on a machine next to the ride. You will get a coin to use for the ride. The carousel is gorgeous and ornate with beautiful artwork of nature and animals. What a lovely memory! The aquariums were amazing! The shark tank was really cool. The smaller tanks were neat as well. There was a large variety of sea creatures including sea otters, a seal, sharks, a spot fin porcupine fish, a sting ray, sea horses, clown fish, leafy sea dragon, sea turtle, eels and many more. There are two areas you are able to touch the creatures if you like. In one pool there are small sharks. In the other area there are anemones and star fish. All the exhibits give you the opportunity to read about the creatures and the habitats they come from. The restrooms are family friendly with baby changing stations and step stools for the little ones. Thank you for being prepared for families!

Tina Xinastle — Google review

We love the MN Zoo! We went to see the dinosaur exhibit they have right now. Besides the heat, my kids enjoyed it. They even walked/ran through to see the dinosaurs a couple times. I have hyper kids, so another great part about the Zoo is the play areas, interactive spots, & splash pad for kids(& adults)! Another thing to remember if you visit, online ticket purchase a head of time is required, & check their daily schedule for the animal feedings, bird or dolphin show, & kids activities. One more thing, if you have a large family(like us), the membership is worth the price!

Alicia Peterson — Google review

Had a great time on Tuesday with my 4yo daughter. We walked part of the brand new Treetop Trail. I loved seeing parts of the zoo I hadn't seen in 10 years when the monorail was retired. More importantly I enjoyed the message behind the trail as it focuses on overall wellness, reflection, and mindfulness. We got some great shots of the tigers, puma, and birds from the 3pm Bird Show. I had not seen the show in years and this was my daughter's first time. She enjoyed it and was bummed when she wasnt picked to volunteer.

Nichole Aguilera Torres — Google review

Great place to walk around and the newly completed Tree Top Trail was very convenient. It had multiple spots where you could get off if you wanted to see a group of animals from the main trails instead of from above. It also had benches set up throughout.

Molly M — Google review

With the uncommonly warm weather in December, we were able to go for a walk and enjoy the zoo on a sunny afternoon. We walked along the tree top trail and then went down on the ground level trail to see animals more closely. Then there was the nice warmth and moisture of the tropical display inside of a building entirely dedicated to the theme of animals and plants from this band of nice climate around the “ central belt” of the Earth. Did you know more than half the species of animals on the globe live in this geographical zone?

Elisa Lobo Neese — Google review

Awesome outdoor and indoor trails, well done educational information suitable for all ages, amazing animals and birds from around the world and from land, air, and sea. We were so lucky to see the new baby Bactrian camel! It was a lovely early spring day with many people but not crowded on a Friday. Always a fantastic experience full of interesting things to see, do, and learn.

Anne Carroll — Google review

Such an awesome zoo. It's obvious that the animals are well taken care of. It would be nicer if there were more maps along the way (we got pretty lost) or even an app with the map. But still a fun time. The tropical exhibit is AMAZING! The primate house is a little underwhelming. It's really awesome that they have an exhibit dedicated to Minnesota plants and animals. Definitely a great place to learn!

Laura Bruns — Google review

This zoo is beyond amazing! The layout is setup in a very thoughtful way, that makes the flow move smoothly, and transitions for kiddos easy. The highlights for our family were the camel rides, the llama trek, the dolphins, and the Dino Hideout exhibit! We had no idea about the Dino exhibit, but WOW that made our trip to the zoo even more memorable. My two boys were absolutely obsessed, and it was set up in an area that was very kid friendly. The kids were able to run around and check out the Dinos, and do some playing in the play area setup. Great little break from all the walking and looking! The zoo does have bathrooms and kiosks all over to make sure you and your people have lots of options for hydrating and bathroom breaks. With a 6 and 4 year old, these were both very important on a 90 degree day!The zoo was quite clean, staff very friendly, and the attractions were fantastic. Lots of opportunity to learn, have fun, and experience the amazing creatures living there.

Noelle Pinar — Google review

There has never been a bad time at the zoo for us. With so many different places the kids are always entertained. The Bird Show is a must see for all ages(spoiler alert have a dollar bill ready)Always clean, good patching, and plenty of place for breaks. Always one of my favorite places to go.

Charles Lindemann — Google review

Fantastic zoo! The employees are friendly, happy and very knowledgeable. The animals are beautiful, animated and obviously well cared for. Came for the day and ended up buying a year pass. Can't wait to come back in the evening . Even more excited for the high walk to be completed at the end of the month. If you have never been here, what's wrong with you? Go!!!!

Heather — Google review

I love the Minnesota Zoo. I enjoy the new trail tree top walkway. It is a beautiful way to see the animals.I also like to get down close to the animals and the zoo has built many enclosures that allow you to be safely feet away from the animals and still not disturb them. The food choices are nice and the new order kiosk allows you to order, grab a pager and then wait comfortably at your seat.Parking was abundant and the dolphin interaction was fun, but short.I would love to see the monkeys have a little more space to roam as their enclosure was small. The wolf enclosure was also somewhat limited for the animal and it didn't have anything to keep them busy or entertained.Overall it was a wonderful day at the Minnesota zoo. I highly recommend you visiting and supporting this zoo.

Joe Shah — Google review

We went on a clear blue sky unseasonably warm Thursday in February and thoroughly enjoyed the Treetop Trail in the sun. The animals also appeared to be enjoying the sun as they snoozed in their sun splashed habitats. The sea dragons and sea horses were some of my favorite critters, but being able to watch beavers from an underwater perspective was priceless. I had no idea how cute they are when they swim around like big burritos with rudders. If I could have a pet beaver, I'm all in. He can even sit on my couch. Oh! I almost forgot to mention there was one fish in the tropical pool underwater viewing area who also stole my heart. She wasn't described in the interpretative materials, but she looked a bit like a minivan with fins, and she was very curious about my phone. She posed for one of the pictures I've shared here.

Camille Speck — Google review

I've already been to the zoo twice since moving here a month ago. It's beautifully laid out with fantastic walking paths and enclosures for the animals that are obviously very thoughtfully designed. Converting the old monorail track into a walking trail, The Treetop Trail, was a stroke of genius. I could sit and watch the snow monkeys for hours. The food is a bit overpriced and not particularly great but it's a zoo so I'm not expecting fantastic dining. Lockers are available at a very low charge which is fantastic. Highly recommend a trip if you live close by and haven't been. It does get quite busy so I would recommend going early on a weekday if you can manage it.

Jayce Mulligan — Google review

We went to their Jack O Lantern spectacular. It was amazing. The pumpkin carvings were fantastic and the exhibits were set up beautifully. It was a cold, blustery day but the event was packed. Our tickets were at 7pm. We waited a few minutes in line and then got to enjoy the event.

Sharon King — Google review

A very fun walk on a paved path, handicap accessible, through a wooded area full of thousands of beautiful, carved, and lighted pumpkins. It is a bit hilly and pretty dim in some areas but very doable for everyone. (My step count was almost 6000 by the time we were done). It was crowded, but you go at your own pace so easy enough to get out of the crowd. I can only imagine the amount of time and work that goes into doing this. Some of the pumpkins are up in the trees while others are on stands or elaborate displays. Take your time and enjoy all of them, it's worth the walk. I took lots more pictures, could only upload 50.

Patti Baldwin — Google review

Very little updates(fresh paint, building accents, ect.), especially to the tropics trail building. We came March 1st, I would say about 65-70% of the exhibits had animals in them, but yet we paid full admission, and the prices are getting ridiculous. I understand the money goes to a good cause but it's just too much now

Nate Hovey — Google review

We went on an extra day off for the kids and it was not crowded at all. Animals appear well cared for, lots of conservation work information was provided, and the employees we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. If you have kids and you plan to go morethan twice a year, the membership pays for itself.

The new Stillwater pedestrian area is a wonderful place to wander around. Today. People had set up tarps in order to prepare for the fireworks show. The lift bridge is still functional and was raised up for small boats that went under it. Kids love watching it and watching the counterweights moving up and down. The bathrooms in the area are wonderful and clean and there's a lot of places to sit and enjoy the views of the river.

World snow sculpting championships held in Stillwater. A very good area to have this event. The loop trail is open year round. I recommend it.

This place never disappoints me; any season you go, there is always fun. Here is a couple of pictures from my recent visit.

We have tremendously enjoyed our visits to the Stillwater historic area, especially along the bridge and waterfront areas. The Snow Sculpture competition was fun and interesting!

Russell Boeman — Google review

The lift bridge is part of a hiking /biking trail that crosses the St Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin, offering exercise and great views of the river valley.

David Tidaback — Google review

Very cool bridge went there with my friend Adriana. Was super awesome seeing it lifting. Very nice in the summer. Great view of the Saint Croix river, stillwater and Wisconsin. Nice walk across the bridge. Worth the trip to hang out on the bridge on a nice day when the sun is setting. ⚽💕🙏😊🍏🎱

Joseph Strohmeyer — Google review

Its always a great getaway for Twin cities residents, head East and find Stillwater, go to the bridge and have some ice cream later. I went yesterday and got some videos with my drone

Miguel Ramos — Google review

It would have been great if they had left it open to motorcycle traffic. Personally, I know a lot of people that ride that no longer go to Stillwater because they can't cross that bridge. Also, lately, the amount of construction going on really keeps a lot of the riders I know from going here. That is a lot of lost revenue for Downtown Stillwater.

Mark Gjertson — Google review

The Stillwater Lift Bridge is the staple of this town! With such history and just how it over sees the St. Croix River. And how this bridge is for pedestrians and for biking makes it even better. Would highly recommend to go and see the Stillwater Lift Bridge that is right in Lowell Park.

Tiffany Hinderscheit — Google review

Great place to get the kids out and feel the Fresh air! It is an amazing place. Plenty of spots to sit and eat the Best Ice Cream in town! Yum! Parking is a bit hustle but worth it!With gas price through the roof, this place gives you the best nature has to offer! Get out and enjoy the View and Fresh air!

Eyob Woldemariam — Google review

Lots of interesting shops. The bridge is operational. You can walk across to the wisconson side. E-bike rentals are also available.

Kurt edwards — Google review

Beautiful old bridge that has been turned into a pedestrian only bridge. It allows you to cross over into Wisconsin and provides fabulous views of the coast.

Melanie Hunt — Google review

This location is for the historic bridge, not for the town of Stillwater. The bridge was recently restored as a pedestrian and bicycle crossing. The bridge adds to the scenic beauty of the area. It is quite fun to cross to enjoy the views and watch the bridge raise in the summer months. The bridge is part a trail loop with the new suspension bridge to the south. I enjoyed stopping by to visit the Liftmaster.

Park

Nature & Parks

Teddy Bear Park is a city park that's open from April to October. The park features a playground, gazebo, picnic tables and rental spaces for events. It's not very large and is most appropriate for children aged 1.5 to 5 years old, although older kids may still enjoy it. There's free parking nearby and bathrooms available. Visitors should be cautious of broken sidewalks near the area which can pose safety issues for strollers and young children.

This is a great park. We came from out of town and really enjoyed walking around the town and the bridge after playing at the park.

Stephen Stacey — Google review

Great place for kids to play and just be kids. First time for my grandchildren and they had a blast will take them back next year.. Highly recommend to all

Judy messin — Google review

The park was beautiful, my kids absolutely loved it even if it was cold. The cons? Parking and the steep hills that lead to the park. I loved that it was turf, so no matter the time of year you'd have grass for those beautiful pictures. And there is so many different things to explore!

Michaela Storm — Google review

We love this park. Very different then other playgrounds. Lots of great photo opportunities of your little ones!! Very safe since there is only one way in and out.

melissa lust — Google review

My son loved this park (age 2). A lot of activities are geared towards younger kids, but there are areas for older children as well

Daniel Graves — Google review

It was a clean park, with a nice rock climbing wall and then two nice playgrounds. Lots of cover to stay away from the sun and places to sit. I would note that there isn't a bathroom, and the water fountain there does work but I don't know if I'd recommend drinking from it. Overall I would definitely recommend taking the kids there sometime! Oh also, no dogs allowed!

out_ ofthsworld — Google review

Welcome to toddler heaven! This is the place to be. Mostly padded grounds, plenty of slides, tunnels, bridges, ladders and sand. My grandson knows this this playground by name! Bonus: plenty of places to sit and watch the little ones too! Bonus+ walk a couple blocks to Leo's for an ice cream treat!

Thomas Larson — Google review

This was a cute park. Lots of adorable photo opportunities. It also has free parking near and bathrooms, which is a bonus. It's not very big, so we didn't stay too long. It's a nice stop after having a meal with kids. Most likely most appropriate for 1.5-5 year olds (seemed a bit young for my 6-year old niece but she still enjoyed it). My one issue is that the side walk is broken near it and very steep, and my stroller almost tipped over with my daughter. With so many kids around there, they need to be careful...

Lindsey McDermott — Google review

Beautiful park! We loved our visit here.

Brooke Krebs — Google review

Teddy Bear Park is a cute little park. Great for little kids (or just to take photos with the teddy bear sculptures and being a kid at heart!) Would recommend to take a stop by this little park!

Tiffany Hinderscheit — Google review

TBP is small but very clean with lots of fun playthings for kids 8 and under. Older kids can try the climbing walls. With lots of large benches and ample free parking across the street, this could be a favorite "let 'em blow off some steam" destination for this grandpa!

Darrin Bergman — Google review

All non-natural surface Park with area themed play equipment. Small climbing areas on natural looking cliff face, a few picnic tables, covered benches for shade, lift bridge themed catwalk, flush toilets and event space available. No dogs allowed, no skateboards allowed. It is completely enclosed apart from the entrance gate. Free parking available, limited space. Street parking is available, but also limited due to the nature of the area.

Derek Quiram — Google review

Cool little place for the kiddos between the ages 2 and 4! They have Slides, and big teddy bear statue's for pictures. Also an area with sand the kiddos can climb on walls and other playground things. Not the biggest park but great spot to hit if your in looking for a day trip you got the river right down the road and downtown Stillwater!

Shane Rooney — Google review

This is a fun park for the younger aged kiddos. The statues are adorable, the playground equipment well maintained, and the area is surrounded by a tall gate with only one way in or out (nice when keeping an eye on multiple lively kiddos). The park sits on the top of the hill, so the views are fun from the park itself.A large parking lot is right near the park, so you don't have to worry about street parking on a regular day.

Ashley Turner — Google review

We took my daughter here every day during our stay in Stillwater and will absolutely come back next time we are around! The park has a lot of different things to choose from to play for all ages. I love that the park isn’t full of sand or mulch. There are spaces for kids to climb the rocks, lots of seating options for parents, decent bathrooms and fully enclosed. The park seemed to always be full but the kids were all respectful each time we visited. My daughter is only 3 and made friends with many kids well over her age. Everyone around was very friendly and the park was pleasant.

Leanne Downey — Google review

Quirky Minnesota find on Facebook and totally worth visiting. My toddler met a little friend and the two of them played until they both melted from the heat. There is a little shade area with benches, otherwise it is all in the heat of the sun. There isn't grass, it is artifical ground covering. The equipment, especially the slides, were hot. We went on an extremely warm day. My son enjoyed the sand box and the tree that you can climb up on the inside the most. It wasn't busy and it is very clean. The bathroom was clean as well. There is a parking lot just across the street. It was fun for the whole family.

This winter ski & snowboard resort on 300 acres includes 48 trails, 5 terrain parks & 18 chairlifts.

Charming little spot overlooking the Afton Ski lifts. Not a huge menu but good spot to grab a drink and enjoy the view. We were watching a doe run around the open fields with her 2 fawns.

Brian Rector — Google review

This year has been pretty up and down for Afton, I'd have to say. Lots of hours cut, hardly any lifts are open and about half runs open, nearly February. Sucks because everywhere else opens before noon, and runs later than 8.Still has fun runs and park, despite the cons.

jakeislate — Google review

I’ve been to almost every ski resort in Minnesota. I can see that Afton definitely needs to be improved. The most two annoying things I really wish they could improve:1. The parking lots are super super muddy, my boots got dirty and I couldn’t put them into my ski bag because they would mess it up. AND it is very potholed! Bumpy like a hell, always painful to drive through the parking lots there.2. They have lots of two-person lift chairs and there are not enough space for two adults.Anyway, I had high expectations for them since they were selling the most expensive tickets in MN. But I have to say, disappointed with the equipment there.

Jill Lee — Google review

Hills are nice. The employees are working their a33 off. But they don’t have enough help. 3/4 of the chairlifts are closed. The lift lines are too long. The rental lines are also too long. Not a great value for the $!

HOME Dworak — Google review

For Midwest skiing it is pretty good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Everyone from the rental shop to the restaurant staff were great. Great way to spend a day.

Scott Gates — Google review

I'm sure Vail was thrilled with my $70 lift ticket as I sat in the rental line for an hour. Only to find one rental staff. Ouch. Pre playing, entered rental information a head of time. Poor planning in the name of corporate profits. I've been working in the industry for 10 years. Won't come back. Would have been zero stars. Hill looks like sunburst or little Switzerland near Milwaukee. Icy 300' vert. Go to chestnut.

Joe Lamb — Google review

My husband and I decided to get season passes here as opposed to any other hill and the Twin Cities area because of the epic discount and because it is one of the largest. We’ve been going since December and find that usually a new hill opens up as they are creating more snow and grooming it. There are a couple different chalets that you can visit, and though the lines can be long, the staff is friendly and fairly efficient.

Andrea Kyle — Google review

I just want to say everyone was great. We had a great experience, all the staff is wonderful! The instructors were outstanding, specially the instructor that helped my brother-in-law, Juan. I didn’t catch her name, but she was so kind and patient with him. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Thank you!

Food here is ridiculously expensive, chicken tenders and fries are $14. The ski hill is not bad, but they don’t have very many black diamonds and it’s a bit confusing. It’s kind maze

Ethan Roesner — Google review

The snowboarding is great when all of the Highlands runs are open! The main qualm that I have leading to the 3-star review is the quality of the cafeteria food/service of the cafeteria employees. My order was given to another person who hadn't been waiting as long as I had been. When the employees noticed that they gave my order away, they rushed to make mine. Unfortunately, due to them rushing, I was served only half-cooked chicken tenders that were still cold in the middle. In addition, the people manning the grills are also responsible for the cash register. This lead to myself and a few others standing and waiting at the cash register with no worker to be found. All of these things in conjunction with one another felt quite a bit frustrating. It could be beneficial to have an order number system so people are helped in the order that they arrived rather than things being disorganized.Overall, I'm happy with the quality of the snowboarding experience. However, the food preparation services leave a lot to be desired.

It's fine as far as Midwest ski hills go. The staff were all friendly as well, which was nice. My main beef with this place is they are charging more than any other local hill, but still have huge lines backed up at their double chair lifts. Nearly half of the lifts weren't running when I went today. Lots of other places nearby with the same quality of skiing, better lifts and lower prices.

Ross Mau — Google review

I'd probably give Afton a 3.75. Skied with my daughters the other day. Dare I say our home hill Snowcreek has better vertical? It's close. Anyways, there are a good amount of runs here but they are all pretty easy. The blacks didn't offer much challenge but offered some good cruising. There was a nice route that goes through a pipe with a nice jump at the end. We did that over and over. The terrain park was a bit too ambitious for us, they could use some smaller stuff varied in. Pretty much everything was expensive. I did appreciate being able to park at less crowded chalets and ski right down with the epic pass. The runs were groomed and in good shape after raining a couple days earlier. The merch store is strong. Good stuff in there. Solid resort just expensive without too much variety in terrain. Welch Village is a better value and better skiing, especially when the back bowl is open.

Nature & Parks

Campground

Expansive park featuring a swimming beach, campsites & a variety of wildflowers.

Gorgeous, well-maintained and well-marked trails, and open to both snowshoeing/hiking and cross country skiing for the winter. Trail signage is clear and easy to follow, and the park offers gorgeous views of the river from several locations.

Casi B — Google review

Nicely maintained State Park with riverwalk, forest and meadow trails for both hikers and bikers. The park has a couple of nice lookouts over the river and nice camping and picnic areas. There is also a public beach area that we didn't explore because dogs weren't allowed. We did explore the river and some cool driftwood in another beach area. Somewhat crowded on a Sunday afternoon in July. Not a lot of bugs.

Virginia VanKeulen — Google review

Phenomenal park! Hikes range from challenging to easy. The beach is not the cleanest water, but I still recommended making the trip!

Esmé White — Google review

Afton state park is a great state park for hiking, birding, and as well as camping. They have more than adequate parking in a couple different areas of the park. They have some really great camp sites throughout the park, including yurts that you can rent and camp in. There is some great views on top of the bluff overlooking the St. Croix River that is not too far from the main parking lot. If you hike down from there, you will eventually hike to the beach area, which is absolutely beautiful and fun to explore. They have picnic shelters and grilling areas right near the parking lot.

B A — Google review

The hiking trails here cater to all skill levels, offering everything from leisurely strolls to challenging hikes. The park's well-maintained trails make exploring the wilderness a joy. One of my favorite spots is the overlook, where I pause to catch my breath and soak in the breathtaking views of the St. Croix River below. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or just looking for a peaceful retreat, I guess this park has it all.

Zain Ul Abdin Siyal — Google review

Overall I had a decent visit hiking here. I only had time to hike the trails in the southern part of the park. The trail portions outside the woods were wide enough for side by side conversation and the parts of the trail near or inside the woods were single file. I visited in November, between the Fall color and white snow, when the aesthetics were rather bland.

Josh — Google review

Afton State Park is a great place for a family's day trip. We only had a couple hours, but got to hike a few miles and also saw the St Croix River from the overlook which was a very pleasant thing to do.From the visitor center, the hiking trails toward south mostly don't have tall trees that provide shade. So it could be more challenging when it is hot. The trails toward north, however, have a lot of trees and are mostly covered by the shade of the trees, and therefore are easier for little kids.

Chang-Tsan Lu — Google review

Nice park, plenty of trails for easy walking and challenge up and down hilly climb. On the negy, not too many bathroom available on the long trail. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables for a rest and a clean beach for swimming. It's also a good place for nature photography.

Practical Life — Google review

A very enjoyable hike with multiple loops to choose from or combine. There is a solar operated water pump in the hike-in campground. It is a nice, winding uphill hike. The beach is currently flooded with some debris washed up to shore.Several picnic shelters and bathrooms are present throughout.Pets are allowed but have to be leashed at all times.Definitely will hike it again.

Evie M — Google review

We had a fantastic time staying in the Bluebird cabin. We had a wonderful hike and had the joy of a Bald Eagle flying right over head - a beautiful sight!

Stephanie Brown — Google review

Love that the south trail is all along the river. The signage isn't great but if you have a GPS map, you will be fine. Weekends are pretty busy. The trails are not challenging wirh the exception of a few steep hills and well maintained.

Christine Cartwright — Google review

At sunrise we took the southern river loop by first walking through the prairie to the yurts/cabins before descending and taking the river path back. The river is still high and all the little sandbars and beaches remain underwater. While skirting the prairie we saw many deer including our first fawn of the year. There was an osprey preening on an unused nesting platform and many kingbirds in the trees at the prairie edge. My greyhounds and I had the paths to ourselves until the climb back up to the car park. My favorite walk in the park still is the northern river loop where the bird watching is superlative through the backpacker's campground.

Carrie Wilmot — Google review

Kind of hard to gauge a park because people look for so many different things. It's huge and it's a walking park mostly, I believe. Went on Memorial Monday and it was only about 60% full. I assume the appeal of more drive up and park options, which plenty of that stuff here, too. Love the different water levels of the river at different times of year.

Will Bryan — Google review

Afton State Park was beautiful and clean during a July afternoon in 2023. We got together with a few likeminded people and we hiked while picking up trash. It was a fun day out on the trails!

Stephen Eigenmann — Google review

I absolutely love this place. So many trails and varieties of trails you can explore. You can get right up on the river. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Steve Meglen — Google review

This is a nice and well kept state park. There isn't too much to do but there's enough to spend a day here. The North River Trail is nice. The beach on the river is also super peaceful. Lots of different landscapes. Not a lot of wildlife spotted when I went. The goats are back and they're employees! I thought that was super cute.

Katie A — Google review

Hiked out to the Trout Brook Loop - they aren’t kidding when they say you’ll get a workout! Trails out there were steep and rocky for half the hike. Appreciated the plentiful signage and labeling of intersecting trails. Views were spectacular, will have to come back to walk the trail along the St. Croix

Emily T — Google review

So many trails to chose from! Lots of variety in terrain and landscape from river to prairie to woods. Very well marked trails and almost every intersection has a map.

M Lewis — Google review

Always a great place to hike, in all seasons. No snowshoeing on this visit, but we brought our new puppy and she loved it. We saw a Pileated Woodpecker, deer, and eagles.

Trevor Dulka — Google review

It's a smaller park with a great view this time of year. I recently purchased the trails stamp book, so this park was close. We chose to go see this park for the first time.

Larry Robinson — Google review

During any season, Afton State Park is the perfect place for a hike. I enjoy both the prairie trails and the steep hill trails leading through the forest and down to the river. Generally, the rolling prairie walks have fewer people. In the winter, the snow makes the browns and reds of the dried prairie grasses seem more vibrant.

Paul M — Google review

The park is pretty nice I thought. My family and I had a great time exploring the park. The main building was clean and pretty well set up. We brought a lunch with us and enjoyed it at the picnic area. While eating a park ranger came up to us and talked to the kids about the state park and some of the areas that they had to offer. They enjoyed talking to him and after he gave them each a Jr. Park ranger badge(sticker). We all had a fun time at the park!

Miles of trails! This is a great place to come to enjoy nature. I used Gaia Maps to help me navigate around the trails because it is a bit of a maze. There are trail signs which is very helpful but Gaia was still helpful. My last hike in mid-August was in the evening/dusk (after sunset) on the trails by the river (upper arboretum). I saw so many deer and saw a beaver on the river. After nightfall, the fireflies came out! That was really fun to see. Not too many birds as it was not the right time of day but I did see a flock of geese on the river. In winter, I come here for the cross-country skiing.

Eli Holmes — Google review

Beautiful place, nice walking paths, seating, and even a BBQ grill. We saw several deer as well. My new favorite place. Will definitely go back!

Angela Carroll2015 — Google review

Not what I would normally call an aboretum, but it's a very nice park!Parking was very annoying to find as google routes you to a weird back building where you cannot park and you have to kinda find a way to the parking lot. Trying to get the location updated

One of the highlights of Northfield, and great to visit in any season. The summer of course offers miles of hiking trails through prairies, forests, and rivers with lush green vegetation. The fall has amazing displays of foliage, especially in upper arb. During the winter, many of the trails are groomed into cross country skiing trails, and the rest are open for snowshoeing. And in the spring, it's always nice to see life re-emerge from the cold. There are plenty of places to park, enter, sit, or have a picnic throughout, so there's no need to plan your day meticulously to have a good time

Museum

Sights & Landmarks

Legendary bank known for its 1876 Jesse James shootout features local history exhibits & artifacts.

I was visiting my best friend, her daughter and her two granddaughters for the holidays and we planned a trip to Northfield to see the bank the James-Younger gang tried to rob back in 1876. Cathy, the Director of the society, was a delight - very genuine and had some “I Spy” games for the girls to play while we toured the museum and the actual bank. The museum is small but full of all kinds of information and there’s even a small gift shop where you can indulge your inner outlaw - shirts, books, cards, etc. I highly recommend this museum for any Jesse James aficionados. And it’s in the lovely city of Northfield.

Elaine Lamkin — Google review

Pretty small museum but very interesting. Wife and I came here and found it charming. Great gift shop on the site took

Luis Hidalgo — Google review

This is something if you love history. The last bank the Jesse James gang robbed. The actual vault and floors are intact. The actual bank ledger is there with blood on it, too. They also do a reenact the robbery on the first weekend after Labor Day.

Mysterious Traveler — Google review

Great detalis provided by the written accounts and artifacts really made the chronological walk through an enjoyable experience. Had no idea the townsfolk battled the James - Younger Gang and firced them to leave with almost nothing. Worker there was extremely knowledgeable about the event and the town's history. Must see this place if you're in town!

Steve Peterson — Google review

Another great small town in Minnesota packed with history and cozy charm (sorry, I just wrote that like a travel agent or travel mag-corny but true). I was hoping they had daily reenactments of Jesse James Gang of 8 trying to rob the First Natl Bank in Sept 1870s as I wasn't clear from website but it turns out it is only performed on the Sept anniv. I toured the historical society downtown for $5 which houses the history of James Gang, the actual original bank inside, and also the Campbell's cereal company who made brands such as Malt 'O Meal and still does. There were also breweries nearby which we try in every town & city we visit so a good afternoon!

Rho M. — Google review

Great place to stop in...$4 per person/senior admission. Short film about the Younger/James Gang.... really well done ! Loved the layout and the bank set was fantastic to see the layout....If you enjoy the legend of the JamesBrothers, a must see

Eagle — Google review

This is Jesse James hold up the bank in Northfield Minnesota you got to go there and check it out this is pretty cool this is where they tied up at three horses before they rob the bank it cost $5.00 to take the tour

James Cox — Google review

While I would like to give it a higher rating I just wasn't very enthused by the museum. While I understand that is often upkeep on even small museums can be a lot, I was still somewhat displeased with the content vs the price. If I recall correctly entry was $10 to $20, depending on age. Additionally, it all centers around the story of one bank robbery. Which is cool, sure, but I would also have liked to learn about the history of the town itself. Questions like the town's establishment, the stories of the Scandinavian immigrants, how a small town ended up with two colleges, etc. were sparsely addressed, if at all. Overall, cool story of the bank robbery which was well told but minimal content beyond that.

Love the beautiful venue! We loved all of our wine choices. Food was phenomenal! We didn’t have a very attentive server but enjoyed our time. We will be back!

Jessica Meyenburg — Google review

It has a very open atmosphere, very spacious. I am not a huge wine drinker but the three kinds I tried were good. My wife who rarely drinks wine had two glasses of a sweet white that was recommended by the waitress. I had a Betty White sandwich and it was pretty good. We both enjoyed our time there

This place is a must-visit spot for wine lovers, they get all the most important things spot on.:-This winery uses locally grown grapes for the majority of it's wine.-The wines are of excellent quality.-Tastings are done at your table, you choose 3 wines at a time.-The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The decor, atmosphere, cleanliness, and food are icing on the cake.

A good place to go after tubing on the Cannon River at at Welch village on a hot day.If you want more that hamburger at a locale bar. They finally have some food you can enjoy with some of their wines. They also sell bottled beer and pop ect. There is outdoor seating and there was pleasant live music playing when I was there.I sat at a door table and had a Stevie Nick's flat bread .Pictures shot in public.

Pretty nice small town winery! The staffs are very friendly and helpful. It costs you small amounts and you can taste a couple of their breweries. What we had was very fruitful taste, mild for everyone. They have indoor and outdoor tables for you to enjoy yours leisurely... There is a big parking lot by the winery. Also, the Cannon River trail is right next. Very convenient if you prefer a walk after your wine taste.

Peng Hsu — Google review

Loved the atmosphere, loved the wine and we decided on ordering flights, only issue was we waited well over 30 to 40 minutes for our charcuterie board, and others arriving after us, got served before us. I was hungry and had to hold off on my wine till I got food in my stomach. Our waitress was nice and felt bad we waited so long, but the only thing is she didn't come to our table to even explain why the long wait. When bringing out the board, she apologized and said that we received extra for no cost, more on the board. We ended up buying our favorites for at home.

Trish — Google review

We had not been here for a few years. Its still a nice place to visit. The wines were decent and the servers were pleasant. I liked the Mill Street Red. The pizza we ordered was the only thing we did not particularly enjoy.

John and Jody Vossen — Google review

Attended a wedding reception. The venue was wonderful! The staff were quick and friendly. The decorations that were able to be setup were amazing! I would definitely consider having my large events in this space. Additionally the winery was superb and hosted a full host of options from beer to wine to liquor. The style is modern rustic and executes it without flaw. Stop in when you are in town!

Modern rooms in a Caribbean-themed casino resort with a golf course, bowling alley & indoor pool.

Top notch service as always! Very friendly and helpful staff! Our kids had such a great time at the kids quest that even after 2 hours they really didn't want to leave! Was sad to see the beverage stations gone, but relived to find out complimentary pop was still offered at the bar. Also noticed employees walking around taking drink requests. I think these were smart ideas. We had a great time on the machines! Wish we could've stayed longer :) can't wait to return! We did miss the buffet, but I thought I saw it was opening again soon?

Joanna Mayer — Google review

I don't think we will ever go back here. The only thing that is decent is the bowling alley. We went there to the casino on a mini road trip. Decided to try our luck. We get there, no parking, no events going on, valet is full. Etc. After we do finally find a spot after waiting, we find that almost every machine is full to the max. Decided to try and find a drink station. The drink stations are now machines that you have to pay for, they are no longer free and self serve. . We lost money in the machine because it did not dispense our drinks. For the machines for themselves gave nothing. Did not get one bonus screen, cashed out 4 cent winnings. Pretty tight in a area full of people that need to make money. We go to Grand Casino and their Casino is up to par. Bonus screens, you can sit there for hours and still break even at least. It's fun, clean and the service is much better.

Went for a concert. Their event center does not have a bad seat in the house! It's a Great venue :-) we stayed in the Buffalo Tower and it was pretty good. We got food from Currents and Trade winds. Both were good. Our server at currents told us that they were very short staffed. We did have a bit of a wait but she was very pleasant. Overall good experience

Mark who drives the electric car around and picks people up and drives them back to the car was the absolute best driver and guy you could have doing a job like that he was extremely entertaining and had the most welcoming attitude and smile he made our group feel as if we were getting the VIP experience we are not big gamblers but we will definitely be back again and hopefully mark is working he made our trip a blast. Also the guy that works at the bowling alley section was super cool and helpful to us as well we are planning another visit based on the way he treated us while we visited.

Treasure Island (T.I.) is always fun to go to. It is children friendly with its bowling, arcade, and swimming. I give the rooms a 4 only because last time I was there some rooms are updated and others are old. If T.I. has updated all their rooms then I give 5 starts. Depending on who I have interacted with I usually get great service, but there's always a chance I get the person in a mood. The location is a little far from the Twin Cities area and you have to take city roads to get there.I prefer mystic lake because it seems the slots are looser there, but I have won at T.I. just not as much as Mystic Lake. I would recommend going there if you're in the area.

Check-in staff friendly and accommodating even with a long line. Worked effectively and all appeared friendly. We were in the Wolf Tower and had a great room. Modern, spacious, comfortable bed, lots of pillows, chair, bench, refrigerator, safe, nice bathroom/shower. Used the pool area, adults only area, hot tub, swim up bar and outside area. Friendly and attentive bartenders. Casino is smoke free and has usual variety. Live music was nice. They now have vending machines everywhere so not sure if you can still get free pop, watet, coffee like you used to. The one place they consistently fall short is food options. Very limited options, slow service and just all around disappointing. Otherwise good overall trip

Chris Schmitt — Google review

I was really pleased with this property especially after reading all the bad reviews. This casino is worthy of any Vegas hotel! The staff was super friendly, the rooms (we stayed in the new addition) were very nice, everything was very upscale. Tons of slots! Lots to do! Prices are reasonable $5.00 for a Miller Lite. We will definitely be back.

Jeffrey Storer — Google review

The hotel room was in the Buffalo tower. It is quite dated. There were no outlets near the bedside table to hook up phone charge. The only ones we could find were across the room or on the bathroom! The water after the shower would not completely shut off. We were thankful for the shuttle and the driver was very nice! We ate in one of the restaurants and it was OK. It's on a Saturday night so things were backed up. We had fun playing black jack!

Worst casino ever. They have become extra greedy over the past 6 months. Nothing but lying and cheating and stealing our hard earned money. This place takes your money offering very little in return. Not even a little fun while you lose! Every machine every time is nothing more than dead spins and empty bonuses on repeat! Not too long ago, Treasure Island was actually an okay place to gamble, we actually prefered it over other casinos in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but not anymore. We keep coming back hoping this time will be different and better, but unfortunately every visit ends up being worse than the one before! They have replaced fun and fair gaming with stealing and cheating fueled by their overwhelming level of pure greed.Because of this they are quickly losing their once loyal customer base. From 12.15.2023 thru 4.8.2024 we (husband and I) have lost approximately $22,000 (see some of the detailed examples below)They are intentionally stealing from me and the hundreds of others that walk through their doors on a daily basis.Seriously people we all need to STOP GAMBLING AT TREASURE ISLAND!If we don’t come, they have no one to steal from and if they can’t steal from us, they will be the ones losing.Maybe when they are the ones losing they will finally realize that greed is bad for businessBest of luck to you all

My god they had games I've never seen before. The food was especially good and the people there truly want your time to be enjoyable. Kids quest was fun for my kid. She had a wonderful time said the Mac and cheese was delicious. Parking was easy and not complicated. You have to smoke outside but it was well worth the trip. Bingo slots resort kids quest or babysitters table games and a really nice hotel. Thier promotions were way better than other places I been to and guest services was not only helpful but all around good people. Our time was relaxing and fun I will be coming back to treasure island resort and casino!!!

The hotel was nice, good band was playing and most of the staff was really nice. Was at the arcade and the server went down and they wouldn't refund my money or the other three people I was with so just wasted $40, told me that the money stays on the card for ever but I don’t live close at all and didn’t want to come back in general. The lady at the arcade was kind of rude towards us when I asked if she could help us.

Rose Suess — Google review

For me, it's a relatively close by casino. But by and large, it contains a plethora of cheaply realized slot machines, that aren't cheap to bet on... While it makes for a way to burn a few hundred dollars and an afternoon, it's more of a beating than enjoyable. Payouts are small and infrequent. Not enough to maintain interest or actually have fun...And, it's quite common to see two identical machines with completely different minimum bets available. One id played was 30 cents. It's 100% identical twin say next to it, but its minimum better was 45 cents. It's clean... And usually quite busy... But the shine the place used to have, seems gone - replaced instead with the unvarnished greed of money making.

Greg Gielda — Google review

Went there for concert. Didn't stay in a room so I couldn't give it a rating. Parking was fine but leaving was horrible. Took almost an hour to leave the area and this was two hours after the concert. The casino is great. Lots of table games and slots. Poker room has 7 tables and played 3-6 kill and 2-100 spread with no cap. I enjoyed the room. Only downside was couple dealers seemed to be beginners and no fountains for drinks for pop/coffee. Had to ask waitress or bar.

Daniel Hopson (Hoppy75) — Google review

We used to come here regularly years ago and go to the seafood night at the buffet. Now that it finally reopened after the pandemic, we were really looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately the new reservation/waitlist system is a borderline scam likely designed to get walk ins to gamble for hours on the off chance of getting in. We had this happen to our group and ended up leaving without getting in to the buffet. The best part is the casino wasn’t nearly as busy as it used to be and from talking to the staff it sounds like a good portion of the reservations are no shows and there are tons of empty tables. Definitely won’t be back.

Ryan Hagge — Google review

This is a very nice hotel and casino near Redwing, MN. They have a large gaming area, I honestly find the layout a bit confusing after several visits. They have a wide variety of modern slots, classic penny slots, a large table gaming area, as well as a bingo annex. The casino is non-smoking however there is a nice large smoking area with its own bar, so you could easily be in there the whole time. One of the biggest drawbacks in my opinion is the lack of free refreshments. There are Pepsi machines all over where you can purchase a $3 bottle and there are bars stocked with various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is a buffet and several eating establishments right off the gaming floor but honestly I don't know anything about any of that. If you're new, as I recently was, it would probably help to have a friend go with who knows the ropes. Their new member promotion included a spin on a wheel if you could accumulate 10 points. I was surprised to find out it cost several dollars for each point. It ends up costing like 11 dollars and then I only won $8 free play on the wheel. Having pointed out the opportunities, I have gone 4 times and won $100, lost $10, and came up even twice. Staff has been friendly except for one unusual experience with a somewhat hostile bartender - apparently standing at the bar and ordering a drink might be a trigger for some, you're supposed to order from the little corral bars thing. Overall a good casino, I will definitely go back.

Michael Walgren — Google review

some of the employees were quite rude, They have a lot of stupid rules. If you get one of their scooters you cannot have any alcohol. they only allow only drink at a time. So you have to completely finish one before they'll give you another. The rooms are very nice and I love the pool area. I don't like that. The pool doesn't open till four in the afternoon and closes at ten. They do have good promotions.

KAREN SWANSON — Google review

Nice, smaller casino. Has a lot to offer. Bowling, pool, spa, buffet, golf, and entertainment. When you get the players card, you receive some great promotions. Also, come on your birthday month and receive more promotions like $1 off every year you were born from your hotel room. They have tables, slots, and more. It is a destination to go to, even if you don't even like to gamble. The only thing is that some of the older hotel towers need to be upgraded. They have some great acts that come. The staff is really friendly.

Adam Saltmarsh — Google review

Recently stayed here overnight with some friends. The hotel rooms are fine but a little dated. I do know they've been updating and some of the sections of the hotel have newer rooms that are very nice. They have a massive parking lot but a shuttle found us and drove us and our stuff to the front door which was very nice.I enjoy playing roulette but this was located in the smoking section which is fine but after awhile it was a little much.Overall I had a great time and will return.

Courtney L — Google review

I really like staying here! I've stayed twice now, once for a work party and once for a wedding. Very clean and nice rooms. A little pricier. The casino was very clean and had lots of options. The swim up bar was amazing! Love that! Would stay again for sure!

Elizabeth Kolarik — Google review

Fun time. Room was a little disappointing, paid for the upgraded room but still no microwave in room. Door to bathroom was strange but overall fun evening. The bartenders and service professionals were all great, very friendly ans helpful. Will definitely be back!

Wendy Priolo — Google review

We didn't stay overnight this trip but haven't had any negative issues with rooms in the past, so I gave 5* for rooms. Service is still pretty spotty, but the buffet has opened for certain days. It was open for Easter brunch, and it's open for Mother's Day. Hopefully more times soon. Finding a drink person walking the floor is near impossible, and they don't have any self-service stations open yet. Getting a drink at the bar is near impossible also because the line is always long and usually just 2 bartenders are working. They need to have a water/soda only line available. That would be super. Lots of workers are still seen wiping down machines and chairs. I always thank these workers. Smoking by the entrances is just terrible. They are too close to the doors, and you have to walk through a cloud of smoke. Smoke if that's your thing, but for non-smokers, this is just awful. They need to be farther away from the doors if they're smoking.

Patti Baldwin — Google review

My review. Hotel room nice. Should have complimentary bottle water in rooms. Buffalo tower. Vending should have free water . I don't drink Aquafina. Free spring water only. co*ke products not Pepsi.Pepsi awful.

Hawaii 4 ever — Google review

The rooms were probably the nicest ice ever stayed in that we didn't pay extra for. Large with high ceilings and nice bathroom. The shower was amazing. It was actually large with glass shower doors. No cheap flimsy curtain that always gets in the way. Adjustable shower head and hand held wand that actually works and has great water pressure. My only complaint is the lack of cover space in the bathroom. Bed was nice, albeit a little hard. But that's a personal preference. Good size fridge and a safe round out the amenities. The food was very good, and the service was good for the most part. We ate in the currents restaurant one evening and it was way too loud. No sound deadening items other than the seats you sat in. One almost had to yell in order to talk to the person next to you. Not an exaggeration. The waitress we had that night was horrific. She joked about things she shouldn't have, never checked on us, and forgot things we asked for. I would not eat there again. We did not try any of the other restaurants, hopefully they are better. The casino portion is easy to get lost in. The casino staff was very helpful and polite. The gift shop could use a few more items, especially men's clothing. Parking is plentiful, although an extra shuttle or two wouldn't hurt so one doesn't have to wait so long, or walk a mile. The carts to help get your luggage to your room or back to your car are also few and far between. You need to be quick in order to get one. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay here again. The live entertainment was awesome with the Rockin' Hollywood's, and the MOTM car show was extremely cool with a parking lot full of Mustang's. From the classics, to the newest ones you could buy.

Went for a rock concert. Not at the ampitheater but the event center. Will not be back for a concert. A comedy show or other type of show I would definitely come for, but not a concert.Moderate sized casino. Lots of slots new and old. Someone won $26k on a slot when we were there! I'd come back to play also.

Jessica Husted — Google review

We were in the Buffalo tower and our room was well used. I did not feel the cost of the room, equalled the value. I heard from other guests, that their room was better. Current Restaurant was awsome and for us the best value.. it seemed that we had to wait on lines for everything. Not too many guest, just not enough staff like most places. But the staff we did interact with was friendly, helpful and awesome.

Jeff Omans — Google review

We had a great time. Just a quick one night visit to the Casino. Really loved the non-smoking gaming areas. All the employees were very nice and helpful.

Joseph Marra — Google review

Had a great stay in a room in the newest of their towers. Neat and clean. Busy weekend there and didn't really experience any issues. Only thing that could have been better was the bar service. Little short on staff for the number of people in for the evening.

Martin Skiba — Google review

***NEW YEARS WEEKEND***When reservation was made, a refrigerator was requested and upon check-in and arriving at room, it was awaiting by the door in hallway outside my room.Shuttle was convenient and fast. We were able to ask front belt hop to page shuttle for instant ride to car out in overflow.VIP event for New Year's Eve with the Midtown Men for show with dinner was spectacular. Great 60's theme and music to be enjoyed.

Kristie Bryant — Google review

I'm not a typical patron - we stayed one night, came to see a show in the Parlay Lounge, no gambling. Not sure if there was a big event there that day, but there were tons of people and lines. Had a room in the Wolf Tower. There were no available luggage carts at check in time. The room was clean and we had plenty of space but it was overpriced at nearly 400.00 and no room service or literature in the room for food/things to do. The mattress was a bit crunchy. Went to see a rock show, there is a nice stage setup at Parlay Lounge was great and the sound engineer did a fantastic job w/lights & sound. There is no table service and the bar staff were extremely overworked and lines were long.

Laurel F — Google review

Recently returned from. There. The room in wolf tower was beautiful. The fact that there is no cleaning service for multiple night stY is horrible policy. The casino was okay. Loved the fact there is no smoking. However the machines were so tight. Not sure I will return

Scenic winery with wine sampling & a seasonal pizza restaurant featuring outdoor deck seating.

Fast friendly service with delicious pizza and so many yummy wines plus a great view!! Gluten free and veggie friendly optionsavailable.

Emily Engelhardt — Google review

The vineyard is not hard to find, located just south of Highway 61. There is a good bit of parking, but not all of it would be accessible to those with walking disabilities, as there are some gravel-covered slopes. The shop and bar is a beautiful space lined with bottles and décor. We ordered two flights, one red and one white, then walked through the building to the patio. It is a large space, mostly covered, that opens to a deck overlooking the vineyard. It began to rain as we sat there, so we didn't get to explore the grounds. The view was lovely as we sampled the wines and discussed them.

Beth Cato — Google review

We stopped in mid-April for drinks. The location is great, and hidden amongst houses (Guessing those were built way after the winery). The outdoor seating and patio are very good, and they also have good indoor seating for bad weather. Starting in May they also do wood fired pizzas in their outdoor brick pizza oven on Fridays and Saturdays. I wish we were able to try that out, but they do offer some small appetizers the rest of the year too.My wife and I both did a wine flight and mimosa. We tried most of the whites, and a few reds, all were good. We both also enjoyed the mimosas a lot.

Pete Blagoev — Google review

We have been to a number of wineries and found the Falconer to be pretty mediocre. We did a flight of wines, but only considered purchasing one. We ended up not buying any wine, but we did get pizza. My wife had the gluten free margarita pizza and I had a create your own 16" (gluten containing crust) pizza. The pizzas were great.

Urrvano Gamez — Google review

The pizza we ordered was burnt and potatoes were undercooked - almost raw. I had high hopes for the wine, but it turned out to be bitter and salty tasting. The only redeeming aspect was the scenery.

Rebecca Ann — Google review

Not very inviting coming in driving, the walk through the back room to the patio is very odd. Wines were some of the least favorite of the five vineyards we visited that day. The view of the patio is amazing. The cardboard cup holders are a nice touch.

Gregory Bernard, D.C. — Google review

There are loads of reasons to love this place. I am going to talk about 4 of them: 1) the wine; 2) the wood-fired pizza; 3) the service; and 4) the amazing Martin Zellar.1. The wine was excellent. We tried Marquette (a red) and Snowy White (a white). The Marquette was a bit sweeter than I was expecting but still delicious. The Snowy White was quite refreshing and brilliant, especially given it was a warm day. The hints of pineapple in it were amazing!2. There are a wide variety of unique wood-fire pizza options to choose from. I went for the Thai Chicken and it was fabulous. Not disappointed! On a side note, I am not certain what makes their crust different here but it was so delicious that I ate it. Usually I don't--that's just the way I've been my whole life.3. Our server, Brittany, was so attentive, informative, and efficient. She could not have done a better job--and it was really busy. She's amazing and I hope she's thoroughly appreciated!4. We came to Falconer Vineyards for Martin Zellar, in specific. We've been following him and his groups for a long time...a really long time! Seeing the acoustic show here while enjoying everything else was phenomenal. So, if you love music and have the chance to indulge here--indulge!Thank you for the wonderful experience, Falconer Vineyards!

JILL MCKELLAN — Google review

Had a great time here sampling wines. Was a big fan of the cider and some of the whites. Extremely helpful staff and I bet the place is gorgeous in the summer when it isnt covered in snow.Cannot wait to check out their outdoor patio sometime in the summer as well.

Ryan Larson — Google review

Beautiful location on hillside. Challenging for large vehicles and trailers over 16ft. We got our 32ft trailer backed towards barn above winery only because of 4x4 low and not many cars. They have the best full body flavor from UofM grapes. They decided to skip 90% of the ciders due to covid. Food menu too - just flights and cups/bottles. Pleasant staff

Dan Babineau — Google review

The patio has a super-beautiful view and the servers are friendly. Unfortunately the crazy amount of very persistent flies and the mediocre quality of the pizza (used to be good ingredient quality seems to have gotten worse over the last 5 years) had us depart after just one slice.I'll try it again, because the people are nice, but not this year. And not if I see that many flies again.

Donovan Walker — Google review

Had a lovely time at Falconer Vineyards during a visit to Red Wing on our anniversary. It really is a beautiful place! So cool that they fire their own pizzas in a wood-fire stove! The parking is a little wonky, but there is a lot of it! The patio out back is really nice. We had a wonderful waitress and all the staff were very personable and friendly. Every single one we walked past spoke to us and thanked us for coming! We hope to come back next year! The wine was delicious!

Sarah — Google review

We take a yearly trip down the River Road and have stopped here about 4 times. Today will be our last time giving this place a shot. They normally are VERY busy. The first time, we got terrible wine service and couldn't order a pizza as there was a 2 hour wait. The second time was just ok..wone wasnt as good as we remembered. The third time the staff was so condescending to people that were there that knew nothing about wine that I almost felt the need to speak up. They acted like new people coming in were a burden to them because they were already busy. That brings me to yesterday. Their posted hours were until 6 on fb and online. We got there and they said we close at 4. It was 3:50 and we drove an hour and 1/2. She said hmmmm.....ok. She said you can don5 tasting super quick for $11.00 each. No deacriptions just a huge rush. Thats it. Not, hey you can do a couple quick mini tasting for free without description since we are closing without notice and i am being rude...NOTHING. we shouldn't have stopped here and knew it. We wanted to give them one last shot because the facility is nice but NEVER EVER again. Obviously....they don't need us. And we don't need their pretentious attitudes and their so so wine. Hit up ANY of the other wineries on the WI and MN side and skip this one on your trip down or up the river road.

Angela M — Google review

The place is pretty and the deck overlooking the patio makes for a nice stop. However, the service is terrible. I came with a goup of family from out of town and quite frankly was embarrassed to take them here based on our experience. We waited 15 minutes before our sever came greet us and take orders. We then patiently waited for our wine which took 20 minutes, I had walk into the front bar area and ask for our wine! Our server had served other tables their food and wine but not us, then disappeared. How do you ignore a table of 8 people!??

Museum dedicated to preserving & celebrating the story of Red Wing's clay industry.

It’s been awhile since our last visit but always a great place to spend time at Redwing. When we look at each shelves it feels like walking through history of pottery industry for the past century.

Freda Lee — Google review

Great place to learn and view the history of Red Wings pottery! I thought it was cool they still sold pieces in their gift shop that were made in past collections.

One of the highlights of our riverboat cruise. And if you're interested in purchasing an authentic piece of Red Wing pottery, buy it from the Museum. Their prices are the best in town and the proceeds help support the museum.

The Frank Factor Show — Google review

Red Wing Pottery was a big deal for this community. I felt like this museum had a great collection to explain the different uses (crocks & jugs, art, and sewer pipe). The art pottery seems to have a following with some pieces being worth several hundred dollars.

Travis Houzenga — Google review

Very nice Museum. Lots to look at and a nice gift shop. The volunteers were very friendly.

Rebecca Huberty — Google review

Definitely stop by this free, and fascinating piece of American Art Pottery history! They have many, if not all, the works ever produced by Red Wing Pottery. I need to return to spend more time perusing, and speaking to the lovely woman in the gift shop, who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

WRL — Google review

Pottery thrown before your eyes, the history of a ubiquitious brand, a visual trip through pottery styles in America and a chance to own your own historic Red Wing design all are available at this fascinating, well-documented museum. The Red Wing pottery started producing stoneware jugs and crocks in 1877 and evolved with the times into popular dinnerware in the 1950s and 60s. The free museum takes visitors through the evolution. When we visited there were several excellent tour guides who were knowledgeable about the changes. There is even a wall that shows the layers of broken pottery found in the company's dump site. I loved it.

Jill Easton — Google review

Fascinating history of Red Wing Pottery. In addition to learning history, there are thousands of pottery pieces to look at. And it's free! The gift shop sells a variety of Red Wing Pottery that people have donated (the factory closed in 1967, so it's from before the )

Erin Winchell — Google review

My friend and I traveled to Red Wing for a day trip. Our first stop was the Pottery museum. It was incredible to see pieces that were made over a hundred years ago. I wish there was more description of what some pieces were, but overall a great place to check out. It is a free will donation admission.

Ash H — Google review

Who knew pottery could have such an exciting history? I am AMAZED at the level of this collection and the detail preserved. What started with one woman's amazing collection has become a ceramic jewel for the local community. The color, the variety, the pieces - truly a feast for the eyes!

Brucemore is a historical estate built in 1836 encircled by gardens that offers tours, concerts, and cultural events. The property includes a gift shop and flower market. Visitors can experience the heritage of this mansion through various programs hosted at the venue. Brucemore's rich history is well-preserved and celebrated, making it an essential destination for anyone interested in exploring the past of Cedar Rapids' culture.

Amazing at Christmas time! Definitely a must see and worth the ticket price. Going when the basem*nt bar is open to tours is really neat to see as well! My teenage kids and I really enjoyed the entire tour.

Shirley Amthauer — Google review

Closed for repairs. But visitor center was open. Could also walk around the gardens. Beautiful.

Robin Krautbauer — Google review

Brucemore is a lovely 19th. Century mansion. It contains original art and architectural details by Grant Wood. Especially charming is a small fresco on an upstairs sleeping porch. There is a great deal of beautiful woodwork in the main hall and reception rooms. Be sure to look up, to see the Classical-themed mural that borders the walls there. Most of the furnishings and domestic items are original to the house. The remainder are authentic period items. Keep an eye out, and you will discover a link to the Titanic tragedy. During this Christmas season, the home boasts 14 holiday trees, as well as many other seasonal decorations. In the growing season, the gardens are open to the public with no fee. The grounds are still recovering from the 2020 derrecho, so you will see many newly planted trees; but many large, mature trees survived. Brucemore is a great destination for adult lovers of history, art, and architecture. Because it is a "hands-off" museum, families with children may prefer to visit only the gardens. (12/2021)

Excellent time at the concert in the courtyard. The musicians were very talented and entertaining. It was well organized, tables all had great views, parking on the grounds was easy in and easy to get out quick. Very pleased.

Kevin Birkhofer — Google review

A tour of Brucemore is always a pleasure and is especially so during the holiday season. Creative and beautifully executed holiday displays that encompass every room. Not only lovely trees and garlands, but the displays also include audio descriptions and music appropriate to each vignette. At other times of the year, interesting and beautiful gardens and outdoor events provide diverse entertainment. Large amounts of structural and landscape recovery have taken place following the damaging storm that occurred three years ago. This must have taken an army of dedicated and passionate supporters. Thankful for it.

Brucemore is great and a wonderful way to see how the wealthy lived from 1880s until when the last owner passed in 1970s. Great Midwest history. Wonderful pieces of art and furnishings.

Ken Boatwright — Google review

Me and my dad chose to visit this place for my last day of staying in Cedar Rapids, the mansion and the grounds itself were very beautiful and scenic. We ordered the tickets for a non guided tour before we got there. The staff who scanned our tickets told us that it was fine to walk around the house and that everything checked out. The staff at the front was nice but looked at us a little weird and overall seemed off. My dad and I went to the 3rd floor first and chose to make our way to the bottom floor from there. As we had gotten up there a female staff worker had followed us up and said told us we has snuck away from the rest of them. We explained that we had the no tour guide tickets and she smiled sarcastically and preceded to follow us around while we toured. No matter what floor we were on she followed us and tried to guide us. We even followed all the rules, didn’t touch anything, only went in doors that were open, no flash photography, etc. It was tolerable until we made our way back down to the first floor while in the library, the staff kept giving us glances and seemed to be keeping such an eye on us as if we were trying to steal something. Then right as we left we overheard one of the staff say “they’re finally leaving.” Overall it was not an experience I would like to come back too unless the staff were to change.

Sydney Scott — Google review

After waiting for the house to open, we were turned away because we had not purchased tickets ahead of time. There was nothing posted outside of the house stating tickets were needed or that they needed to be purchased ahead, we were told we could wait another 30 minutes and come back for a self guided tour but weren't aloud to go at the time we were there ....we were the first people in line when they opened the house. We went ahead and left as we didn't have the time to wait the additional time and it saved our group $70.00. So I would highly recommend finding and purchasing the tickets ahead of time or don't waste your time by even going.

Amy R — Google review

We didn't get to go inside, but the gardens and grounds were lovely and there were plenty of photo opportunities. The pet cemetery was a highlight of our visit! Beautiful mansion, excellent and informative tour! (Many stairs, so be prepared!) Lovely grounds to walk around. Also, another exhibit hall with many pictures, history and some artifacts. Movies(!) taken in the first half of the 1900's of life in the Hall family: playing with their pet lion, behind the scenes of Gone with the Wind, and other everyday occurrences!!! Such a great tour. Not a huge fan. This should be a funky hipster paradise, but it is pretty much a tourist trap. Most of the places serve more wings and busch light than they do Czech food. There is really nothing to do other than eat, and drink. It reminds me of the downtowns that serves tourist attractions without the attraction.

The docent said they have quite a bit more, it was just not currently on display. It would be wonderful to see more. Maybe next time. The docents were very knowledgeable about their subjects and very friendly.

Went with my mom and this year my aunt to the annual Christmas festivities that they hold every year to celebrate the Czech Christmas traditions. Czech town has a few little stores and annual festivities in the summer celebrating the morel mushroom. It's called hobby days. Check it out it's a great time to spend with family and learning new things.

What a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly, nice, and helpful. The exhibits were interesting and full of history. The library is a good place to start a genealogy search if you have Czech/Slovakian heritage. We were fortunate enough to get a chance to witness the Bohemian Garnets exhibit which is only at this museum out of all of the museums in the USA and is only here for a short time before going back to Prague. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Nice little village on the river.. had a good breakfast and flew my drone a bit.

dan — Google review

The village is a small area and it's very walkable and you can visit a multitude of interesting shops. Make sure you visit the Czech Museum since I found it worthy. I had very little concept of the struggles in this country and after a visit I came away with tremendous respect upon learning the history and endurance of the Czech people. This museum has an unusable way of transmitting personal struggles. You must visit. Honestly, I am not a fan of museums, but I do recommend this one. I especially enjoyed the film showing how this large museum was moved after a severe flood. Fascinating.

Extremely busy on a Saturday. Visited NewBo bike shop. Very tight quarters in there when a lot of people show up. But very helpful staff and lots of bikes

Cool area! Wish it opened just a little earlier, ended up just window shopping while waiting for our seat at Lucky's. But the shops are so cute and it has a really cool vibe! We even found a Painted Rock! I'm so excited to see people are still doing that! I plan to relocate it :)

I should have taken pictures of all the amazing, talented artists! I will the next time I here! The authentic tacos are 😻 they have tons of vendors & a variety of just everything you can possibly think of. From food, the gem stones, eclectic plant decor & plant holders, magnets, homemade jewelry, etc. I would’ve never known other than word of mouth. This place is AMAZING!!🤩 ❤️🥰

Museum

Library

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is a cultural institution that showcases exhibits on the Czech and Slovak experience. It features a genealogy library, a Christmas market, and other attractions. Despite not being very large, it's definitely worth the admission fee regardless of whether or not you have any heritage ties to these cultures. If you're ever in Cedar Rapids, this place is worth stopping by along with other nearby attractions.

Incredible displays of information of the Czechoslovakian culture! Beautiful exhibits, rich history, and informative staff. Highly recommend to anyone - local or otherwise.

Pros: Some interesting history. Lots of traditional garments. Interactive displays. Nice place to visit for an hour or so. Friendly staff.Cons: Parking. Price. Only about 30% of the total size of the building is dedicated to museum exhibits, disappointed there wasn't more to see.

________ — Google review

Very nice museum. It had a bunch of pictures, films, music, really captured what it was like according to history books. Hands on exhibits, a house from the years, it's a great history lesson and it keeps children entertained with all the stuff to look at.

Had an amazing time here. The volunteers, jacob and mugil, gave me a tour of the immigrant home which was very informative. Don’t miss it if you’re in Cedar Rapids!

Jamie Eridon — Google review

My wife and I had some time to burn between landing in Cedar Rapids and catching a shuttle to Dubuque, and we found this museum on the map and couldn't resist stopping in to learn some familial history. We only had about 20 minutes, so I asked the staff for the highlights. We were able to rush through the Faces of Freedom exhibit in the Jiruska gallery and the Sleger Family cabin. The exhibits were informing, entertaining, and plentiful. The staff was so kind and understanding of our situation, and very knowledgeable. While our time there was way too short for my liking, it's only prompted me to want to learn more. If I ever find myself back in Cedar Rapids I'd make a point to schedule a longer visit.

Becca Thomas — Google review

My husband and I stumbled in here, the displays were so informative and I love learning about another culture. We ended walking around for a couple of hours, the clothes and music were by far my favorite, the ship was also pretty cool. The gift shop seemed crazy high in prices but worth getting a couple of trinkets to commemorate your visit, the ladies working there were so nice!

Kerri Jo Sweeney — Google review

I've known about this museum for what seems like forever, but had never visited until recently. So on a recent trip to Iowa, I decided I would spend one half of a day checking out things in Cedar Rapids and this was on my agenda. It's not a particularly huge museum, but definitely worth the admission fee to check out the exhibits on display, whether you have and Czech or Slovak heritage or not. If you are passing through Cedar Rapids, it's a good place to stop in as well as checking out some of the places in the surrounding neighborhood!

I visited the National Check and Slovak Museum and Library for the first time Saturday, February 3, 2018 to check out the Art of Accessories exhibit.I really enjoyed the exhibit of folk art and the detail of the handwork that was exhibited. Also the permanent exhibit of the velvet revolution was very informational and I appreciated the interactive immersion of the exhibits.I am thinking of joining as an Individual, renewable annually for only $35.00 a year. Gets you in free and I would be supporting the museum.I had fun, would like to go back soon and encourage you to check it out. Admission is $10.00. Not bad for the few hours would could spend soaking up the history. Also I watched 4 Bald Eagles fishing on the river from the entryway. very neat.

Shopping mall

Shopping

Area shopping staple with an NHL regulation-sized ice rink, food court, carousel & movie theater.

I like mall walking, selection of stores, movie theater & dining options.Always being cleaned, staff is helpful.Ice rink and merry go round are some of my favorite areas. Also, world class children's museum.

Paul r — Google review

Great mall, still busy in light of many malls around the country beginning to fail. Vibrant, clean, great shops that make a lot of sense. Play area for kiddos, children's museum, Target, ice skating rink, nice movie theater, and everything else one could want at a mall in a smaller city!

Renatta Stevens — Google review

I only went to one store, Best Buy. They ordered one item for me, and I purchased one item. The staff were most helpful and pleasant. It was a joy to see smiling faces. Like all stores across the country, there was less merchandise in the store and less staff. When competing with Amazon and similar companies, things need to change. That is expected. This is a pleasant store to visit when needed. You won't be disappointed.

Jean Markwell — Google review

Really cool mom watches the shops offering valuable and unique products and services

Brian Foster — Google review

It's like any other mall, but its so much more than that. They are family friendly, great store choices, and clean. They also have adequate parking (and let's be honest, parking is always going to be hard at a popular mall, but they do ok) and good security. It really comes down to, would you want to shopping, parking, and eating outside going door to door in the elements? That's why I go to the mall. Convenience.

Arinze — Google review

Very cool to have an ice rink inside right next to the food court. There's a good selection of shops, and a Best Buy and Target attached. It one of the better malls I've been to, considering malls in general are a dying breed.

Brandon Carr — Google review

This is what I remember malls being like when I was young. The mall was full of people and full of stores. There were people eating at the food court and an ice skating rink and a merry go round. I wish more of these were still around. They seem to be going away. Great mall!

Richard Bruehahn — Google review

My kids (2 and 4) love the mall! The mall is vibrant and full of people - it reminds me of an putting to the mall in the early 90s.There are lots of shops - the Barnes and Noble here is awesome. Other notables include Target and Scheels and lots of small shops. Magic Mushroom is a fun pizza shop next to the carousel in the atrium area. The mall also has an ice rink, movie theatre, carousel (!), childrens museum, and a large atrium area with lots of shops.

John J — Google review

I have been coming here my entire life. This mall is well kept and has so much to do. They are constantly getting new stores and attractions. Food court is excellent with plenty of options. Movie theater and kids museum is great also.

Trent — Google review

They have all the stores I ❤️ it here to shop the kids museum was really nice we had a birthday party there

Linetta Mosley — Google review

Still a few good stores left for it being a dying mall, as they all are. Movie theater is really nice and most of all the store staff is very friendly. They do a great job keeping it clean. Let's not forget about the ice skating rink. Nice playplace for the kiddos!

Brandan Somers — Google review

It's one of my favorite places to stop whenever I'm in town! It is one of the last real malls, with very few empty store fronts, great stores, and a full food court! It's worth a visit as there's always something going on, with great parking as you'd expect of a mall this size.

Don Arnold — Google review

Very large mall I would say too many selections it is a single story but it has a lot of options you have a bunch and nobles and several other areas Hot topic Spencer's jewelry store you name it it's probably here occasionally they'll even have a little pop-up stores that you didn't even think you needed food selection is a lot larger than some of the other malls I've been in no you're not going to find a hidden gym or you might it all depends on your mindset here but be prepared to get a little bit lost and prepare to have cash on you The little pop-up stands your numerous and some of the quality of the items they carry or anywhere from lackluster to oh my god how can they give this away for this much All in all a very fun experience be prepared to spend some time in there because it's not a just to get in get out kind of place you will get lost you will wonder and you will find things that you never thought should be this place is motto should be everything and more emphasis on more

My kiddos absolutely loved this place. Beautiful place with fun and learning activities for the kids. We love coming here for a little adventure. The staffs here are friendly and hardworking. They are always disinfecting everything and that's a plus. We had a blast and can't wait to visit again.

A fun learning environment for kids. Staff are hard at work making sure things run smoothly, but you find things here and there that do not work (like trace board in the painting room). The aviation section, supermarket, pizzeria, and farm are among the most attractive rooms.

Sadjad Anzabi Zadeh — Google review

Love this place! We have the annual pass and it pays itself off with just a few visits. The kid loves it here with so many different activities to do. You can spend hours and still not see or do everything. Keep in mind, there are two floors with activities. Upstairs there is a room specifically for kids under 5, as well as a designated room for trains on the far end of the blue room. But pretty much everything is age appropriate.

This is a great place to take your kids! The weekend that we went was incredibly popular and there were SO many kids! We ended up having to wait about 30 minutes to get in which was fine. My step daughter and nephew had a blast either way!

Took my 3 1/2 year old son for the first time. He loves it especially the skateboard room and the slide. We've been to multiple children's museums and this one is really fun. It's a little smaller than what we're used to but good exhibits.

Very cool experience! My son ran around so excited and played with so many things. They have tons if things to do. I also had fun going into tiny houses and stuff pretending to be a giant. Lots if learning things. This place is very creative. They do their best to keep it clean as well.

I used to come here as a kid 20 years ago and now I get to bring my kids here! It’s so much fun and for the price you can’t beat it. We spent 3 hours in here easily. So much to do it’s great for all ages! Toy shop attached is nice as well.

Trent — Google review

So much stuff to do and see! Two floors of entertainment. There’s stuff for all ages. Lots of cool stuff on the walls to look at too. Everything is well bolted down and baby proofed. My wild 1 year old had tons of fun. We loved the quiet room to take a little break! The whole place is just really thoughtfully designed. Staff was constantly cleaning and wiping down toys and surfaces, and they even have baskets by the entrances to each area for toys that got chewed on and need cleaned! We’ll be back often for years to come.

Libby — Google review

A great place to spend the day with your kids. We visited on a weekday afternoon and it was fairly empty, which was nice. Workers can be seen frequently cleaning play areas and walls are equipped with lots of hand sanitizers. Good for children of all ages. Different areas include a pizza shop, grocery store, farmer’s market, open play area with stage and costumes, a bank, post office, ambulance and hospital, arts and crafts room, aerial room, foam building blocks, legos, play room with slides, and more.

Ashley Goodwin — Google review

My kids (2 and 4) love the children’s museum. There are tons of activities geared towards their ages (and older). Many different activity rooms - farm, trains, grocery store, hospital, rocket ship, airplanes, skate boards, etc. mostly non digital activities (which is great), but there are a couple interactive screens. If you are going to be a regular consider getting an annual pass. You can get in an hour earlier Wed-Sat and the pass pays for itself.Museum is located in the mall - check the carousel or ice skating rink out if you get there too early (like me).

John J — Google review

It doesn't look very big from the mall entrance so we didn't have high expectations but they are part of the children's museum network so we figured we'd check it out anyway. We were surprised how many activities they have! It's much bigger than it looks, with a wide range of detailed exhibit rooms for all ages. The air and space section is particularly impressive with multiple simplified flight sims for kids to try out.

Andy Carlberg — Google review

I have ages 12 to 2 and they absolutely love this place. They learn so much through play. There is so much more than what I shared in these pictures and each time we go, we spend time in different rooms. The only downfall is having a store that kids can run into right by the entrance/exit. My 3 year old has a hard time understanding why I can't purchase a $40 box of magformers each time we go. I love that there are some reasonable priced items but it's not helpful when I would rather get my children into the learning section of the museum. This is a big struggle for us. Still, what a great learning center for the kiddos. I recommend purchasing a membership.

Museum

Sights & Landmarks

Dedicated in 1962, this library & museum features exhibits related to President Herbert Hoover.

Visited in August 2021. Interesting to see the old village and the quality put into the village. Many buildings have been moved from their original locations to the current location at the Museum grounds. The museum does a good job of portraying the life of Hebert Hoover and making the division between his personal life and his time as president.

Jacob N. Wienke — Google review

I came through August 19th 2020, very possibly the worst time to visit in recent history. It was COVID so most everything was shut down. Then they just had the terrible derecho so a great number of trees has been taken down by the winds. Some very majestic trees toppled, what a mess. The staff was friendly. I visited the period make shift town and some of the out buildings. was able to enter the replica boyhood home. I thought the final resting place of President and Mrs. Hoover was very elegant and stately, it was beautiful. The grounds were well kept and manicured around the final resting place. So terrible some of the great trees were now gone however. There is a shelter build out back by the boy scouts. There is a good private restroom there.I was able to take a longer walk through the prairie like young Hoover must have. A very pretty place which helped keep President Hoover Grounded. My great great relative was his Secretary of War.

Windy City Blues Society — Google review

The museum is pretty small for $10. You can watch a 23 min video that basically tells you what is on all of the plaques in the museum. They try to incorporate items from the time period and less actual presidential items owned by Hoover. They could use some cleaning up as there is a dead bug on one of the books that clearly should not be there. They currently have a depressing Russian famine exhibit as well. They buildings from Hoover's childhood are free to go into. You can walk to the gravesite or drive pretty close and park, depending on the number of visitors. They say "up a hill" but it's not so bad. The staff is very friendly and likes to talk, but she didn't seem to up to date with the actual exhibits when questioned.

august fds — Google review

Very well done, smaller presidential museum. There is a small film to watch, then a mix of visual displays with very good signage. The museum tells a balanced, in depth story of his life from birth in a tiny home thru his death in the early 60’s. Hoover’s rise from being orphaned at an early age, being raised by his relatives to college graduation and economic success in mining, then government service and his one term Presidency. Hoover seemed to be a very talented individual, a victim of his times, and perhaps too humble for a top politician. Gained an appreciation for his knowledge and accomplishments. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good on site parking, no restaurant on site.

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum, located in West Branch, Iowa, showcases the life and presidency of Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States. It houses Hoover's documents, artifacts, and exhibits detailing his humanitarian work and the challenges of his presidency during the Great Depression. The library also serves as a resource for researchers interested in this period of American history.

I never knew much about President Hoover, but I can't say that any more! Nice museum - an interesting 22-minute introductory film, lots of artifacts, and placards. I especially enjoyed reading portions of letters written by Herbert Hoover - pre & post presidency. I wish there were more of those. There are other shorter videos explaining other parts of his life along the way. Especially moving are the interviews of people who were young children remembering being fed & helped by Hoover after WWII. The museum certainly informed & influenced my knowledge of history; I really like what I now know about the man!

Beautiful place to see the grounds and burial place of one of our presidents! Unfortunately we didn’t tour the museum because it was just a little too much per ticket. We did however visit the gift shop located inside! Lots of neat little things to choose from for your souvenir purchases!

I haven't visited a Presidential Library yet that has disappointed, and this one is no exception. A lot to learn, especially given the way President Hoover has been treated by some historians and media folks. You'll leave with a whole new perspective on this great man, and you'll understand why the All In The Family theme song says "Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again." Kudos to the staff, friendly and very knowledgeable. An all-around terrific experience.

Historic site for the USA. The birthplace and first years of President Hoover's life. Everything around is neat and tidy thanks to the work of the National Park Service rangers. So if you are on the I-80, I recommend you get off the highway and take your time to visit this place. It's worth it.

What a beautiful place to see! We enjoyed walking the grounds and taking in part of our presidential history. The little house where Herbert Hoover was born, was absolutely darling! Be sure to check out all the buildings and read about them along the way! Also be sure to visit the visitors center and get some nice souvenirs from the gift shop area! I recommend this place for kids and adults both!

This is a really neat historic place. Crazy how a poor orphaned boy in the middle of nowhere Iowa could become president. The presidential library was really neat as well. It’s definitely a step into the past. You need to reserve tickets online to get in, but when I was there you could also just walk in and buy them. If you go in February expect no higher than 14F temps and a cool breeze.

I didn't know much about, Mr. Hoover...but now I do! Very cool place to visit! You get to see the small town he lived in, including his home, old school house, & an active blacksmith shop! The staff was amazing! Chelsea, was very informative on what it takes, being a blacksmith! This is a must visit, for any fan of American history! Very cool! The video in the welcome center was very informative! Here's some of my pics!

This was a lovely spot to visit with restored/preserved buildings. There were signs explaining everything. I didn’t go into the buildings because I had a dog with me, but I did glance in. We also took a nice walk on the grass trail. I was there on a Friday morning and it was kind of cold which meant that there wasn’t very many people there.

This was a very well done museum!. So pleasantly surprised. I loved walking the paths to take the tour of the different places in Hoover’s life. Our favorite was meeting park ranger /blacksmith Chelsea. She was so passionate about her work and life passion. It wasn’t just Hoover that left you inspired. She definitely did too.The prairie is beautiful and so is the whole area. My son and I enjoyed doing the Junior park ranger booklet that had us truly learning.Well done:)

Informative film in visitor center. Staff very helpful. Campus not crowded so very nice. Blacksmith shop had demonstrations. Interesting to see his birth home, school that he attended, and Quaker meeting house where his mother provided inspirational talks. Very pleased with visit. Stamps for national park passport were available in visitor center. You park in parking lot outside visitor center and it is a very short walk to all buildings.

Enjoyed the video on Herbert Hoover in the Visitors Center. It was fun to walk and go through the area. We didn't have time to go through the Library and Museum, but we will come back at another time to visit.

Very nice grounds. I was surprised to see the president and first lady were actually laid to rest here and the memorial is very nice. Nice walking trails with plenty of big and old trees. There is something like an old neighborhood of late 1800 to early 1900 homes nice to walk through. The museum itself is great. Lots of history and story of the presidents life. The first lady was absolutely fantastic and such an interesting woman and strong, strong character. What do I remember now from the this president? I would say he was a great humanitarian who held office during tough and unforgiving times.

Herbert Hutchinson — Google review

There are not many Presidential Library museums, and this one is a little off the beaten path compared to most. It is almost a campus with an eclectic grouping of buildings, statues, a visitor center, and the museum all somewhat spread out.Everyone on the property was courteous and helpful. There may have been 10 visitors total the day we visited, so there were no lines and we were able to tour through everything at our own pace.We started in the Visitor Center with a shirt film, walked the campus for a few minutes and then toured the museum. It is pretty much what you would expect in small town Iowa. Kudos to President Hoover and all of what he overcame to rise to the presidency.

Chris Rehberg — Google review

Location worked out as it's right off the interstate compared to off the beaten path but that's just luck and geography. It's a beautiful area with short hikes. The first floor is the button museum, a huge upgrade from when it was located in the old spot. The jewelry for sale is affordably priced and the displays are clean. The second floor is dedicated to local business. The lady at the front was very nice and helpful.

This place is so cool! They have a lot of fun and interactive exhibits for kids. I liked the giant muscle diorama the most. It was really educational. A great place to spend an hour when in downtown Muscatine. The lady running the gift shop was super nice. She gave my kids a fun pamphlet about muscles and was lovely to talk to. Worth the visit just to talk to her!

Prickles Hoggington — Google review

A cute and interesting museum. Lots of interesting information. If you are a crafter or a button person please stop by.

So much interesting history and a lot to learn! We spent almost two hours but wish we had more time! If you have any interest in the history of fashion, it’s a must see!

Julie Windschitl — Google review

This is a very informative place, so much to see and read here. It's well laid out and consists of two levels. Definitely a learning museum with so many old pieces of machinery there. It gives a true meaning of tedious work for the people employed there. There is no cost to enjoy the museum however they do have a donation box near the front door. Please consider a nice donation as it's what keeps this place open.

Came here on a school field trip. Terry Eagle gave a brief presentation of the history of the pearl button factory. From its beginning to its demise. Did not realize the extensive historical influence this industry had on the growth of Muscatine. There are many items on display related to the pearl button manufacturing. There is a gift shop. Worth the trip. Call ahead and ask for a tour. Recommend!

Worth every minute. Interesting bit of history we never knew about. Lovely docents who answered questions and seem to enjoy sharing personal stories to add even more flavor to the visit.

Linda Rupert — Google review

Very informative and enlightening. Volunteer Kelly was excellent in showing us around and augmenting the displays with great stories. A lot of history about Muscatine. Check out the second floor, too.

Richard Wildhirt — Google review

The woman working there was amazing with her knowledge, she gave the two of us a tour, what a treat to learn so much about the history of A Button. And how certain shells are propagate! I was in awe. What a hidden gem. I'd highly recommend going to Muscatine Iowa to tour this museum of the Button. Interesting and displayed well. Hope this woman will be there to give you her private tour, it was a real treat. I'm sorry, I don't recall her name! She was wonderful.

Definitely an awesome old threshers, well worth the drive, the grounds and events are well organized and easy to get to. The town as a whole is very nice to visit also.

We went for the Halloween event. They had a Haunted train ride, a trolly ride and a spooky carousel with unlimited rides for all for $15. We took all 4 kiddos and had an absolute BLAST! We also did the Thrashers House Of Terror haunted house which was also very well done.

A wonderful place for events like Old Threshers and Holiday Lights. We’ve taken the whole family here many times and always enjoy ourselves.

I've never been before and I've grown up in Iowa my entire life. I had a blast. I look forward to going back next year with a bit more cash in my pocket. Loads of stuff to browse and tons of smaller businesses to support. The shows were really cool too! I really enjoyed the train ride that we took towards the end of our day.

Trevor Philips — Google review

Went to the holiday lights - definitely worth the small fee. It took us about 30 minutes to get through and great for kids for a short outting after Thanksgiving dinner. Would be nice if there was a night for walking through the light display.

Spent a little time here over Labor Day weekend as a little mini-vacation with the granddaughter. Been a few years since I’ve attended a show, but it was amazing seeing it all again with a 4 year old in tow. We plan to be back again next year!

This is a wonderfully preserved old mill that still has many of it's original tools and features on display. We've been to several old mills, but none with as much of the mill processing tools still intact.Additionally there was an engagement area where kids and adults alike could process the corn using old tools which was really neat to do in the setting of the old mill!If you're an animal lover, there are also a couple of windows with shudders closed that are home to little brown bats. One of the windows downstairs you can walk right by and see the bats through the glass. A highlight of the trip! The scenery around the mill is also very nice with an old bridge across the creek and a nice walking path to the mill.

Super cute mill and waterfall! The entire area was beautiful. There was only one other small group of people when we went on a weekend afternoon. Such a nice short stop to stretch your legs or cool down from a long day of hiking with a short easy walk from the parking lot. There are a few different places you can climb down to for pictures that are fairly easy, just be careful and respectful of the environment.

Pine Creek Grist Mill is right next to wildcat den state park. And NYE cemetery.NYE cemetery has some of the oldest grave markers in this area.

Robert Miller — Google review

Wonderful historical Mill adjacent to Wildcat Den State Park. The area has plenty of parking and highlights the mill, an historical bridge, and a dam. Also, it allows easy access to a trail taking you to the Wildcat Den with a 1.5 mile walk through the forest. Nice camping area, and public restrooms. Highly recommend.

A great stop to learn about the inner workings of a Grist Mill!We have been to many around the country but never got to go inside. This is a working Mill!Such a fun experience for adults and kids alike!Definitely worth the detour!Plenty of great photo ops too!Glad we stopped by!

James G — Google review

A really cool place! You can go inside and your the mill, as well as a nearby old schoolhouse. One the day we visited the millpond was full of people swimming.

Cadence Giddings — Google review

At first a sign was up saying it's closed due to the heat. Then, a woman came to open it. It was so hot and dusty inside . We got to take a look around, but no demonstrations or anything available. Wish it was more.

Kyle Fields — Google review

The museum was closed at the time we visited so we were only able to look around the surrounding grounds of the Mill. The Mill was also undergoing some exterior renovations, which will likely improve the overall appearance of the Mill. The autumn scenery here is beautiful when the trees are in full color change.

Scott Platt — Google review

The work done to restore this 1840s mill is phenomenal. Heather gave us a tour & history lesson about the mill, its restoration and other intriguing facts related to the mill and Wild Cat Den State Park. This is a must see place for young and old alike.
